Write a reviewa wonder novel with a intricate world building and many interesting relationships and dilemmas.
It's a great story with a few "small" problems that made me abandon it. The MC is practically forced to guide a bunch of people to a certain place, when they get there they are taken by surprise and discover that it is a very dangerous place, instead of making it clear to those people that he would not go deeper into that place and that he would wait until the wolves left to come back he decides that the best course of action is to follow those people who don't care about his life and who clearly have elusive goals in this place, but why? He has nothing to do there! What irritated me most was the fact that he knew that every death situation he entered could end up harming the person he cared about most, his brother, including killing him. In that place there were only 5 people left, 3 who were strong and 2 who were "weak", the 2 strong decided to separate after realizing that they had entered the territory of a super force and left the MC with the 2 "weak" the MC instead of killing these two who forced him to be in that dangerous place and humiliated him, he left them there to be captured, they were captured and reported to this super force all the other 3 who came with them, they even incited their captors to kill the MC. The MC manages to survive because of the plot armor, he runs back because he discovers that all the monsters that were in that place are heading towards his city so he saves his brothers and a friend's family. Now let's talk about his system, he becomes strong by earning sincere thanks, when the monsters attacked his city the people ran away and he had crucial information about the monsters and enough strength to help some people and receive their sincere thanks, but he decided to keep quiet and not take advantage of the best chance he had to become stronger. Stupid, right? This all happened in just a few chapters, it was already getting on my nerves but then came the reason I abandoned this novel, he saved the brother of the guy who caused this whole disaster, he saved this guy who didn't care if he lived and died, one of the bosses of that super force that caused the disaster and this guy wanted to kill one of the few people who helped the MC, and they become friends, lol. I went to see the spoilers trying to find out if one day he would take revenge on the people who put his and his brother's lives at risk and what I discovered made me feel angry, he has a romance with one of these people and becomes friends with everyone else, lol. For those people who dared to compare this to Lord of the Mysteries, you need a psychiatrist, go get help!
Reveal SpoilerIt's actually a good book despite a lot of people saying it's not worth it. It's well written, the plots are good, the characters are not cardboard cutouts, and the world building is unique and pretty well made. I think you'll not regret reading this one. I'm not gonna go over the good parts of this book as a lot of good reviews were already in the review section. Let's go over the parts that needed more work from the author.First is the weak romance. I sincerely think that the romance part was unnecessary. Especially if you are an author that was not good at it, the same with the author of this book. But before I elaborate, I still have to commend the effort of the author in creating at least a decent romantic plot where there is no harem and there was loyalty with the MC and FL. Now, let's go over why it's weak. First of all, I didn't get how they suddenly just said to anyone they know that they like each other when they never have ever have recollections and reflection of how they just fall to each other. The author made situations, that most of the time are forced, so that these two can have a moment. Which is bad, because it felt unnatural. One factor was also that the author was not good enough to create a romantic situation amidst the survival part of the story. The story has the tint of darkness and seriousness with death as the consequence if they just perform weakly. There is an emphasis towards being stronger so that they have to live. Pair this with a subpar romance that was just inserted while forcing some plots and sacrificing some plots for the main plot, will just bring down the story. The romance part was not placed correctly and it was also not that believable, strong, relevant, and endearing to the hearts of the reader or at least to me. One of the factors also was because I was already antagonizing the FL, I don't hate her character but if you are going to make a romantic interest, the readers should also love her the way the MC loves her, or at least they can see and understand the reason why he loves her. The FL was the cold and unemotional type so most of the conversation between the two are stale, it got better around chapter 300-400 but was still not a likable character in my eyes. Now that I am writing this, i can't really see how the MC liked her, I can't find reasons that I at least have to refute. There were just so few developments, then the author just decided to say yeah they are already madly in love with each other. The worst thing was, if it was Li Xiaoyu, his sister, or Zhou Xiaoyu(?), his maid, I can still understand and be glad with the romantic parts because they have chemistry with the MC and at least they are likable and reflective type of characters. It's like the FL is inside a black box while these two females are in two transparent box, I can understand them while I hardly even know about the FL. Towards chapter 500s onwards or at least chapter 700 where Im currently at, the story has become direction less. There was no clear motivation. Like the MC will state his motivation to find his brother and family but the way he acts most of the time was not in line with this, the author was forcing him to different subplots and he just went out with it. Its not highly obstructing but with all the chaos happening and will happen, it feels unrewarding. He was also not developing, it's been 300 chapters but he never had new abilities or improvements in his power. There was no new task, there was I think only two the one gave a basic copy and one was one dexterity. He didn't need new abilities, just some improvements like improved knowledge or fighting styles will do but nada he just got a new maid and every achievement of the maid will turn into him as he was her master. It's still entertaining but I was thinking the plot will elevate but it became static, I hope the next few chapters will be good.Just lessen the force plotting and have some motivation and direction and it will turn for the better.
Loved it unexpected ending. which was a great move author part. Definitely, this book needs to be published well worth the read.
The story is great until 300+ chapter. And I say this for two simple reasons the MC suddenly from the "my bro and me against the world" goes to "I'll sacrifice my life FOR whoever whatever no-name side character " . And he doesn't do it once or twice...he keeps doing like he acquired autism at some point after he became so OP that he literally can beat anyone within 10secs. Essentially the author can't handle MC and he changed his character so he can push the story forward. But that does a great disservice to fans who are here for the opportunistic, survivalist, not giving a f*** about feelings MC that was shown. And it makes sense cuz it's a dystopian future...you can bring forth the hero card ONCE ....the second time you ARE DISNEY... I'm harsh but it was a good book that had so much potential...and went and became a generic hero MC that would survive 3 days in this dystopian future.
a good novel the spend time its funny, intense, emotional overall a good read.but i don't know why after around 800 chapter it got a bit boring and during witches arc it got worse so all i can say i enjoyed this novel it could have been my best but i still rate it high.i will start this authors second book i hope i laugh as much as this book did.
Such a well written novel. Picked it up in 2019 during 11.11, and what a roller coaster this has been.Glad to have finally completed this amazing novel after so many years. The author behind this book has put in alot of thought. Translator and editors Legge and Weirdo have done a good job of translating the essence of this work.Time to pick a new book project to start on.
Reveal SpoilerThe Phenomenal translation of this work makes it very enjoyable to read. This along with a great cast of characters and complex world woven together by the author truly makes this book shine on this platform.
This is a rare masterpiece. Are you looking for a powerful, intelligent protagonist? Are you looking for fleshed-out, thought-provoking villains? Do you want a mix of complex, interesting side characters? Do you want a whiff of romance without the overbearing stench of sordid detail? Then you have found a winner. This is the tale of a young man's struggle in a post-apocolyptic China to find peace for himself and his family. He'll face bandits, hegemons, corporations, soldiers, and honeypots that get in his way. He will awake one day to a 'system' for him to get stronger, and square up against foes with superpowers. But it will never be easy, and it will always feel earned. The world of this novel feels tangible. I can feel the grit under my feet and sense the emotions of the characters without them having to be spelled out. It builds slowly, but not ploddingly. It's not (very) jingoist, and you feel you yourself are in the main character's shoes. Best of all, by the end of the novel, you will feel like you've completed the adventure... although there is a sequel! (as yet untranslated...) My advice is to give it a shot.
This Novel will take you through the ride of your life. Laughter, tears, fear, fierce passion. Welcome to the life of Ren Xiaosu, an orphan, left alone to find his way, to build a family, find friends, watch the world burn and thrive. you won't want to put it down, and it will pull you back time and time again.
This novel has incredible world-building and well-written fight scenes that entraps you as in your actually watching it happen. Although this story sometimes gets hard to read, it picks itself up.
One of the few books that has really touched my soul on this platform. From the opening awkward chapters to the full bloom of a life well lived. The friends and family found, and lost, along the way will keep you on the edge of a cliff.
Hello, I would like to talk to you about your book. Can you please contact me via Instagram. I am there as @penetratingoutlook
Itโs a really decent novel tbh, idk why some readers were hating on this novel cuz there are lotsa subpar webnovels out there and First Order beats them hands down. If you really like those OP MCs from the beginning then this webnovel is not for you my friend. Itโs a bit slow paced but otherwise itโs good. Great work Legge and the author! I hope to see more progress in the future โบ๏ธ
I am at Chapter 327 and right now Ren only has 2 abilities:- Shadow Clone and a half Shadow door. Does he get more, does it get better? Please tell me
Its a good novel. post apocalyptic world with good world building. overall i would read it and recommend to all even if this is not your genera of choice. I usually dont like post apocalyptic settings but this is good enough to be an exception
1. The Translation Quality is absolutely amazing, this is my second time rereading and I have not found a single mistake throughout the book related to the wording and writing 2. Updates come daily and are very stable 3. The story is impeccable, it flows smoothly and clearly with scenarios that fit to the world RX is living in 4. There are a multitude of characters, who change and grow over time, I seen some reviews that say they dont like RX for being less ruthless as he was before at around 400~ chapters? However I consider that growth because he is meeting more people and being influenced by his friends, family, and enemies 5. The world building is very good and I have no problems with it :) I would also like to thank Trotter and Legge for making and translating such an emotional and amazing book.
very good novel, well designed and unique characters, good writing quality and updated regularly. the world building isn't amazing but still pretty good - in my opinion the recent arc (though good) isn't at the same level as the preceding ones.
This is one of the best novels I have read since I read Omniscient Readerโs Viewpoint and this might actually be better than it. I have currently read up to Chapter 373 and I still see more. There are very few ploy holes that actually affect the story and the character development is amazing. I love this novel but sometimes I hate this novel but not for the reason that you are thinking. This is my first time writing a review so Iโm not sure how to say what I am thinking and it still be readable but this story is amazing and I fully recommend that you read it even if only up to the end of volume 1.
Love this book a lot! From worldbuilding to comedy and character development, everything is done masterfully! I only have 2 very very minor issues: since the author does not dwell on characters' appearances after they are introduced, i.e. hair colour, eye colour, build etc, I have no clue what the characters look like. It's not an actual issue, since I just imagine them in my head anyways, just a personal preference. My second issue is that I'm almost caught up and I still don't know why tf it's called First Order
The world is interesting and the characters are cool too. The translation does the job and the beginning of the story got me hooked quickly. Unfortunately, the story rapidly got worse once the system was integrated. I am honestly tired of systems, to begin with, but if they are implemented well then I can look past them without any negative thought to the story. Sadly that's rare and this one is not an exception. I think the story would've been much better by just not introducing a system. So what's the problem, well this technically gets into spoilers but they are minor and all introduced very early. For starters, he gets an item to copy people's abilities super easily and multiple of them. Granted the skill he takes will be a random one from a person it's still bizarre to me. He can become a master in a topic from gun-wielding to pretty much anything you can think of just by using an easy-to-earn item. Then there is the even bigger issue the system makes him do stupid stuff that ruins the immersion. The first one is he is asked to make 100 people give thanks to him and he ends up acting stupid to do it, and no one even questions him. To some, it may be small, but to me, it pulls me out of the entire story.
The First Order is a story about Ren Xiasou, a refugee who lives outside the strongholds. He awoke a system that allows him to get some supernatural abilities. He uses this to help him and his little brother survive. This is arguably one of my least favorite novels. I have to admit, I loved the first 400 chapters, I found it very interesting even though it wasn't perfect. However, there might as well not be a story beyond chapter 400, because nothing interesting happens beyond that point. Translation quality is garbage. Theres so many mistakes in every chapter it's ridiculous. Furthermore, the translation randomly changes, sometimes its in all lowercase, sometimes every single word is capitalized. (1/5 stars) Story development. Everything before chapter 400 is a solid 4/5, maybe even a 5/5. However, words cannot describe how garbage the novel is beyond that. It's just this ever constant stream of unimportant information while the main character is trying to "search for" people he knows. The whole assassin arc was stupid as well, we go from the main character taking on thousands of well-trained troops to the main character serving as a bodyguard to some random celebrity and fighting low-level thugs. I find myself skipping entire chapters, and the most I read per chapter at this point is 50 words. The pacing in this novel is really bad as well. Sometimes the main character is fighting an army, other times the novel takes 100 chapters setting up for something absolutely pointless. Upon realizing this, the author tries to make it seem slightly important later on, but it genuinely feels like a afterthought. Power scaling is just as bad. The main character is "overpowered" but not at all. He fights against armies but always seems to be only slightly better than everyone else. This might just be because he never fights with anyone strong, but it remains the same. The system he has is also extremely inconsistent, and recently it's basically forgotten. Early on, it would give him quests that allow him to duplicate people's skills and superpowers. Now, it's basically forgotten. Furthermore, he is extremely stupid with how he uses the skill duplication scrolls. He uses them in the worst possible way, so he has a extremely odd-assortment of skills. Also, I didn't properly explain how much filler there is. Every single time the main character fights, theres a solid three chapters of the main character "overhearing" people praising and talking about him. It's so annoying to read. Last point, this novel is even more repetitious than cultivation novels. The same plot points happen over and over and over. Luo Lan, a friend of the main character, has been saved well over 30 times at this point, and it's downright tedious to read at this point. (1/5 stars, would give it less if I could) Character design is equally awful. Zhou Yingxue, a character that gets introduced after the first 400 chapters, is downright annoying. She is a useless character that only serves as plot armor and comedic relief. The first 400 chapters had good characters, and they only seemed really realistic. This all went out the window after chapter 400, where every single character is annoying. Also, their IQ drops after chapter 400, where despite the main character attempting to look for them, they don't do the same. It is EXTREMELY obvious where the main character is, and they just ignore him? Hello? (1/5 stars) World background is a mess. Honestly, it's probably around 3 stars, but I'm lowering to 1 star just because of how awful the plot dumping is. There is still a ridiculous amount of plot dumping at CHAPTER 600. This information is just abruptly talk about, with barely any interlude. Almost every single thing they talk about as well is super boring, and I find myself just skipping three chapters at a time. Overall, I recommend not reading this novel at all. I would recommend reading the first 400 chapters, but it leaves you on a cliff-hanger so I doubt anyone would be satisfied. Everything beyond chapter 400 is a mess, and I'm questioning why the author thought it would be good. I give this novel 1.0 stars out of 5.
I enjoy/enjoyed story so far, book is written and translated on great level. Characters are interesting and their development is solid. Only big minus is updating stability. Book gets new chapters randomly each day and only 1 chaper per day ... other than that aall s great.
I want to become a vampire.i love to become a vampire . a vampire is a fantasy I want to live in .a vampire is a great option to become ....
