Chapter 4: Meeting the assignment
The drive and flight didnt take long only 3 hours total. During that time I had enough time to review any extra info needed about the assignment. Including her romance life, her real and fake friends, her preferences, and of course her reaction to hearing the news about me.
She didn't take it harshly like her parents predicted, after all she ober exaggerates about her privacy. Instead she seemed quite ecstatic about the idea, she readied a bed and closet for me in her room, and already told all her supposed friends how I'm a family friend from the country side who came for a better education. And now she awaits my arrival to personally introduce herself.
And so I pull into the huge private residency of the Carter family, and as expected coming into view is the trio of the family along with some staff. "Totally not looking forward to this," I whisper. I heard a light chuckle come from the driver, for got about the whole sensitive ears dealio.
As I exit the car I am approached by a hug and a loud squeal. Out of instinct I accidentally turn her and press her against the car. It took me a second to realize what I was doing and I immediately released her. "I apologize about that, wasn't expecting a physical welcome so suddenly," I say as I help her recover herself. "No it's fine really, I guess I shouldn't have overreacted, after all we just met. But damn aren't you fast," Alicia replied as she massaged her wrist.
"Welcome to our home Athena. I'm sorry about Alicia, we tried to tell her to compose herself, obviously it went right through her head," said a middle aged woman, no older that 27.
"You must be Mrs. Carter, nice to meet you," I reply while extending my hand.
"Aww no need for that Athena, we'll be family from now on, so no need to be formal, just call me Sofia." She says as she embraces me into her warm arms. She retracts herself then points to the middle aged man beside her, about the same age I suppose, "This is my husband, Thomas, I assume you know him as a good friend of your father."
I look at the man and slightly bow to show my respect towards the alpha. Its customary at least until I become the alpha of my own pack, which is still a long way to go.
"He's not much if a talker, so dont mind him." says Sofia to break the akward silence, "I welcome you to our home. Alicia would you mind showing her the way to the room. Also tommorow morning bring her to the private office room."
"No problem mom!" Alicia practically squeals as she drags me towards the house.
