Chapter 12: XII Readying for the ride

I talked to the librarian for about 15 minutes before we searched for a map of the road to the sapphire mountain. We spent about an hour searching through the library before he pulled out an ancient scroll that was covered with a thin layer of dust. I looked at the map and measured the distance from the great Neoran forest to the city of Draconia and then compared the length to the distance between Draconia and the sapphire mountain. after about 5 or 6 minutes calculating I was able to determine that it would take about three days even with a drisk. I decided to go on the journey. After spending about 10 minutes packing, I was ready to leave when Volcar entered the garage asking if I was going somewhere. I told him the whole thing I had learned from my research and he said that I could take a drisk that I hadn't seen before. He told me it was the fastest drisk in Draconia but no one uses it due to the fact that no one could figure out how to drive it except for the last person to wield the blood blades. He told me that he had been found dead in the drisk about halfway between the city and the silver lake. He also told me what he knew about it's equipment(which included a grappling hook, wall climbing hooks, and a built in parachute) and said that it probably had more equipment but those were the only things he had seen it use. I thanked him for it and bid him farewell before I climbed into it to take my leave.
