Chapter 25: 25 CCTV Cam
I dialled the police station number and informed them briefly of what had happened. A team of uniformed police officers came to investigate. Good that five years ago, my father had installed CCTV Camera outside the house. It was unplanned and unintentional, it was only offered to him by the son of a distant relative who ventured in this business. He can't afford to offend these people because for many years, they were nice and pleasant. He also believe that helping this young entrepreneur would encourage him to do good and make his craft better each day.
Now that this incident happened, everyone of us was thankful for it, the video footage was reviewed and the monster was identified...
The CCTV Cam were designed to record a 100 degree radius from the perimeter of our home. My father did not put a cam inside the house because he thought that it's an intrusion to the privacy of each of his family members if a footage of the family activity inside the house be recorded. Now, he felt regretful, he should have included at least in locations inside the house permissable by all.
My father, Merio Vasquez, a licensed civil engineer by profession, is a low profile manager-owner of a construction and hardware supplies, a business earned through generation to generation succession from the family tree. Because of his willpower, it grew faster and after years of hard work, it has now expanded its branches in almost all of the asian countries supplying the largest and mightiest construction firms. Though we knew that the family business is more than capable of making our lives live a luxurious life, my father chose to train us in a way that we can stand on our own skills and capabilities without depending on the wealth our ancestral endowed us.
If that monster had under estimated me and my family that's because we remain humble and live like individuals coming from a family with an average income. But if wealth be the basis of pushing one down, that monster lady would eventually be six feet below the ground in an instant.
