Chapter 69: He Didn't Back Down On His Pursuit
After hearing this piece of information from Sonal, chills ran through Prakash, that even the little hairs on his body stood up to acknowledge that piece of information.
He didn't back down on his pursuit anyway, he had found his wife and he wasn't about to waste this opportunity that fate had brought his way.
He was ready to do anything for her including being punished severely by the major General Gevan.
Sonal didn't notice that the behaviour Prakash changed a little because it quickly went to normal almost immediately. She too had questions of her own, she wanted to know if Prakash was related to the Mehras.
Speaking of the Mehras, what's your relationship with them? she asked. Just as Sonal didn't hesitate to answer his question, Prakash didn't hesitate to answer hers as well.
Am their heir, he paused and continued. I have always loved the military ever since I was a little boy, hence am right here at the military base, but I intend to quit the military a year after I get married and return home to take over Mehra Conglomerates.
That is cool, and what about Mehra TV and the other affiliates of Mehra Conglomerates? Well am not greedy, if my younger ones Yuvi and Desha are interested, I could let them run the affiliates.
After coming to know how thoughtful, an elder brother Prakash was, Sonal subconsciously moved closer to him. Speaking of younger ones, have spoken to Desha and your mum, couple of times and they are really nice. I haven't come across Yuvi nor your dad.
Prakash was surprised after hearing that she Sonal has been in communication with his mum and lil sis. So he curiously asked, you have spoken to my mum and Desha? how come? do you know them?
Yes, she answered. She then went ahead to explain about the time she bumped into his mum at Delhi Mall, and how she got employed by Mehra TV as their new entertainment anchor and how she had to work with Desha because of Desha's PR roles at the forthcoming convocation at Delhi University and how she will be the entertainment anchor in charge for Mehra TV on that day.
When Sonal was done, Prakash was impressed, his future wife is smart and hardworking. He hadn't explained much about himself to Sonal, he preferred she saw him in action either as a military personnel or when he returns home to take over the duties of Mehra Conglomerates as it's rightful heir.
He felt if he says too much, it might be a turnoff and Sonal might feel he is bragging about it, so he choose his words carefully. After listening to Sonal, he replied, wow that is great. Thanks Prakash, Sonal replied. You welcome Sonal, Prakash responded.
At this point, Pulkit felt left out, he wished Sonal had brought a 2nd friend, that way he would be talking with her instead of drinking wine all by himself.
Some of his female military admirers did use the opportunity to talk to him but he wasn't Interested, he didn't want to pass the wrong information to them that they were now in a relationship, so he declined their offer of a conversation and remained on the safe side.
Some of the other male comrades who initially wanted to make advances towards Sonal and Jasmine became jealous when they saw that Sonal and Jasmine where conversing with Prakash and Sagar.
In their jealousy, to get Prakash and Sagar into trouble, they went ahead to inform the major general Gevan about the situation and even lied that Prakash and Sagar were misbehaving with his precious daughter and her best friend.
This got major general general Gevan furious that instead of sending for Sonal and Jasmine to retire for the night, he went personally to the entertainment Lounge to get the girls out himself.
When he got there, in his furious state, he did not wait to access the situation, if indeed Prakash and Sagar were misbehaving with his precious daughter and her best friend, he just ordered that both Prakash and Sagar be ceased and thrown into the military dungeon.
After Prakash and Sagar were ceased, he ordered for military security guards to protect his daughter and her best friend and Instructed that they be securely taken to their rooms to retire and rest for the night.
Sonal did try to explain the situation to her father, major general Gevan, but he would not hear any of her explanations, instead he continued his orders, take them to the dungeon now, torture them that they would have no interest in harassing women from hence forth.
Prakash and Sagar did not protest, they knew that their case might get worsened if they tried, so they willingly allowed themselves to be thrown into the military dungeon. If major General Gevan did not even listen to his own daughter, who were they for him to listen to?
When Sonal and Jasmine were safely escorted to their room, major general Geven even made sure they had security guarding their door, for extra safety.
In their room, Sonal cried softly, Jasmine felt bad for the arrested comrades but she didn't cry, she only tried to comfort her best friend Sonal. She wished she could do something more than just comfort Sonal, but there was nothing else she could do.
Even the major general Gevan didn't yield to the pleas of his precious daughter, he didn't want to hear any of her explanations, he just went ahead to arrest the comrades, Prakash and Sagar respectively. She is not so close to the major general, just looking at him sometimes, sends chills to her body.
When they arrived at the military base earlier on, at the major general's office, she was a bit calm because her best friend Sonal was with her and the major general had smiles on his face, happy to see them both.
If she made any attempt to go speak to him concerning the case, now that he is is furious, she was afraid that not only will the major general not listen to her but she would get herself into trouble.
So she opted to just trying to comfort her best friend Sonal. For Sonal to cry for the arrested comrades, Prakash in particular, she already knew she had a soft spot for him. She became worried that the situation with Yash will get messy in the future if and when the major General finally finds out.
Now that he knows nothing about her feelings for him, he arrested both him and his buddy, what if he now finally gets to know! At this thoughts, she began to shiver a little, chills went through her spine.
She almost couldn't stand when she tried to get cold soft drinks from the fridge in their room for both herself and Sonal who had stopped crying by now but had red eyes and whose light make up had been smudged away by her tears.
Jasmine got to the side of Sonal with 2 bottles of soft drinks in her hand, she took one and stretched the other to Sonal. Here you go, she said, thanks Jasmine, Sonal replied as she took it from her hands.
The best friend duo both drank their drinks in silence. When they finished their drinks, Sonal then thought of the idea of sneaking out to go see the prisoners at the dungeon, but later knocked off the idea of doing that.
Jasmine had advised her of how dangerous it is, that her father, the major general will be disappointed in them and that it won't look good on her father as the Major general in charge of that army base if peradventure they got caught.
They decided to sleep over it instead and hope that the prisoners will be released the next day before they leave the army base and head back to town, to civilization.
In the military dungeon...
Prakash and Sagar had been whipped several times to the point where there backs began to bleed. They were currently chained to the dungeon walls. The dungeon was dark and quite at this time and was like a grave yard.
At intervals, any sound that came out of the mouths of Prakash and Sagar, was pain. major general Gevan had instructed the prison guards to whip them from to time, but for now they were made to rest and prepare for the next round of whipping session. This would be done till the next day.
They would be released the next morning to join the rest of their peers for the drills and training session. Major general Gevan had decided on this decision because no harm came to the girls after all and they would be leaving for town, for civilization the next day.
Out there in the dead of the night, the training grounds lay cold. Ajay and Pulkit stayed back in their rooms, their buddies Prakash and Sagar had been arrested, whipped and thrown into the military dungeon.
It pained them so much, when they later discovered that it was the jealous comrades who had always tried to pick fights with them at several occasions, that purposefully gave false information to the major general Gevan, which got their buddies in the dire state they were now in.
They decided that they would deal with them later. After Prakash and Sagar has been released, Ajay and Pulkit decided they would brain storm with them and decide on how to deal with them. They had no idea when, they could only hope it was soonest.
The next morning Prakash and Sagar were released. Before they were allowed to join their peers, major general Gevan had given issued a warning to them not try and go close to either his precious daughter Sonal or her best friend Jasmine both now and in the future.
They acknowledge his warnings and went ahead to train with the rest of the comrades. Ajay and Pulkit were glad to see Prakash and Sagar but the jealous comrades who got them into trouble were not pleased.
They only could put smiles on their faces when they saw that the performance of Prakash and Sagar had dropped. And this dropped because of the pain they were currently feeling, caused as a result of the whipping they got in the military dungeon.
At this point Sonal and Jasmine were already ready for their trip back to civilization. They had packed the light bags they brought. They came out of their rooms and went to the military convoy guarded by military security.
They didn't wait too long before Major general Gevan came around to say goodbye to them especially his daughter. News had already reached them that the prisoners were released, through one of the security they asked, so Sonal didn't think it wise to ask her father, Major general Gevan about them.
After the brief goodbye session between father and daughter duo, the military convoy moved and was on its way to the airport where the girls will be on board on the plane and back to civilization. Sonal had already booked their flights online. When she was booking their flights in Delhi, she also booked their return flight.
