Chapter 68: The Major General Is My Father
Prakash and his buddies caught wind of the ruckus from where they were, at the other end of the military entertainment Lounge. They too wanted to know who the beauties were, to see their faces.
Amidst their curiosity, Ajay's crush/girlfriend approached them. She had never approached them directly before, although Ajay had introduced her at one point to his buddies.
She greeted her boyfriend and his buddies and excused him from their presence. As soon as they were leaving, his buddies hailed him and his girlfriend and urged them to go and spend longer time with themselves.
According to Ajay's girlfriend, she had a surprise for him. He did not suspect one bit that his sister was around with her best friend and that they were the ones who caused a ruckus amongst his fellow comrades earlier on.
Ajay and his girlfriend moved and was getting closer to the other end of the entertainment Lounge. Ajay then asked her, why must we go to the other end of the entertainment Lounge?
It's worth it, she replied, but she almost ruined the surprise because of her excitement to have been the one to tend to Ajay's sister Jasmit/ Jasmine and her best friend Sonal, the major general Gevan's daughter.
Initially when Sonal and Jasmine had asked her for this favour, she was mad at Ajay, she thought that one of them was Ajay's girlfriend from outside the military base.
But as she interacted with the girls more, she became relaxed to have discovered that Jasmine was Ajay's sister and Sonal was her best friend who didn't seem to be romantically interested in her Ajay.
As she helped them with their surprise plan, she didn't introduce herself to them as Ajay's girlfriend, she wanted Ajay to introduce her to them as his girlfriend when eventually the surprise will be uncovered.
After hearing his girlfriend's response, Ajay didn't ask anymore about the surprise, he also found it as an opportunity to find out what the ruckus that happened earlier on was about.
He rather asked her about the ruckus, but she cleverly distracted him with kisses. As soon as she sealed their lips, he forgot what he was asking her about as he savoured in on the sweet lips of his girlfriend.
As they kissed, the comrades around them cheered them, to carry on. They kissed for few minutes before his girlfriend broke apart their lips and had to remind him that he was yet to see his surprise.
Ajay wanted to continue but she promised him they would resume later once he had gotten to see his surprise. She didn't want Sonal and Jasmine to wait for them any longer.
Ajay and his girlfriend continued moving, soon after, they got to where Sonal and Jasmine were. As soon as he saw them he was so surprised that he hugged his girlfriend tightly for the wonderful surprise and thanked her.
If not that Sonal and Jasmine were there he almost locked their lips. He restrained himself, and made a mental note that he would Introduce his girlfriend to them first before locking lips with her in the future in their presence.
He broke off the embrace from his girlfriend after thanking her and hugged his sister and her best friend briefly. After the hugs, in the midst of the excitement in the air, he Introduced his girlfriend to them first before asking his sister how everyone was fairing back home.
Sonal, Jasmine? This is my girlfriend Preeta. Preeta? This is my sister Jasmit and her best friend Sonal. The girls all shook hands and exchanged pleasantries all over again on the basis of the new information.
How is mum and dad? Grandpa and Grandma and everyone back home? Ajay asked. Everyone is fine big bro Ajay. When did you arrive the military base? This afternoon around 2:30pm, Sonal was coming here today so I tagged along with her to see you.
Thanks Sonal, I really missed my sister and everyone back home. You welcome big bro Ajay, Sonal replied. But we would leave the military base tomorrow, I have to get back to work.
Yes big bro Ajay, Sonal has to get back to work and I have an interview to prepare for. I have been working with dad these past few weeks at White George Corporation and he has thought me a lot about office matters.
I Wish you good luck on your interview lil sis Jasmine. Thanks big bro Ajay. By the way, which company did you apply to and for what position? Ajay asked.
Jah company and I applied for the Management Trainee's Position, Jasmine replied. Really Jasmine? Jah Company? Ajay asked. Yes big bro Ajay. Is there something you know about the company you need to tell me?
Yes lil sis, one of my buddies, Sagar Jah, his father is the Owner/CEO of Jah company, if you need any help, I can get him to help you secure the position. I know you smart, but a little help from him isn't such a bad idea.
Thanks big bro, you can get him to help me with the pointers on how to ace interviews over there at Jah company. Okay lil sis, by the way, my buddies are at the other end of the entertainment Lounge, let's go meet them, so I Introduce the both of you to them.
At the other end of the entertainment Lounge, Prakash who was lively in discussing with his buddies suddenly froze. His buddies, Sagar and Pulkit wondered what had happened to Prakash. They even called out to him Prakash!! but no response from his end.
It was not until they traced their eyes towards the direction his eyes was that they realised what was happening. They then looked at themselves and asked themselves questions which non of them had answers to.
Is that sister in law? I mean which of them? But how come she is here? Prakash couldn't have invited her, or maybe Ajay did, but how did Ajay know her?
As Ajay came closer with the girls, he too wondered what had come over Prakash. When they were really close, Sagar said to Pulkit, they look familiar, but where have we seen them before?
Pulkit looked at them properly and replied, yes they do look familiar. He thought for a while and continued, yes I remember now, that day at White Chillies, they were leaving as we were getting into the restaurant.
Yea that is it, Sagar replied, if only Prakash had gotten out of his car on time that day, he would have gotten to know more about sister in-law on time. Yes that is true, Pulkit replied.
He then tapped Prakash for him to snapped out of his frozen state. Prakash shook a little, but his gaze was still on Sonal. Pulkit then asked, that is sis in-law right?
Yes Pulkit, that is my future wife, the future madam Mehra. Thanks to Ajay she is here but how did he know her? Well he is almost here we would find out soon enough, replied Prakash.
But Prakash, you could have easily asked detective Rishi Gupta to get info on her a long time ago. I know Pulkit, but I don't like the idea of investigating my precious. Investigating her and that criminal side by side doesn't suit her, it's demeaning to her. Fate has brought us face to face together, l thank God for that.
Not long after, Ajay and the girls reached where Prakash and his buddies were. Prakash and his buddies already knew who Preeta was, so Ajay just introduced his sister Jasmine and her best friend Sonal to them instead.
Nice to meet you comrades, Sonal and Jasmine both exchanged pleasantries with Prakash and his buddies. Nice to meet you too beauties, they responded.
All this while during exchange of pleasantries, The eyes of Prakash never left Sonal. Sonal didn't notice at first the behaviour of Prakash until Jasmine brought it to her knowledge with special signs best known only to the best friend pair.
That is the thing about them, even back then in high school, any guy who makes advances at them, the friend who is not being made a move at gets to know what the opposite sex wants. That was when they came up with a special sign to inform themselves each time it happens especially when in public.
Immediately after understanding the info her best friend, Jasmine passed accrossed to her, Sonal blushed shyly and made an effort to look Prakash in the eyes. Immediately she did that, she froze too.
Her heart skipped several times, Prakash looked, she looked, they both looked at each other, the atmosphere between them was as if they were the only ones in the room and that they needed to be drunk with the view of each other.
Sonal had never for one day, looked at Yash like that, she never really like him anyway. It was an arranged relationship which she wished at that moment never existed.
This beautiful site between the lovers that were not lovers was interesting to look at but it didn't last long. Love was in the air but Ajay had to continue the introductions, time was not on their side.
Sonal and Jasmine will soon retire for the night, he knew very well that Major General Gevan would send for them at one point to go and rest because of their trip back to town the following day.
Ajay cleared his throat three times before Prakash and Sonal broke their gaze away from each other. He then continued to Sagar, and explained the situation about his sister.
Sagar my lil sis Jasmine has applied to your company for the Management Trainee's Position, I would like you to give her some pointers on how to ace the interview.
Is that so Ajay! He exclaimed as he looked at Sonal. Yes Sagar, Ajay replied, why don't you two sit somewhere and talk. Jasmine and Sagar then sat to talk.
As Sagar was giving her some pointers, Ajay excused himself to go be with Preeta his girlfriend, to continue where the left off with the kisses from earlier on.
As they left, Prakash urged Sonal to come closer to come sit with him. Sonal like an obedient damsel, obeyed without any complaints. She came closer and sat close to him shyly.
As she sat, he Introduced himself again, am Comrade Prakash Mehra but you can call me Prakash, nice to meet you again, he stretched forth his hands towards her, she took his hand, shook it and replied, am Sonal Arora, and nice to meet you too.
Prakash continued, you are really beautiful Sonal. Sonal blushed and replied, thanks comrade, I mean Prakash. Are you by any chance related to the major General Gevan? Considering you share same Sur name, Gevan asked. The major general is my father, Sonal replied.
