"You're way too excited about this whole adventure thing." Li Mingzhu smiled fondly at the overeager system. "Especially since I'm not sure what this adventure is even supposed to be."
{Hmm... To be honest I'm not sure how everything will play out. Most people with The Lovers Heart System would usually use their romantic surroundings for their benefit but it seems that you have... different plans.}
"You got that right!" Considering that this was a harem dating sim targetted to straight men, Li Mingzhu can't imagine herself 'using the romantic surroundings'. However, changing and improving the game sounded a lot more fun. "Hmm, I don't remember most of the plot but most of the actual gameplay was just the protagonist charming the female leads and using them to do missions" Even though it's just a game, the mere idea of a guy using girls for his own benefit really pissed Li Mingzhu off.
{Host, I'm sensing a lot of sudden hostility. Are you alright?}
"Yeah System," Li Mingzhu gritted out as her father's face popped up in her mind. "I'm fine."
{Hmm... if you say so... I have to admit I'm a bit nervous. I was programmed to bring couples together not to keep them apart! But don't worry, I promise to help in any way I can!}
"Hey! I'm not 'keeping couples apart' system! I'm just... going to add some well-needed character development to the plot!" Li Mingzhu argued when a realization hit her. "I'm going to develop all... 20 of them, wow." Suddenly her mission looked a lot bleaker than before.
{Oh! You haven't played the new version of the game so of course, you don't know about the new update. Silly me!}
Li Mingzhu instantly perked up. "There was an update?"
{Yep! As it turns out many fans had similar complaints about the female leads so the creator narrowed it down to ten girls with 6 main routes and 4 smaller routes!}
"Really? That's good to hear!"
[Fewer girls would make my goal a lot easier!] She thought happily. [I hope my favorites didn't get cut out though.] Even though Li Mingzhu never finished the game, she played long enough to pick three girls as her 'favorites' and would've stuck by them if the game wasn't rotting her brain the longer she played it.
{Ooh~ You have favorites? Perhaps I can still be used for my original purpose. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)}
Li Mingzhu's face was filled with black lines as she listened to her System's words. "Yeah... I don't think sure." She muttered out when a thought occurred to her. "Hey System, since there's routes now does that mean this game changed genres? Oh! Did the creator also fixed the problems with the plot too?"
[If the creator fixed the issues with the plot and the main character than maybe I won't be needed at all!]
{Well, um... Even though the player can focus on one girl at a time, the harem ending is still the same and the plot more or less stayed the same so-}
"Same bullshit, different girls. Got it." Li Mingzhu finished with a deadpan expression.
{If it makes you feel any better a lot of people liked the new female leads! It looks like you're not the only one who thought they had a lot of potential.}
Li Mingzhu opened her mouth to say something when she heard a sharp ding go off in her head.
{Oh good we're here! (ᗒᗨᗕ)}
[Huh?] Li Mingzhu blinked in surprise as she suddenly found herself standing in front of two large white iron gates. [Wow I didn't even notice we got here.] As she stepped forward the two gates slowly creaked opened by themselves.
"That's not creepy at all" She muttered to herself as she walked through the gates of the school.
{Oh don't be such a spoilsport. (;￣Д￣) This is supposed to be a fun adventure so you might as well enjoy yourself!}
"Hmm, I guess you have a point." Li Mingzhu admitted. Just because she was stuck here doesn't mean she should be miserable the whole time. Especially since she had a new mission in her life, or rather in her afterlife if she was being technical about it, so she should just suck it up and focus on that!
{Not what I meant but I guess but ok. I guess we're doing baby steps now. (¬_¬)}
[I thought Systems aren't supposed to have personalities so what's with all this sass that I'm getting?]

Li Mingzhu couldn't tell if she wanted to laugh or roll her eyes at her System before she spotted three figures and began jogging up to them.
[Oh, don't be like that!] She tried to reassure the system. [Look, you're right ok? This is all just a game so maybe I should take it down a notch.]
{For the sake of your blood pressure I agree! (・ωｰ)～☆}
[Oh Ha Ha.] Li Mingzhu snarked back as she made her way through the ridiculously long courtyard. As she got closer to the three figures she couldn't help but wonder just who they were and why did it seem like they waiting for someone? Soon her curiosity was becoming too much and she began to get excited to find out the answer.
Unfortunately for both Li Mingzhu and her blood pressure, today was just the beginning of her constant frustration.

Sorry for the long break. I'm still trying to figure out a writing schedule but I know that's no excuse for making you guys wait so long.
This chapter ended up being super long so I thought I could split it into two parts to make it easier for you guys!
