"Th-The Village Hidden In The Mist was A-Attacked" The intelligence officer stated in panic.
"WHAT!" Everyone else in the room had the same reaction while Tsunade jumped to her feet, grabbing the poor officer by collar bringing him face to face with his seemingly furious Kage.
"What do you mean the Mist was attacked? What had happened to them?" Practically yelling tsunade had used a bit too much force and almost dislocated the poor man's shoulder.
Regaining his bearings he tried to explain what he had heard from another intelligence officer from the mist who had immediately informed the other villages.
"The Mist was attacked not more than four hours ago Hokage-sama, they had reportedly seen storm clouds during the past few days and believe the enemy was using a Lightning style Justus as cover to invade from the ocean without being seen or heard." As he finished explaining sweat had started forming on his forehead he could see the apparent rage in Tsunade's eye's and he had feared she would truly end up ripping his arm from his shoulder. 'Please don't kill the messenger Hokage-sama.'
Seeing the look in her subordinates face Tsunade realized that she had gotten too worked up. Although it was a mistake no one could blame her, the war had just ended and everyone had just began to get used to the calm. Sighing she let go of the officer and slumped back into her chair, 'aahh there's that migraine'.
"What were the casualties? You said it was a lightning style suspected of being used right? Do they think it was the work of the Raikage?" Although the Raikage had the 2nd worst temper and most rash out of the current hokage she didn't believe they would start a war, at least not during the recovery period otherwise because of the alliance the other villages would intervene while the aggressor would be kicked from the alliance and have to deal with 4 other villages.
Instead of the immediate answer Tsunade had expected she received nothing but silence. The intelligence officer said nothing just kept his head low and if one looked closely they could see the slight trembling of his legs.
After a few moments he lifted his head and reported the final bits of information he had received. "No casualties have been reported Hokage-Sama but-"
"If there are no casualties then why is the report such an urgent matter, the mist is known for having issues within their own ranks, it's probably just another civil war in the making and they hired some mercenaries from the land of grass."
It was true no one could deny that fact. The land of rain was too divided politically not because of poor leadership but simply because of two things; Geography and the greed for power. The Land Of Rains geography was special although the village hidden in the mist was apart of the mainland most of their territory consisted of the surrounding islands which were then lead by a mayor of types or a noble. The surrounding waters consist of whirlpools and strong currents, not to mention the thick fog all year round navigating through the sea is extremely difficult unless one knows the way the water works. The islands are a perfect natural defense from both the mainland and invasion from the sea which leads to greed.
Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi all know this well and have seen the suffering of the people that were not assisted during the time 'genzo' took control of the small island in the land of waves, murder, Kidnapping, rape, and starvation were all common occurrences throughout the land of waves.
But this wasn't that...
Falling to his knees, head slamming against the floor. "Hokage-sama it was not a civil war but just a single man. A single man was reported to have come from the sea and started attacking, three of the main islands were defeated within the first hour and then he began to head to The Mist. 47 Gennin, 13 Chuunin, and Three jounin were defeated until the Mizukage took action. She had managed to lead him to another island where there wouldn't be anyone to interfere."
Still not understanding what was so urgent about this she just brushed it off "So The Mizukage had to intervene just let her play around a little bit, just because she had to beat someone up personally doesn't mean she had to worry all of us like this"
"NO! The Mizukage was defeated... within 30 minutes the man had came back to the village with the unconscious Mizukage."
"What!" Tsunade was the one with the most knowledge regarding the Mizukage, having earth, water, and fire for her chakra nature had made her the most diverse ninjutsu user of the current Kage. 'Most likely only myself and the Raikage have The ability to take her on but winning? Maybe 65% chance but under 30 minutes...'
Continuing his report "We were told That he is being described as 187 cm tall, relatively long brown spiky hair, brown eyes with strange pupils, and a two inch scar running through his left eyebrow"
By the end of the report everyone had heard a loud gasp, Turning their heads it seemed the one responsible for it was none other than Hinata.
Both hands flew to her mouth, her eyes no longer looking towards Naruto but towards the large window behind the homages seat starting out into the view with nothing but confusion surprise and... Hope?
"What is it Hinata do you know something?" Naruto asked, there weren't a lot of times that she had showed much emotion since the war had ended and he couldn't help but feel partially guilty.
Hearing someone calling her Hinata turned to the direction of the voice only to see Naruto's face only a few inches away from her own, her face slightly heating up she didn't know what to say, "ahhh oh- no I was just shocked sorry...." her voice grew quieter and quieter by the second until it was no longer audible but she couldn't help but remember something that had happened during the war. 'There's no way it him he should be dead shouldn't he..'. Not having the courage to speak her thoughts she shook her head and decided that it was nothing.
