Chapter 7: BEWARE
Y/n was about to open the gate when a loud honk from the back interrupted. She looked back. It was Zayn, smiling at her. She smiled back and moved to the side. Zayn had never offered her a lift to the college and thus she wasn't expecting him to do so that day. But to her surprise, Zayn stopped the car and opened the front seat door. Confused, Y/n looked at him and questioned, "What?". "Hop in! We're gonna be late.", Zayn answered. "Uhm..It's fine. I already have booked a cab, so-". "Cancel it.", Zayn interrupted. He got out of the car and grabbed Y/n's hand gently. "Cancel the cab. You're going with me. Now sit here. We're already late." The sudden change in Zayn did make Y/n feel suspicious but look how oblivious she was! Thinking that everything had been sorted out, she just shrugged it off.
Everyone was in awe. Whispers had surrounded both of them. It was a huge shock for the students including Zayn's friends. No one could believe that Y/n had come with Zayn in his car. Zayn took Y/n's hand and got her out of the car. "OMG! Are they together?". "What the heck! Does Gi knows about it?". "Don't worry she is not that good to be Zayn's girlfriend". Soon the whispers became louder enough for Y/n to hear. Unbothered Zayn took Y/n and entered the college.
"Don't mind them. They're just jobless.", Zayn tried to comfort Y/n who could not even process the things that happened. Zayn had always been in the limelight. But for Y/n, everything was new and hard. Moreover, everybody mistaking them for a couple was acting like fuel to the fire. "Seems like you're used to it.", Y/n took out her books from the locker. "Of course! Being in the spotlight 24/7 is not easy, you know?! Anyways, I have to go somewhere. Catch up with you later." "But it's Mr. Brown's class-", Y/n was in the middle of her sentence when Zayn left the hall waving his hands. "This boy!", Y/n last time looked at him and went to the class.
"What the fuck is going on Zayn?", the studio was on fire. The whole band was in shock and was attacking Zayn with questions after questions. Zayn on the other hand was calmingly tuning his guitar. He barely gave any attention to them. There was one more person who was sitting on a corner, watching the fuss. It was Liam. Liam had got some idea about Zayn's "master plan". Although he always took Zayn's side, this time he wasn't. Because of some odd reason, he couldn't tolerate Zayn messing with Y/n's feelings.
"Seriously You and that... THAT girllll??? Zayn, what happened to your taste?" And what if Gi gets to know about it.", Harry was shouting at this point. "She has probably known about it. I mean, c'mon the whole campus has seen them.", Louis added. Hearing their conversation, Zayn burst into laughter. "Guys relax. Do you really think me and that girl ... HAHA... Oh please, my standards are not that low to date a girl like her. I just want to show Y/n her place (pointing at the ground).", Zayn smirked. "You're going to regret this Zayn.", Liam got up from his seat and came to them. "This is not funny at all.', Liam had enough of all these. He couldn't agree to Zayn in this plan. Instead of reflecting upon Liam's words, Zayn took it in the wrong way, "Well I am having fun. And why are you getting so mad? Don't tell me that you have feelings for that nerd!". "It's not like that.". "If it's not like that, then stop getting offended. " "You keep disrespecting her and expect me to not get offended? Zayn, you don't have to love her but at least for the sake of humanity have the minimum respect for her." "What?! (Laughing like a maniac) Respect ? Did you just say respect? Liam, she doesn't even deserve to be my maid and you want me to respect her." "ENOUGH ZAYN!!". Liam lost his patience and left the place immediately. Zayn was crossing his line and Liam knew that discussing with him would produce no positive result. Thus it's best for Liam to avoid the situation.
It's getting hard for Y/n to focus that day. The girl who had never loosen her attention in the class was now deep into her thoughts. She could feel the stares from the very moment she entered the room. Taunts were coming to her from the back. No matter how hard she tried to ignore them, her mind was going into that situation again and again. But strangely she was having an unknown happy feeling as well. The way Zayn held her hand and comforted her. It gave her a sweet feeling.
A soft tap on her shoulder brought her back to the world. It's Ashley. She noticed Y/n and her wandering mind. Y/n looked around. The class was over. Prof.Rayn was cleaning the board while all the students were leaving the class one by one. "What happened? Where have you been?", Ashley asked. "Actually... I-", Y/n stuttered. Ashley already knew about the situation. She's a person of few words. Not wanting to give a big lecture to Y/n, she just said one thing handing the class notes to Y/n, '"BEWARE".
