Alexander and Christian stood transfixed in front of the pearly gold gates. Saint Peter continued to flip through "The Book" for their names. It had been up to two hours so far for the mortals in front of him and he was on his third pass through.
"The Book" as the binding showed contained the death date and accurate account of one's actions by the universe. The two standing there in wait was just not an easy thing to sort. Lots of checking on other mortals to see the "ripple" of what they tied to in the past and future taking shape.
"Okay, good news and bad news." Saint Peter said to the two. "You are not in the book for.. the being done portion of life. This happens every now and then in accidental deaths. Or for people who died before the universe was done with them." Seeing the blank look the two had on their faces he decided to wrap it up.
Walking from behind his podium he clutched both young men's shoulders infusing them with divinity. This caused them to heal up and start to de-age on the spot. A gateway opened up sucking them both in as they were reconstituted. "Think of a place to go and you will transmigrate there."
In a split second Christian thought about Harry Potter deciding their fate. Traveling through the divide the two arrived at the world of Harry Potter. To the left books could be seen along with screenplays pouring into the world below. On the right side movie screens, video games, and various other artwork poured in. Behind the little world, a woman could be seen cradling the world in the embrace like a mother.
At any moment tears would break free from her sad face of almost boundless sorrow. Noticing the two new souls her mind raced fast. She reached over touching the two and placing them in the world. She had touched them with her abilities and shaped an unwritten way of unexplored reaches.
Crafting and Handwriting in their destiny for her restarted World. Instead of just wondering aimlessly the two would be drawn to events at times and help influence the fabric of a new Destiny. Smiling she clutched her world and watched as it started to turn again with new possibilities.
Alexander and Christian came too all little weirded out. Information popped into their heads about the location and what they had been through. Without living it directly themselves it was a very strange phantom feeling.
"You just had to think of this place, didn't you? Now look at us, we are kids again! I don't know about you, but I don't want to be a child again. I think about sex and violence way too much to be ok with this! What are we to do now?" Alexander said to Christian. "Ugh, I was a shitty kid that turned into a decent adult! Now as a kid again I might just lose my shit!"
The two arrived in the bodies of two children that were tailored just for them. For all intents and purposes, the two looked exactly like they would as children with little changes due to the environment. As the little memories passed through their heads Alexander calmed down some.
But only because he had to wrap his head around such a thing.
"It will be fine. We are in Book One. With my knowledge and your warped morals, we will be fine." Christian smiled at his friend. "So much to do and to change. Where to start first, Alex?"
"Yeah sure, sure." Alex looked out the window angry at his friend. "How the hell will we survive if we have no family help? On our own in the wizarding world. Bah Hogwarts is a death trap!"
"Come on. It's magic. Magic! we can learn the important ones really fast and go from there."
A woman appeared in the carriage with the two outside their scope of perception. It was the cradling woman over the planet just human size from what they both noticed. She looked like a young J.K. Rowling.
"Gentlemen thanks for your little divinity. It has worked wonders for my world. It allowed me to turn back the proverbial clock of life by millennia. For that, you have my thanks."
"I felt a cold tingle earlier. I guess thanks for stopping us from turning us into babies. So you couldn't have only been here to say that. What else is there?" Alex asked a little skeptical.
Christian had reached out on reflex asking for her autograph. "May I have your signature for creating such an awesome world?" With his pleading look, Rowling didn't stand a chance.
"Sure." She said smiling. "I also have three wishes for you each. Nothing too major just small things. Don't wish for money either. You both have it already just slightly controlled is all. It also will be almost impossible to steal it." Finishing the signature she placed it in Christian's hands with a smile. 'Better than letting them go off on their own, Saint Peter work but they won't die or set off an explosive chain of events.'
"Three Wishes… this won't be like that evil kind that bites us in the ass will it?" Alex asked point blank. Staring at the woman's eyes he noticed one contained nothing but darkness while the other contained a small light that kept getting bigger. 'That is downright... crazy!'
"No, I assure you it won't. You should go first. Your friend looks to be thinking." Rowling stared at the now boy. It was always pleasant to see people still believing in magic. Alex, however, unnerved her slightly. 'This man is a killer. But no evil in him. How unusual. I wonder what they will do in the future.'
"Fine. May I have first... a large understanding of written words and languages and the way they work? Basically, the ability to read and understand any language and symbols." Pausing Alex shook his head. " Scratch that. The ability to obtain infinite knowledge and cycle through it in my mind with no repercussions."
"Easy." Her eyes twinkled and closed before reopening. "Glad you changed it. The latter is more powerful but will require you to work for it."
"Ok, then second. The ability of unlimited regeneration and absolute control over it." Best way to play dead and survive torture anyway.
"Done." A smile blossomed on her face. "You are an interesting one. I wonder what kind of wizard you will become. What is your final wish?"
"Finally I guess... the ability of unlimited magical storage. I would like to be able to house any quantity of magic without fail in myself. I understand I would be able to achieve that eventually thanks to the other wishes but since we are in the beginning there is a chance of obtaining the philosopher stone. With no blowback or others tracking it."
"Oh, and why would you want that?" Rowling's eyes squinted dangerously.
"To siphon its power increasing both of our strengths. I don't need it for money since you said we are good in that department. I don't need it for the life potion with unlimited regeneration do I?"
"No, you do not. For that here." Touching his face she transferred the ability Magical Siphon.
"All three are complete and have been changed in your body. Thanks for the exchange." She then looked at Christian and started talking to him.
Christian first wish was the ability of an Altered Ani magus. He would be able to turn into any type of animal he wished. His second was the ability to speak all magical creatures' partial tongues. His final wish was the ability to resurrect as many times as he wanted. Within his control of course.
Rowling did one better for him. She enabled him to also to have an empathetic feel with animals and to know if they became sick. Afterward, the two just spent the ride talking.
Thinking hard Alex started to move through all the spells he had read and seen in movies. One by one words appeared inside his head and a magical example hologram explained the way spells work. So many spells to go through. It would take time for him to sort them out.
The carriage had stopped in Diagon Alley at some point. Waving goodbye the two stepped out on wobbly feet. It would take a while before they would be used to this height and build.
Looking around Alex took his eyes off of Christian for a few moments and the other transformed man was gone.
"Dammit. Where did you go?" What can one expect from a fan but them going nuts? Alex peered around back and forth and couldn't spot him in the crowd. Being short again had a downfall. "Blasted tall ass.. ugh, that's it drinking milk and vegetable juice to expedite my growth!"
Seeing the youth frustrated, most chuckled at the words. To the passing people that was not different to hear than most would say about being small.
"We are in Diagon Alley! I am going to look around. Meet back here in an hour." Christian's voice rang from the crowd.
Walking around Alex came across a small shop. Not paying attention to the sign he walked in. On the sign was a broken wand symbol.
Walking around the shop he spotted various tools of the trade. Alex took his time reading and observing each device. Took him 5 minutes to realize these were some type of a repair tool for wands. Coming across a bookshelf he grabbed an old musty book and started to read it. His eyes glazed over each word and a new diagram archiving away. Turns out this was all spell formation to help stabilize wands. Alex made sure to focus a little more once he realized the importance of it.
The shopkeep walked around noticing whoever came in earlier was still there. He observed the boy with slight interest until he realized the boy was just flipping through the pages. Walking over he went to give the boy a swat for mistreating the books.
*Ripple!* Right as his hand came down, he felt threatened by a small wave of magic. Lifting his glasses and rubbing his eyes he tried to clear away the image he saw briefly. Above the boy was the silhouette of a bird that went from an Eagle to a Raven with a Snake wrapped around its midriff.
"Umpf," the old man groaned as he fell on his rump. The noise alerted Alex who had just finished glossing through the book. Placing it back he looked at the old man who stared at him stupefied.
"What is it? Don't tell me this is one of those, you look you buy type places?" Walking over Alex tried to help the man up.
*Wack!* The man smacked Alex's hand away like he was the plague. Fear in the heart propelled him to do it. Only a few gave him that fear once before. Feeling it from a young boy no less.
"What the hell!? You old bastard? I outta knock your teeth in for that!" Looking at his hand Alex saw a welt start to form. The man hit him with his wand after checking it closer. "i didn't even do anything!" Shaking his hand he walked towards the door.
Seeing the clothes of a noble family member the old man realizes his folly. "Wait, young wizard! I was startled! I should not have done that! Please wait as I get something to make amends!" The old man ran to the back in a hurry. Coming out he handed Alex a small black kit.
"Alright, thanks. I guess. I am gonna go now." Turning around Alex opened the door and left. 'I do not like being a kid again at all. Ughh, this will be the death of me!'
"I forgot to get his name." Running out the door he lost the sight of Alex. "Darn it. I should have asked which family he was from first." Sighing to himself the old man looked around.
A passing Auror stopped to see what was the matter. "What's wrong there Old man Yaxley?"
"I just ran into a boy in my shop. I do believe I did him a grave disservice in my old age. Hopefully, he won't hold a grudge. By the way, what are you doing here this time of day?" Old man Yaxley started to mumble a little. "The design could not be it. The child must have bought an imitation from somewhere."
"Just shadowing an important person." Pulling out a pocket watch the Auror watched the needle point in a direction around the way. "Sorry can't stay and talk too long. I need to follow him." Catching the last of what Yaxley mumbled he stopped. He had to say something else, "describe the boy to me."
After a brief dialog, it was confirmed.
"That is actually my charge. I don't think he will hold a grudge."
"Oh, that's good." Old Yaxley sighed in relief. "What's his name? His clothing is he allowed to wear it?"
"Alexander Slytherin Ravenclaw the II. Like us a pureblood." The Auror took pride in saying the name.
"Oh.. dear. The last survivor of that bloodline." Realizing something else he couldn't help but ask. "Is it true he was abducted by muggles and held ransom till a Death Eater of all things saved him?"
"Off the record yes. On the record, nothing like that happened. The wizarding world is in for a change." With that, the Auror apparated away to get closer to Alex.
