"What was that?!?", Jake frighteningly asked Caryn.
"Jake, jake!" Caryn firmly said, "relax! Let's go to Tiray's house."
Tiray lived 2 blocks away from Jake's place. They both lived in one of the quaint villages in Sta. Rosa, where houses looked the same and was fairly safe and well-maintained.
"Lola Pacing is at Tiray's, Caryn calmly said. "That thing you saw at your house wasn't your grandmother."
When they arrived at Tiray's, they all settled at the dining table as Jake told everyone about what happened. After which, Tiray, a forty-something salon owner, while pouring coffee in Jake's cup said, "and that's why I never went back!"
"What?" Jake asked, puzzled.
"I was fortunate enough to get out of that weird awful place as early as I can", Tiray mused. "You haven't told him anything?" Tiray asked, looking at Lola Pacing.
Lola Pacing sipped some coffee before looking into Jake's eyes and saying, "Anak, there are a lot of things I haven't told you because I thought we already got away from that life. But since all this is happening, let me tell you the truth."
"The truth?", jake said to himself, eager to hear what Lola Pacing has to say.
"Let me finish before you question anything. I will tell you what I know," Lola Pacing started, as she lit her cigar...
"You're parents did not die, Caryn is your sister, and Mikah has been lying to you all this time. "
Caryn and Jake looked at one another, trying to see the resemblance but couldn't find any. Jake was 5'5", dark skinned, had curly hair, and brown eyes while Caryn was much taller, fair skinned, had long straight hair, and black eyes.
Jake was about to ask about his parents when Lola Pacing continued, "Truth is, i do not know where your parents are. I just know they're still alive. I can feel it. You need to find them, Jake, find them! Go home, bring Caryn and the box with you." Lola Pacing instructed, as she took another puff from her cigar.
"I'm too scared to go back home, lola. What if that thing's still there???" Jake replied, still shook from the whole ordeal.
"Anak, that's not our home. Our home is further south, not here," Pacing replied, while looking at Caryn knowingly.
"Let's go jake! We have a looooot of work to do!" Caryn said, as she stood up.
"But who's Mikah?" Jake asked his grandma.
"I'll tell you about it in the car", Caryn said, as they headed out the door.
