Chapter 8: World Of Warcraft Warmth-Encounter with Summer
As the busy semester comes to an end, finally it's summer break, no more exams and boring classes. Shae for the first time gets to stay at home and relax. Maybe she has been deprived of entertainment too much, nothing seems to get her interests and she finds herself in a gloomy mood often.
One day she came across an ad on the internet for World of Warcraft. Never played any MMO and out of curiosity, Shae signed up for an account and became a blood elf priest.
Leveling as a healer is not easy. There are often quests that require multiple players. Shae is not very good with the game yet having just started, she often gets lost in caves and mountains in Azeroth, a place when she later, met the first guy in her life and showed care for her.
One day Shae is doing one quest that requires a drop from one elite. She has to kill the mobs before getting to the elite however she takes too slow and every time she kills the mobs around the elite they re-spawn.
Shae has been stuck on this quest for quite sometime and is getting frustrated and decided to take a break from it. Just before she logs off, a troll hunter with a big tiger shows up next to her and killed the mobs around her.
The hunter then comes closer to Shae and waved at her "You need some help?"
Shae looks at his character, long teeth pocking out from his tiny volleyball shaped blue head, with two giant rabbit ears pointing at the sky. A furious looking red tiger follows him around, same sharp teeth, Shae somehow found it fluffy and cute.
"Sure.....if you want" Shae is already tired but she still wants to get the quest over with.
"Gotta heal me then, dear priest" Hunter smirks. "And my pet tiger."
"haha you are funny" Shae giggles as the tiger walks around him.
Hunter then whistles and the tiger dashes towards the elite and then he starts shooting sharp arrows from his cross-bow.
The elite was soon defeated, a mission that would have otherwise been impossible for Shae alone.
"Thank you.." Shae applauses with gratitude.
"My pleasure....well....new to the game?" Hunter laughs.
"Yea just starting out" Shae is still relived that she doesn't have to get stuck on the same quest for hours.
"Same here, want to level together? You can heal me and my baby here." He points at the tiger.
"oh yea....sure....It is tough out here for a healer haha. " Shae grins.
"haha I have my pet here he can tank but I could always use a healer." Hunter pets his tiger's furry belly who lying on his back yawning.
"What quests are you doing?" Hunter asks.
Shae then showed him the quests she has in the area.
"mmmmm ok I am almost done with quests in this area but let me help you finish, follow me" Hunter turns around and the lazy tiger finally gets up from the ground.
Shae was a little surprised that someone would be willing to help her out with her lengthy quests since everyone seems to be busy leveling.
She looks at his name and slowly reads : "Emerald Summer....", a name Shae will remember for a long, long time.
"Catch up!" Summer waves at Shae who is still at the same spot staring at him.
"Oh yea sorry...coming" Shae came back from her thoughts, and quickly ran to Summer and his tiger.
"Follow me closely and don't get lost" Summer turns back at winks with Shae.
"Haha I will try not to" Shae caught up with Summer even closer, like she used to follow Wales around when she was little. A familiar feeling rose from her heart.
She feels very calm and warm. "Perhaps it's the heat." Shae thinks to herself.
