Chapter 45: 45 Heaven is on earth
I feel so elated. The best smile ever from my father. He truly wanted me to join him in the family business and the happiness I saw in his face was spectacular. It ended well and I realized, this is now my world, the business world. Little by little, I am learning the turns and twists as I am also slowly loving and embracing my work wholeheartedly. I can't wait to go home and personally ask my father how i did in the meeting. Mom would surely be proud of me.
Later that day, during our family dinner, my father congratulated me for what I have done in the BOD's meeting. He said they were all impressed with my findings and the Directors expressed their support to my proposal. Out of his happiness, father informed me that my credit limit was increased. From one million to unlimited credit limit. He further added that I have to buy a new car of my choice but I insisted that my car is better than any other luxurious cars. It's my best friend since college and losing it for another car would break my heart. In retreat, he held his hands up and said, "buy whatever you want... anything...and don't forget, buy the best dress, shoes and accessories for the international conference. Make me proud again." He smiled... that smile again. So intoxicating and it's melting my heart. "Thanks dad" with a teary eyed hug was all I can do to the success of my day.
