Chapter 2: A Nightmare
"You are cursed... I will come back and kill you...We will destroy your puny cities and kill every puny human that is alive, " whispered a voice in Ray's ears and laughed demonically.
Ray slowly opened his eyes to find himself sitting on a chair bound by a thin rope. The room was dark with only a ray of light from the window in the corner of the room. In front of him, stood the vampire he just fought.
"You bastard, open me up and see how I cut you into small pieces and feed it to my dogs," yelled Ray.
"You are weak, you can't even touch me, killing is just off the topic, " laughed the vampire.
"You son of a bi*ch...get me out of this or I will hunt you down and finally slay you as I had slain your brothers and sisters, " spat Ray on his face.
"Young man, you have too much anger in you and I would be pleased and satisfied to make you suffer a life where you shall wish, Why wouldn't I killed you. You will beg for death but it will never come to you, You will always remember this, I am 'Vlad Dracula', and you will become my best experiment, " burst Dracula.
He slowly walked towards Ray and tore his shirt and drink his blood with his sharp, pointed fangs.
"Hmmm, you taste delicious. Your blood, it's sweet and thick like dark chocolate, " praised Dracula.
He then took out a syringe from his pouch that hung loosely and injected the needle of the syringe inside his wrist and slowly pulls up the lever, drawing out a specific amount of blood. He then took out the syringe. The needle glowed in the light that came from the window.
Dracula slowly injected the needle of the syringe inside Ray's body and slowly injected his blood into the nerves of Ray.
He yelled but did not beg to stop. His pride stopped him from begging to a disgusting vampire. His mind went back into time...
"Mom, Dad... I am home, " shouted a boy of 15 years.
A man in Mid-Thirties came running towards him, blood dripped from his wrist and neck.
"Dad! What happened to you?" squealed the kid.
"R...Ray...Ru..n...Run my child...he will...k...ki...ll...yo...u, " struggled the man.
"But, How can I run? Where I will go?" questioned Ray as tears trickled down his face.
"Ta...ke...th...is...an..d...runn!!!" yelled the man as he took his last breath.
"No! Dad." cried Ray as he took a silver card from his dad's hands. He knew what it was, a credit card that his dad's bank issued.
From inside a shrill voice interrupted him as he tried to escape.
"Kid, you have disrupted me. Now die!" yelled a vampire who wore a shroud. His silvery grey hairs fall till his neck and his pale skin glowed.
Ray ran away without even looking backwards. He ran until he thought that no one was following him.
"You will soon start to hate your life and beg for your death, " warned Dracula.
"(Snapping out of his thoughts)... It will never happen, " assured Ray.
"It will happen and until then... farewell," reassured Dracula.
Ray woke up from his nightmare and started sweating profusely.
"So, you are awake, Ray Wilson." asked a feminine voice.
Ray scanned his surroundings. He was on a bed and a thin blanket was placed over his body. Bright sunlight came from the windows.
The unfamiliar surroundings made his mind very Calm and Peaceful.
"Where am I?" he blurted.
"You are in the hospital, Alive but injured, " answered a girl.
Ray turned towards her and started staring her. Her eyes were blue in colour that had a glistening spark in them. She wore thin glasses that enhanced her personality. Her body glowed in the sunlight. Ray was just staring her directly making eye contact.
It seemed like he was spellbound by her beauty. His heartbeat increased gradually and started paining. He never had such experience in several years. His eyes glowed and one could easily understand by his looks that he was in love.
"Who...Who are you?" ray flinched.
"My name is Emma Hendricks and I am an A-Class Hunter appointed by the CCV Headquarters to work as your assistant. I joined yesterday only and was informed today, in the morning that you are admitted in the hospital. So, I drop by to check on you" answered Emma.
"Hmm I see, Thank you for your concern Miss Emma, I am looking forward to working with you, " said Ray.
"The pleasure is all mine, Sir umm..."
"Uh... You can call me Ray, "
"Ok, Sir, "
"Just Ray, no sir or mam, "
"Ok, Ray. I think you should rest now. I will come again at lunchtime, " said Emma as she stood up and went outside.
"He's so handsome and charming. I felt like spellbound by his way of talking and his looks, " thought Emma and chuckled.
"Hmm, that's a heck of a girl she is. But, I really felt something I never had in several years. I must keep an eye on her." whispered Ray to himself.
He again laid down and fell asleep. He knew that he has to rest to get well soon and again rejoin his duty. He had sworn to kill each and every vampire, he crosses paths with and one day finds the Vampire that killed his parents.

The moon gave a silvery glow to the darkness of night. As usual, no one was out on the streets as it was midnight. The predators were in search of their preys, on the other hand, Vampire Hunters were on their usual hunt. Like every night, the towns and cities became the battlefield. Where the hunters were able to slay a few vampires, The Vampires slaughtered several of them by draining the blood from their bodies.
A man who had worn a dark shroud was gazing upon the sky soothing himself by the breeze that blew past him. He cleaned his blood stained teeth with his hands, revealing a pale skin.
"It's time now... That guy, Ray must die, " he whispered to himself.
"Or better, he must also lead a life that we are forced to, " interrupted a voice from behind.
"My lady, you must not have come out and stayed back, " said the shrouded figure.
"Don't worry, Marcus. I am fine. Let's go now, " ordered the voice.
"Yes my lady, your wish is my command, "
