"Magic Fighters are those that could manipulate, harness and wield the powers of nature and laws in combat. Well, technically wielding the powers of nature was not specific to just combat, however for all people who went down the path of mastery over the nature and laws, combat tended to be the focus."
Vance explained while Aker greedily absorbed the new information he was receiving.
"It's true that power over nature is used for pill concocting, creating potions, magic formation masters, herbalist, blacksmithing, magic cooking, magic engineering and much, much more. It would not be an exaggeration to say that magic and the laws play a role in the everyday lives of everyone in the universe."
Aker nodded his head in understanding as Vance continued his explanation. When Aker woke up and saw Vance, he couldn't help but be baffled at the ridiculous and laughable face he was making.
Aker had heard Vance mutter "Body Conditioning Level 1" and so Aker proceeded to ask what he was talking about. It was at this point that Vance explained the concept of magic to Aker. Aker was startled at first, he had been here for over 2 weeks and this was first time he was truly hearing about it. He had heard that the next level beast he would be fighting against would be a magic beast but he didn't necessarily equate that to actual magic.
Vance had already explained to him the three major levels of magic fighter that he knew. Each major level had multiple minor levels as well.
The first major level was Body Conditioning also known as Vassal stage which had five levels. While a magic fighter is at the body conditioning stage, they are working towards purifying their bodies and making them capable of holding nature particles within. Those at the body conditioning cannot actually manipulate nature however as they transform at each level their strength grows considerably.
Aker had already completed the first level, Skin. He would now start on the second level of Muscles. The goal of this stage of body conditioning was to saturate all of the muscles within the body in nature particles. As the nature particles were absorbed into the muscles the muscles would become stronger and tougher.
After a magic fighter completed the second level, they would begin the third level Organs. At this stage they would focus on strengthening the five major organs Liver, Heart, Stomach, Lungs, and Kidney's. These organs maintain the bodies functions and through strengthening them magic fighters see a huge strength increase especially in vitality.
Following the organs would be level 4 Bones. By filling the bones with nature particles, the fighter will be able to significantly increase the bone density and strength. In order to move on to the last level all 206 bones in the human body have to be infused.
Completing the bones, the fighter can then move on to the last phase level 5 Blood. Bones are responsible for the production of blood in the human body. It is naturally after the bones have been completed that the fighter will focus on replacing all blood cells in their body with nature infused blood cells.
Once the magic fighter has completed all five levels their body will be perfectly filled with the nature particles and they will be capable of producing a Magic Source Core in their body. Most often just called it the Source Core and it was also referred to as the Edler stage. At this level magic fighters no longer need to use pills, potions and herbs as they can pull in the nature particles using the Source Core. While they don't have to have pills, potions and herbs all magic fighters continue to use them as they allow for faster cultivation of their magic fighting strength.
The Source Core also has five levels which are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water which align with the five elements. In order to advance the magic fighter must cultivate their Source Core with each element beginning with Wood. While a magic fighter is cultivating Wood, they cannot cultivate Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water. Once the magic fighter has completely saturated their Source Core with a specific element, they can move on to the next one. The Source Core must be cultivated in the order of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
The Source Core can only be cultivated as quickly as the magic fighter is able to sense the element particles or afford the pills, potions and herbs that are made specifically for that element. Magic fighters at the Source Core stage can apply magic to themselves and items they are holding such as swords and shields. They are not capable of using magic attacks that extend beyond themselves.
Once the Source Core is filled with all five elements the core will reach harmony which will then allow for it to convert to a Nature's Core, this is also known as Knight stage. Natures Core also has five levels which are the Human, Earth, Spirit, Heaven and Divine levels.
At the Natures Core a magic fighter is capable of controlling the magic particles in the atmosphere immediately surrounding them which allows for attacks using nature particles. In essence they are no longer restricted to just using the particles on themselves and the weapons they are holding.
At Nature's Core the fighter must select which element they are going to master. The first two levels of Body Conditioning and Source Core were about tempering the body to be able to accept the nature particles.
According to Vance, in the whole of the Universe this is as far as a fighter can go unless they are an Emperors Candidate. He wasn't sure what levels were after Nature's Core and already the Nature's Core magic fighters were considered rulers and legendary figures for people living in the outer universe.
He didn't explain in detail what an Emperor's Candidate was but he did mention that only at Emperor's Candidate Academies could they teach the candidates how to cultivate beyond the Natures Core level.
"So then fighting a magic beast, are they capable of using magic?" Aker after hearing the different levels and some of the specifics of magic was left in a state of shock. Wouldn't someone who could use magic to fight be unbeatable?
"While we humans have to struggle with conditioning our bodies so that we are capable of creating our Source Core to hold nature particles, magic beast are born with the ability. Both have their advantages and disadvantages as the universe's laws will always balance out. We are born with the ability to comprehend and can create a Source Core and even a Nature's Core through extreme struggle and cultivation. Magic beast while born with essentially a Source Core struggle to comprehend and therefore find it almost impossible to create a Nature's Core. They also significantly lack in battle planning and strategy and only have their instincts to guide them."
Admittedly as Aker listened, he only partially understood Vance's references. He had never actually seen magic used in battle so he had no gauge to evaluate its strength and how he would fight against it.
"A magic beast just like humans come in strong and weak. Some magic beast takes an entire army to destroy and others can be fought by a young fighter. The magic beast you will fight will be the equivalent of 50 Kulga but it's a little more difficult to quantify than that. The magic beast will be capable of using one of the five elements. More than likely you will be fighting one of three beasts...A Wind Wolf, Fire Ape, or Hard-Shell Snake as all of these beasts are considered level 1 basic."
"Level 1? What type of magic beast is level 1? What does basic mean" Aker couldn't help but ask, this was the first time he was hearing this term.
"Magic beast have levels just like humans however their levels are different as they are cultivating completely different. The levels for magic beast start at level 1 and go through level 9. In each level they have the three stages of basic, intermediate and expert, so a level 1 basic would be a beast that just barely qualifies as a magic beast."
Aker now understood that the beast he would be fighting while it was capable of using magic, it wouldn't be overly powerful. Well over powerful would be dependent on who you asked, but by fighting terms it was considered the lowest and weakest magic beast.
"Magic beast can instinctively use magic and as such they can use it in their attacks. For example, the Wind Wolf is capable of using wind magic to accelerate and so it is considered an agility type beast, whereas the Fire Ape can add fire to its palms and hands making its attacks stronger."
Aker knew he had broken through the Body Conditioning Level 1 as the explanation of magic started with Vance explaining that he had broken through the first level. As Aker listened, he wasn't sure how it had happened but he suspected it had something to do with mana so he wanted to find out.
"I heard someone talking about mana, do you know what that is?" Aker didn't want to explain about his Leveling and Skills. He wasn't sure what it was yet and his instincts were telling him he shouldn't say anything about it to anyone.
"Huh....not many people know about mana, where did you hear it?" Vance asked with a stupefied face. While what mana was wasn't necessarily a secret it also wasn't something that your average person would know about. Vance only knew about it as he had been involved in some high-level meetings that were sworn to secrecy where the topic of mana came up.
"I don't specifically recall, maybe I read about it.... I'm not 100% sure, I had just heard about it somewhere." Aker was avoiding the question all together.
Vance who didn't really care where Aker had heard about it didn't give it any more thought as he answered "I told you about nature particles and law but where do they come from. In the beginning there was chaos. There was no universe. There were no galaxies. There were no planets, there was only chaos. From the chaos was born mana. Mana provided rules to the chaos which created law and from law came nature. All life in the universe is based on nature and law and all nature and law is based on mana, you could call mana the antitheses of chaos."
Hearing this Aker was confused. Earlier Vance had explained that to advance through the Source Core a person had to cultivate the different elements. After cultivating each element, they then had to choose one element for their Nature Core. So why would people have to do that if they could just cultivate mana. Why not just cultivate mana instead of messing around with each element individually?
"Why not just cultivate mana instead of each element then?" Aker couldn't help but ask.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....isn't that the funniest...." Vance really was laughing harder than Aker had ever heard him laugh before, as if though he was really enjoying a fantastic joke. "Who wouldn't want to directly cultivate mana, could you imagine if such a thing was possible...wouldn't that mean they could use all elements? Wouldn't that mean they…..hahahahaha it's just to insane to say out loud…..hahahahahaha directly mana….."
As Aker listened, he couldn't help but feel like he just heard something crazy.
Enjoy......
