Chapter 49: Laevigatae 49

My name is Laevigatae. I hate my name. My mother was a whore and as me and my sister got older the abuse we endured was bad.
A few months ago when my sister Daisy turned 12 my mother wanted her to start working in the whore house so I ran away with her. No one was ever going to touch my sister.
We had been on the run a few days and have not eaten much, when I spotted a canavan stopped so I put my trade to work. I am a thief with the power to distract people.
My mothers boss used me to steal from the men that came to the whore house. Now I needed to use it to keep my little sister alive.
I had just found some dry goods that we could eat when I froze and could not move.
Then a man a foot taller then I and very muscular is asking me questions and I am answering him even though I don't want to.
When He release me I understand now he is a pusher like our Queen. With her powers she saved our world from a man who was killing others. I loved to hear the old stories that some of the old men would tell.
When he threatens to take me to prison I panic. What would happen to Daisy if this man takes me.
I try with all my might to distract him but it is not working.
Then he offered me and my sister a job. I just hope he is telling the truth.
He has me go get Daisy. As she is walking back with me.
'He feed me. He is nice.'
'When?' I ask in our mind.
'Earlier, Chicken it was good.'
'I told you to stay hidden.'
He already knew my sister so is he trying to use her like most men want to use her? I had to be alert and keep her safe.
"You both can ride in this wagon; It has my personal items in it." He says.
The driver looks at us like we are animals and he wants nothing to do with us but he says nothing.
Traveling like this is slow but it beats walking.
"So does your sister have a voice?" the man asked.
"No, she was born mute." I tell him ,"I don't think you told me your name?"
"I didn't." he laughed, "My name is Tenninax but everyone calls me Ax"
'He goes by a nick name to like you.' Daisy says.
"So your nick name is Lae. What is you full name?" He asked.
"My full name is none of your business. I hate it anyway." I say.
'His name is Laevigatae.'Daisy smiles.
"Laevigatae: a single white flowered rose. You were both named after flowers."
"Yah, Mom was a real hoot." I say.
"Where is your mother and father?"
"Mom works at a whore house. She likes it there. We don't know which man is our father but it doesn't mater we have each other."
"I see, won't your mom worry?" He asked.
"Yah, she will worry that I am not picking the pockets of the men coming around and that Daisy is not learning how to be a good whore. I could not let my sister become one."
"I understand now. The job's are real. Room and board will be given to you both. I will help look after both of you." He says.
Some how my mind is at ease with him. I believe he really wants to help us.
'Do you have a mom and dad?' Daisy asked.
"I have a birth mother and two fathers."
"What does that mean?" I ask.
"My fathers wanted children so my father Adam asked his sister to give birth to my sister and me. They used her eggs and my father Robert sperm. My birth mother is Queen Beth."
He was the Queens son. I can not believe I would ever meet someone like him. I was in awe.
As we ride along next to each other I had to ask, "Why are you helping us?"
"I'm not sure yet but I think we are meant to be." He said.
I was not sure what he was talking about. Soon we saw the Castle come into sight. Ax had to ride ahead to talk to men riding up.
When we finally stopped we climbed down and a gaurd came over to us.
"Follow me and I'll show you were you will be sleeping."
Daisy took my hand and we followed him in the front door and down a long corridor.
He opened a big door and we walked in. The room was huge. Desk, couches, tables, and lots of books.
"This is the Commander's main room. That door is his bedroom. This one is for one of you. That one is the other. That room there is the bathing and toilet room."
Then more guards came in carrying cases and boxes of thing, they placed them in the room the gaurd said was Ax's.
Daisy open the door to her room and she said, 'Come see this is the prettiest room I have even seen. Is it really all mine.'
"I think so we might want to wait for Ax to come first to make sure." I say.
Soon a girl comes in with some cloths. "Ax asked me to bring some dresses for a girl. He said you both need a bath and clean cloths." She handed Daisy the dresses.
She then pulled out some cloths from a box. "He said you could change into these after a bath."
"My name is Jillian. Ax and I have been friends since we were little. Let me know if you need anything." She said.
For some reason I did not like the way she looked at Daisy.
Daisy took her bath first. When she came out it took my breath away how pretty she really was.
"Wait in your room. Lock the door and only open it when I call you"
'Ok, do I look good?'
"Yes, very pretty."
It had been awhile since I was able to bath. Usually I got clean by swimming in the river.
The cloths were a little big but not as big as the old ones. I looked in the mirror.
There stood a young handsome man. I still felt like a child sometimes but I was full grown now. I combed threw my long hair getting out the tangles. I really should cut some of this off.
When I came out I found staring at me was Ax.
"Do I look bad?" I asked looking at my cloths.
"No... You are very handsome. I'll make sure to get you better cloths. Did your Sister get cleaned up too?"
I can only shake my head. His complement made me turn red and speechless.
