Chapter 57: Torture my brother and sisters 57

I make my way back to my quarters and when I arrive I see Lae and Daisy sitting on the couch.
She is showing Lae the ribbons she bought while he held the little pug.
I smile. I can't believe they are a part of my life. I walk in and get the gift packages.
"Daisy, this is for you." I hand her the gift.
Her eyes go wide as she opens it. 'Thank you. I've never had a doll before. Look Lae a princess and her bear knight.' She is grinning ear to ear.
I then hand Lae his bag. "You did not need to get me anything. You have already done so much for Daisy."
"I wanted to, just open it." I say.
He slowly opens it and finds the leather bond book and the quills. I can not figure out what he is thinking. Does he hate this gift.
"I've always... wanted... my own book. This is so wonderful. Are you sure its for me?" He says.
I feel relief that he likes them. "Yes, I thought you could write about your life and the stories you hear."
"Thank you very much."
"Before I forget, There will be a man come by tomorrow at 1 to measure you for some clothes. You will need to look good to be my assistant." I say lifting his leg onto my lap. "You are supposed to keep this elevated."
"Sorry, I forgot."
"Dasiy can you go get our food"
'Yes, Lae take care of Jake.'
"I take it the dog is Jake?" I laugh.
"Yes, she loves the name. She will probably name her kid that too." He says.
I laugh, "You know the King's name is Henry well he was named after a pet rabbit."
"Really, now that is funny." Lae rubs his hands over the book feeling the smoothness of the leather.
"You really like it?" I ask.
"Yes, but I need to tell you something."
"Go ahead." I say.
"While I was sleeping I met a woman. She said her name is Mabel and she was once the Oracle."
"What did Mabel want now?"
"Now?"
"She may be dead but she is always around. She passed away before I was born. My sister was just a baby. She still was the teacher to Cindy and Lillian. She never goes away. Micheal, Cindy's husband can see her and says she get younger and younger."
"Then that explains why she looks so young. Well anyway. She came to me in my dream. She said there is great danger ahead and only I can save you. She told me to listen closely and remember, then she said this poem:
'When the Sun hides it's self in the day.
A friend will betray a friend I say.
Death will knock but only once.
Be smart and think don't be a dunce.
To save your heart you must try.
To use your gift of being sly.'
"What do you think it means?" He asked.
"I think you should write it down before you forget. The meaning can be different to each person. The sun that hides itself in the day could mean an eclipse or just a really rainy day. Only you can figure it out because it is part of your fate."
I sit and watch him ponder. He is so cute. Jake then wines. "I think this little one needs to potty I'll take him out. Tell Daisy I'll be right back." I pick the dog up and leave Lae thinking about his fated message.
What was Mabel up to. I take the dog out to the back court yard and let him run around a little. I needed to have a collar made with a lead that can be attached. My father Robert made one for Telinanna's rabbit so I know what it needs to look like.
After Jake does his thing I carry him back to find Lae and Daisy waiting at the table. She even had a small bowl of stew for Jake.
'Thank you for taking care of Jake. Can you show me were to take him after dinner?' Daisy asked.
"Sure, he is a very obedient dog."
We eat dinner and after everything is cleaned up I walked with Daisy out to the back courtyard.
'Thank you for today Ax. We have never had anyone but each other to care for us. I really like it here and I know Lae does too. Can I tell you a secret?'
"I will keep any secret you want to tell me."
She smiles really big. 'My brother and you are tied by a red string and both of you have gold and blue Auras that turn red when your next to each other.'
"You, liitle girl, are a reader. My birth mother was a reader also. Can you see other's auras too?"
'Yes, the gaurds over there is green and blue. Jillian's is green and black. Her aura scares me.'
"Do you know what the colors mean?"
'No, sorry.' She said picking Jake back up.
"It's Ok. Lillian can read auras and when we go back to visit you can talk to her about colors and what they mean."
'Really, that would be fun.'
"About the red string does your brother know about it?"
'No, I told him once I see colors and he said to stop making up stories so we never talk about it again.'
We get back and I take Jake so she can have a bath. Lae is sitting with his leg up writting in his book.
I sit down near him. He looks up and smiles. He then lays his head in my lap.
"I've been thinking." he said.
"About what?" I ask.
"About what we talked about. Fate making us fated love or what ever."
"And what about it?" I look down into his eyes.
"I want to get to know you better before I say yes or no to all this. I want to be honest and let you in my life also. Can you do that?" He asked. Jake is now snuggled in his arms.
"Yes, anything you want." I say.
"Ok first question, What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?"
"That is an easy one. Torture my brother and sisters by making my brother do things to them. Henry was easy to push and so was Anna. I could not push Cindy since she was an Oracle. The biggest prank I pulled was having Henry hide my sister's bunny in the flour barrel. It got me grounded for two weeks. I got punished alot but it was worth it back then. I guess that is why I have such good control over my power now and don't need Anna's help."
