Chapter 2: 2

I pressed the power button, grabbed the controller, and sat down criss-cross on my couch.

I pressed the button to turn my controller on and selected my profile.

After starting the game, I skipped the intro scene, and clicked on my load.

The screen skipped back into my game, where I was currently going through a scene of me trying to talk to my peers at school.

The characters in this game were very well planned, but I didn't appreciate any of the girl characters.

While playing, I started to wonder why I hate all the girls in this video game.

I'm not being sexist- I've liked female characters in other shows and games.

The males in here are well appreciated across everyone...

Including myself.

The main character in particular is extremely popular- I often don't appreciate characters that are incredibly praised.

This character was an acception I guess.

I pulled my mind back to the game to stop from shifting away, afraid I would miss something important.

I realized I was having trouble focusing on multiple things on screen. This was pointing at the thought that I'm tired.

had i been playing for that long..?

I rubbed my eyes, and continued playing till I couldn't focus on anything. I saved my game and turned the T.V. off with the console.

I walked to my bed, and watched videos on my phone till I eventually fell asleep.

The next morning was a school day, and I woke up a half hour later then I usually do.

It made little difference to me since I usually have a while to spare. It only takes five minutes to get ready if I dont take a shower or anything.

While I was walking to school I looked at the road.

I have to cross to get to the bus stop at one point. I look both ways instinctively, seeing no cars.

...i could let myself get hit...

My friend Jean was already at the stop, being loud as usual. He paused his loud conversation with some young kid to acknowledge my presence.

He walked away and came over to me.

"Don't you look pissed"

he said, taking out his phone and supposedly texting someone.

"I'm tired." I replied.

"Who isn't? It's the last week of school and they still give us so much d*mn paperwork...

It's not as though we have anything left to learn this year..."

He complained, putting one of his hands in his pocket.

"You're a grade younger then me. You have it easy... wait till you get Mr. Stephen next year-"

I smiled at how terrible the work in his class is.

"Then you'll have to hear me complain even more." He chuckled.

"..." The bus had pulled up and I started walking to it.

Today wasn't different from any other school day. If I could only convince myself it was.

That today is a day to remember. Tommorow I will remember everything that happened today-

Maybe I'll meet someone new or I'll end up victim to some amazing fate.

There was always hope, even if it's false or dead.
