Chapter 5: Trapped
So during my weapons training, Ayden took us outside to do a spar.
I rather enjoyed dueling and sparring now it was a way to release all the anger confusion and fear going on in my mind. We get into positions and then he takes the first jab I block him and turn the blade, but he is expecting that and he takes me by surprise and takes back his sword while my hand flies willy-wonka.
He jabs again just when I regain my balance and to avoid the blow I jump back then he swirls around grabbing my shirt and hair with the sword to my throat I hesitate then use the butt of my sword I land the blow straight in the rib cage, he hunches over and releases me I escape and kick him down.
He tries to make me fall, but I step on his chest and hold the tip of the blade to his throat. He laughs then I release him from under my foot and he makes me fall over I land on top of him he lets out a painful gasp I think that hurt him more than it hurt me.
"Ana you are doing much better than when we started this training. You have learned a few moves," Ayden said,
"Only a few I just wiped your behind," I said
"Ha ha ha ha," Ayden said,
"If I had been trying you would be out cold."
"Yeah right I saw how you were struggling there," I said.
He laughed then I laughed and the next thing we know we are laughing like crazy people. Then we finally settle down and I hear a noise I turned, but seeing nothing I went next to Ayden
"So how about we practice hand to hand fighting."
"You must have a craving to get your butt kicked today by a girl if you want to fight me even more, but can I have I break first it is really hot and I am thirsty," I asked
He nodded his head and I walked over to where my water bottle was and took a long sip off the water. Then I heard the noise again, but still, nothing to be seen I returned to Ayden then it happened the man crept up on us and then he attacked.
An assassin.
As silent as the night, he crept up and struck hard with the butt of his sword right between my shoulders. I fell to the ground hard I tried to grab my sword but he kicked it to the other end of the arena Ayden grabbed his sword and tried to attack. While Ayden was fighting off the assassin I crept away and retrieved my sword from the other end of the arena.
As Ayden fell to the ground I crept up on the assassin and hit him with the butt of my sword he turned around as he fell to the ground with a heavy clunk. I retreated to the edge of the arena. I watched him get up from the ground he ran toward me just then another assassin dropped down and ran from the back of me, but when he was about to hit me, he stopped and grabbed me and put his hand over my mouth. I struggled and bonked him on the head, but not before I passed out.
