Chapter 5: New Home
After his Grandpa left Elijah went back to his apartment, it was a one bedroom apartment with a single bathroom, it was already furnished yesterday when they stayed at the hotel, stepping into the house it was a studio apartment with the bedroom straight ahead after entering and the bathroom to the left, with a 45' inch t.v hanging on the wall the kitchen had a electric cooker and a few plates and cutlery, the bedroom had a medium sized bed.
It was after washing up that he started to feel hungry Elijah headed to the kitchen but the refrigerator just hard a few vegetables and fruits, looks like he needed to head outside to eat ,it was evening and there were a lot more people on the road returning from work, going to diner.
Northampton is the county town of Northampton shire in the East Midlands of England . it lies on the River Nene north west of London and south east of Birmingham its one of the largest town in the UK.
Elijah heads to the nearest restaurant which was called Sixfields Pub, which looks like the owner is a big fan of the Northampton team, as he steps inside it was a nicely decorated place with lots of colors referencing the team and a big T.V which he guessed shows the game on match days, a middle aged woman with a warm smile wearing a black and white uniform walks up to him and ask
"You are new here?" he notice most people in the pub have their eye on him
"Yes I am just moved yesterday" he answered
Feeling that he looks a little nervous she smiles to assure him
"Oh good we have a new face tired of these boring old ones" she turns to look at the rest in pub
A few people laughed Elijah guess she is well liked
"Where you from?"
"Newcastle"
At this point he cant wait to get the food the hunger is starting to increase she notices he is not interested in the Q&A she switches to
"What will you be having?"
"Burger and chips with a glass of orange juice please" Elijah replies
She turns around and says
"Coming right up dear"
Most people went back to discussing about their lives he heard a few people talking about their expectation for the new season the bartender behind the counter who looks like he is about mid 40s years old replies
"We should be able to get a mid table finish the manager is used to the team by now"
The other guy with brown hair and this nose replies
"It depends on the summer transfers I heard we signed another player today Kenny" he said
The direction of thee conversation gets Elijah's full attention cause he is the new player
Kenny the bartender replies "Yes we did the club will announce tomorrow morning"
Elijah makes a assumption that Kenny is close to the club the fat guy beside the brown hair guy appears a little drunk says
"Kenny, Marc am sure we will be fighting to not be relegated they should be signing some good players not some young unproven ones"
Kenny sighs "They already signed Adebayo Akinfewa he should be a good addition to the team he has experience playing in league 2"
They continue discussing various issues.
Elijah finish his meal and head out back home he called his Mum to ask if Grandpa was back and they talked about how the day went with the club, it turned out to be another half sleeping night.
