Chapter 89: Indian Troops
Sonal entered her room, she was welcomed with a curious Jasmine. Jasmine needed some more water when Sonal was downstairs, so she helped herself to Sonal's fridge, only to find not only chilled water but some frozen delicious delicacies.
Jasmine I know that look, what are you curious about? Sonal asked. Well you didn't tell me you had some sweet delicacies in your freezer, we could have had those, now am so full, no space for it anymore, Jasmine spoke.
Oh that, I almost forgot I had those, well those are special treats but what makes you think they are sweet? Sonal asked. Well anything special is sweet to you, I had a hunch it was special, just needed to hear it from you yourself, Jasmine responded.
Well, let's freshen up, take a hot bath and change into our PJ's, I would tell you all about it, how those sweet delicacies ended up in my frizer and who is behind it, but promise me you would not cry, Sonal said. Okay I promise, am eager to hear your story, but perhaps I would guess now, it's probably a love story, Jasmine guessed.
You right Jass, Sonal responded. Oh my! but how did Yash come to terms with buying you sweet and delicious delicacies? don't tell me you gave him free commercial promos! well did you? Jasmine asked. Jasmine let's just freshen up, I will tell you all about it after that, anyway how did you get to guess right about the love story? Sonal asked.
Girl you my best friend, I know you so well, you get goose bumps when it has to do with love, and that smile of yours, it a million dollar smile, and wow, you have really fallen so deep for Yash, wasn't like this few weeks ago, Jasmine said.
Jass, I think I would freshen up first, when am done, you can freshen up too. Much later the girls had freshened up and changed into their Pajamas. Jass am feeling sleepy, can we just discuss about it tomorrow? Sonal formed sleepiness.
Oh no girl you won't escape this one, if you worried about me and my love life that I would get to break down again, girl you need not worry, infact you know how we always encouraged each other both in good and bad times? Jasmine asked. Well yes I remember, Sonal replied.
Then come on Sonal, entertain me with a good love story tonight, and I really want to hear how you and Yash became all lovey dovey, Jass said. Uhhhh! Sonal sighed and raised her two hands in the air then said, okay but promise me you won't freak out, that you would support my decision.
I promise Sonal, besides I have always supported you since when we were little kids, even that time you cried your eyes out, thinking aunty took away your birth mum's life, I supported you that you were right, now older, when you were on and off with Yash, I did support your decision, and so many others, this one won't be an exception, I would support you.
Just give me juicy romantic story, it makes me happy that other couples are in love, and it gives me hope each time, that my real prince charming will find me, not that idiotic Rohit, Jass became sad just thinking about how Rohit hurt her alot.
Oh Jass come on wipe your sad face, okay I will tell you my romantic story, cheer up girl, well it all started the night of the day me and mum rushed you to the hospital when you fainted at Zara's house, Sonal went on even to how she and Prakash earned the couples Golden card at White Chillies and how the delicious delicacies came about.
Well hold on, I will show you the couples Golden card, Sonal reached for one of her bags, took out the golden couples card, and showed it to Jasmine. Wow it is lovely, am happy for you girl but how do you end things with Yash? you yourself mentioned that you never loved him and your relationship has been on and off, Jass commented and asked.
With a smile on her face, Sonal replied Jasmine, my prince charming, my lovely Prakash, has assured me he would do that for us that I need not worry about Yash, and according to him, he would tell Yash to stay away from his girl, to stay away from me, how romantic.
And the way we kissed at the hospital the day we discharged you, it was remarkable, I love him Jass, I love that man so much. And you know all those dreams I have been having and not seeing the man's face, well the last dream I had, revealed to me that it was Prakash all along, and you know he is been having similar dreams as me.
His dreams are so clear, he saw my face each time, he always knew I would be his, oh Gosh I miss him already, I just hope dad doesn't punish him too much for being late at the hospital, Sonal said. Late to the hospital or being held up by you? Jass rhetorically asked. The girls both laughed at this point.
Girl go for what makes you happy, alright? I will support you all the way, and if you decide tomorrow you would be with Yash for the sake of family ties, well I would still support you, Jasmine assured and encouraged Sonal.
Thanks bestie, I always want the best for you, your prince will definitely find you, your one true prince girl, Sonal encouraged Jasmine. Thanks girl but why don't we get to sleep now, I don't want to keep you till very late, you have work tomorrow, Jasmine said.
Sonal yawned and replied, speaking of sleeping, am really sleepy this time, good night Jasmine. Good night Sonal, the girls slept. Sonal slept first but it took another 30 minutes before Jasmine finally fell asleep.
Meanwhile at the Military Base...
Prakash was the last soldier to get to his room, he ached all over, his punishment was severe. It was worth it, I can take all the punishment in the world for my heartbeat, he said to himself while still standing. He was glad he had won Sonal over, all he had to do now is find a way to expose Yash and make Sonal his, yes he had intentions of making her his wife.
What are you saying to yourself? Ajay asked. Just thinking about how Jasmine and Sonal are doing, he replied half truthfully. Oh thanks for thinking about Jass as well even in your present state, Ajay replied. Don't mention, what are friends for? Prakash replied guiltily.
He walked slowly, and sat down on Ajay's bunk, stayed like that for about 5 minutes then he said, Ajay please do you mind using the top bunk, my bunk, I don't think I can climb up tonight.
No problem, but buddy your punishment today was to the extreme, I think Major general Gevan is suspecting you hitting on his daughter Sonal again. I guess that is why you had several punishment today, Ajay replied.
Well buddy he can suspect all he wants, but he should be grateful am saving his daughter from that fraudster Yash, all he is interested in is her inheritance, he doesn't really love her, Prakash responded.
Well buddy just be careful, you have to bring proof, and not make baseless accusations, though you may be right, you need a strategy to present the proof to him, otherwise, you may fail even before you start, Ajay said.
Buddy I am right, am working on getting proof trust me, Inspector Rishi Gupta is helping me investigate Yash, collected a lot of proofs, I just need to compile them and find a way of getting it across to major general Gevan, Prakash replied.
Smart of you buddy, but man, you really in bad shape, today you could not join us for the drill because you were on punishment, and with the way your body aches badly, don't think you can join me and the guys tonight for our personal training session, Ajay spoke
You right Ajay, I would stay in the room tonight, and rest my bones, you know tomorrow, the military base would be testing the soldiers based on our abilities, inorder to select the ones that would travel to Africa, to help them fight their internal war.
Ajay agreed with Prakash and reminded him that their previous performances would also be put into consideration, and Prakash so far had done well for himself, that he is currently the best new recruit in the military camp. He also reminded him that Major general Gevan announced in the morning that those who will be chosen to go to Africa would return as Generals.
Thanks buddy for the encouragement, I am looking forward to you, Sagar, Pulkit and myself returning from Africa as generals, Prakash responded. Yes buddy, all four of us will make the promotion as commanders that would enable us to return as generals after we have fought as great soldiers for Africa and make Indian troop one of the finest that supported Sudan, Ajay agreed with Prakash.
I really need to lay down now and rest my bones, Prakash said. Oh yes Prakash, you should, I would climb up to the top bunk and rest till midnight before I join the other guys for our personal training, but before I do that, guess what? Ajay asked
Just tell me already, my body aches so much, I don't have that time to guess, I need rest buddy. Well buddy, on my way to general Bharat office, because he sent for me earlier, I overhead major general Gevan's two assistants discussing that since the troop will move to Africa next Saturday, we would have an early promotion ceremony on Friday next weekend.
Okay Ajay then what about it? Prakash asked. Well buddy they mentioned a few TV hosts that has been given the pass to cover the ceremony, you know not everyone is allowed to cover the promotion ceremony, so their respective TV stations brought a list of their representatives that would cover the ceremony.
Okay go on, Prakash urged Ajay. Sis in law Sonal Arora's name was mentioned, you know she works for Mehra TV, as one of their entertainment anchor! she would be representing Mehra TV and probably with an assistant, but the main point is you get to see sis in law again before we travel to Sudan next week.
Really buddy? Prakash asked excitedly. Yes Buddy, now this should be a motivation for you, no matter the pain you going through right now, because of the punishment that was mented on you as a result of your fake lateness today at the hospital, it doesn't matter, keep your eyes on the goal, first to Sudan, becoming a general and getting a beauty with brains for a wife, Ajay advised Prakash.
Thanks buddy, I would surely make it with the troop that will be sent to Sudan, am coming with the rest of you guys, but right now, I need to relax my bones and rest, Prakash said. You welcome buddy, alright my bunk is all yours, Ajay replied and climbed the top bunk. The two of them slept shortly.
While Ajay Woke up at midnight to go and train with the others, Prakash was left to sleep to have a proper rest ahead of the day's task. During the training, Pulkit and Sagar asked about how Prakash was fairing, Ajay told them, their worries for Prakash died down but deep down, they prayed that Prakash makes the troop that would fight for Sudan.
Their training continued and lasted an hour extra. Instead of training for three hours, they decided to train for fours hours. As at the time they got back to their rooms, it was already 4:30 am. It took them 30 minutes to walk to and fro their rooms to the training grounds and vice versa.
