Chapter 1: The discovery

As I walked at the door for about the fifth time today ,something felt different something was odd this time. Like always mom was there to snap me out of my fantasy land. Like most days she simply said dont get messy in your outfit and be back by dinner. Yes mother, I called as I burst through the screen door. I knew immediately were i needed to go to find my answer. The speckled tree that me and my dad planted it's not really full grown but it's getting there. I always felt safe around this tree. One detail I should probably tell you is that my father died a month ago and he told me to find the clues around the tree. My mother thought he was delirious but me I thought it meant something or else why would he say it. so that's why everyday since he said those words yo me I came out here searching for clues. Today was different and I thought surely I would find something and just as I suspected I did. Not to fool you I did find something but it wasn't a clue it was just a family of caterpillars. I had realized my mom was calling me inside for dinner so I started to run so I could help set the table. As I was running I tripped over something so I wanted to remember that spot so I grabbed the nearest stick stuck it in the brown mud and ran the rest of the way inside. My two brothers Michael and Rafael were inside at the table. I didn't think they would be home today they both work at a wood shop that requires long hour that's were my father worked to they bearly spent any time at home wich left my mom in grief but she manages. we were having my favorite pork roast with freshly made bread. we said grace then dug in. when my plate was cleared and on the washing bucket I asked to be excused of course my mother said I may be excused. Hoping to find a clue I ran outside to the stick I stuck in the mud. desperate to find something I dug not very deep when I discovered a box. it was a tiny box about the size of a small log used for fire. I picked it up and washed it off with the washing water. when it was cleared with the mud I tried to open it but it was locked. I thought really had got a clue maybe mother was right he was just crazy.
