When the woman, I just can not trust, left a maid came and I was little afraid to let Daisy go with her.
Ax stopped me from going along saying he needed me to help unpack his things.
Since we now work for him I could not refuse. 'Daisy if you run into any trouble please let me know.'
'I will, don't worry about me.' she said.
Ax takes me to a room and I start taking things out of a box. This box has a few books on war, strategies, and magical stuff.
I placed them all on a shelf and then noticed the last book. Botany I open it and it is all about flowers. I filp through it.
[Daisy is a flowering plant that belongs to the family Asteraceae. This plant is closely related to artichoke and arnica. There are around 4000 species of daisies that differ in size, shape, color and type of habitat. Daisy can be found on all continents except Antarctica. It usually inhabits grasslands, meadows, gardens, urban areas and areas near the roadsides. It can survive in both dry and wet habitats, but it prefers well-drained soils and a lot of direct sun. People cultivate daisies because of their simple but very attractive flowers. Unlike cultivated types of daisies, wild types easily reproduce and conquer new habitats. They are often resistant to pesticides and insects. Because of that, wild daisies occasionally act like weed that cannot be eradicated easily.]
"Would you like to borrow that?" He said.
"No was just curious what it was about." I say then but the book with the others.
"Any time you want to borrow any you are welcome to." He said.
The box had cloths of all colors. Why did anyone need so many cloths. I placed them in the draws.
He had things that would just sit getting dusty and things I did not even know what they were for.
"What is this for?" I hold a weird triangle object that you look through and has slides.
"It's called a sextant. You can find were you are and were you are going with it. Most of the time it's used by ships."He said.
He pulled me over to the window and opened it. "Look at that bright star." he said
"Turn this till something on the horizon lines up with that star. That then tells you how far away it is."
As he had his arms around me, my heart beat faster. I had to get away he was to close.
I shoved the device back at him and walked out. There was not much left and I heard Daisy come back.
I helped her get ready for bed and headed to my room. He was sitting at the big desk with a leather bound book and quill.
I slipped into my room. I took off the cloths so they would not be wrinkled and put on a night shirt that was left for me.
I let my mind wander from one thing to another but it always returned to Ax.
Why would a man so powerful care about his sister and him. Ax was a good looking man. A foot taller then I was. His sandy brown hair looked soft. I shook my head why would I care if his hair was soft.
I kept pushing my mind to think of other things. I then needed to use the toilet. I just hoped Ax was not still at the desk.
I opened my door and saw he was gone so walked over before I could open the door of the bathing room he walked out. I could smell a fresh clean scent off him. It made my mind go blank.
"Is everything all right?" he asked.
I shake my head yes, "Just needed to use the toilet."
"It's all yours." He smile at me.
That smile sent shivers down my spine. I was not looking were I was going. When I got to the middle of the room I slipped. The pain of landing on my ankle made me scream out. The next thing I know Ax has me in his arms carrying me to my room.
My ankle was red and it was swelling.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I did not see the water on the floor and slipped." I said. I know my face must be turning red.
He ran out to get a healer to look at it and it gave me a little bit to calm myself down.
The healer said it was a mild sprain and that it would be better in a few days.
"Want me to stay with you tonight incase you need to get up?" he asked.
"I still need to use the toilet. Can you help?" I really had to go now.
He scooped me up and carry me back to the toilet and help me steady myself as I relieves myself.
I see his face turning red at helping me. I guess it is really embarrassing to help another man pee.
He help me back to bed. "Thanks for your help. I think I'm all right till morning. Good night. "
He smiles at me and then slowly leaves me alone.
I so much wanted him to stay that but I needed some distance too. I was so confused.
The next morning I hobble to the table for breakfast.
'What happened?' she looked worried.
"I slipped and fell last night. It's just a mild sprain no big deal." I said.
"How are you feeling?" Ax asked.
"It's sore but better. I'll live."
"Rest today here. If you can walk better then you can start tomorrow."
"I'm sorry." I hang my head.
"Don't be sorry. It was an accident. I am just glad you are better this morning." He smiled at me and my heart beats faster.
Why was it that when he cares about me I feel this way.
He sets me up on the couch so Daisy can keep me company. I watch her tidy up and sit down with a book to read.
I smile, when she reads I can hear the story too. She has never been able to keep her mind quite reading.
I close my eyes and listen to her mind. Some how I fall asleep and I am woken up by someone carrying me.
I look up to see Ax. My heart beat is out of control.
"Your awake." He says. "I thought you would be more comfortable in bed."
He lays me down. I reach out to him to stop him from leaving.
"Do you need something?" He asked.
Did I? I don't know why I reached for him I just really did not want him to leave.
In the end I just shook my head no and smiled.
"Get some more rest. I'll have Daisy wake you when the food is ready." He said as he walked out.
