Chapter 53: Sunita Had Recovered Very Fast
Rohit and his assistant sat on the long bench, in the waiting area outside of the ward Sunita was admitted into.
They did not finish their breakfast because they had to be in the hospital. They have been waiting for a long time now for Sunita to wake up.
Rohit even tried to go to the canteen inside the hospital to get food to eat for himself and his assistant, but the bodyguards wouldn't let him. They did not want any mistakes, they thought he might escape, flee the hospital and contact the media that he was being bullied by President Bhatt, that would cause a scandal.
He would have sent his assistant but he wanted to walk around a little and use the opportunity to go through the presentation documents. He could not do that when the bodyguards are constantly watching him.
His assistant volunteered on his own to go buy the food, he was denied Movement aswell, he could make a call and invite the media aswell that him and Rohit are being bullied by President Bhatt.
And if the media caught wind of the situation, Sunita will be found out aswell that she tried to commit suicide. So far, President Bhatt had done all he could in his power to stop any news of Sunita and her suicidal attempt and kept it under wraps.
Him and his family are public figures whose image can be ruined because of any scandal. No matter how little it is, the media has a way of escalating it and make a mountain out of a mile hill.
Rohit and his assessment had no choice but to remain hungry. The bodyguards were not hungry, President Bhatt ensured that they had their lunch with them before he left.
So while they quickly ate at one point while keeping an eye on Rohit and his assistant, Rohit and his assistant on the other hand were salivating as they watched them eat.
At 12 noon, Sunita slowly opened her eyes, she was still drowsy because of the sedatives but was well awake now, she looked around and found the nurse who was busy checking her drip.
Water, please I need water, she said faintly, the nurse poured her a glass of water, helped her raise her head a little and helped her hold the glass of water as she drank.
After she finished drinking, the nurse asked, how are you feeling? Am feeling drowsy and my whole body hurts, Sunita replied. Don't worry about that, you were given sedatives which will completely clear off soon. The nurse replied.
She checked Sunita's body and said, I will go get the doctor to check on you further, please do rest well and don't stress yourself. Sunita looked at her and said nothing.
The nurse came back about 5 minutes later with the doctor. The doctor did a routine thorough check on her. He asked her, does your head hurts? Yes doctor it does, she said faintly.
As he checked different parts of her body, he equally asked, does it hurts, each time she replied faintly, yes it hurts doctor and finally she said, my whole body hurts.
Earlier on, in a bid to escape from the hospital to go look for Rohit when he did not come in to see her, she had fallen face flat on the ground. She had lost a lot of blood and she was not yet strong enough to walk, she was still very weak.
I would instruct the nurse to give you pain killers, the doctor replied, then he turned to the nurse, please give the patient some pain killers for her head and body ache. Yes doctor I will do that right away.
As the nurse prepared to give her pain killers, the doctor decided to exit Sunita's room. Before he could leave, she faintly said, Rohit, I want to see him, is he here? has he come for me? I want to see him now.
The doctor turned around, went closer to her bed, then he said, don't stress your body any further, you need to recover, when the nurse has given you some pain killers, I will let Rohit come in to see you. The doctor exited her room afterwards.
Rohit looked at his watch and at the wall clock in the waiting area as he sat down on the long bench as if his watch and the wall clock tell different times.
He was getting tired of sitting down in one place, his assistant was not any better, they looked at the bodyguards and checked if they could try again to convince them to allow them go buy something to eat. They were dealing with professional bodyguards, so their second attempt was also a flop.
He looked at his watch again, and as he looked up to look at the wall clock, the doctor approached them. Rohit, who is Rohit? The doctor asked. I am Rohit,b Rohit answered.
Come with me, the patient has woken up and has requested for you. Make sure you be careful, do not bother her and do not stay in there for too long. When you done seeing her, you can inform the rest of her family members that they can come in to see her afterwards. Ok doctor, he replied.
While Rohit's assistant remained in the waiting area with one bodyguard, Rohit and the second bodyguard followed the doctor to Sunita's room, the room was a special room, Ravi had arranged for her to be put in there.
When they got to her room, the doctor left to go attend to other patients, the bodyguard stayed outside of the room at the door while Rohit went inside after wearing the hospital's protective wear to protect himself and the Sunita as per the hospital's policies.
When he entered, the nurse left. He looked at the beautifully pale Sunita, he walked slowly towards her, he got to the side of her bed. When he saw her properly, his eyes became watery that his tears almost fell out of his eyes.
He did not know when he fell so deeply in love with her. Seeing Sunita in this condition, now convinced him more than ever before that he did not want to be apart from her anymore, it pained him so much to see his sweet Sunita in that condition.
He held Sunita's hand, Sunita whose eyes were shut, opened them slowly, she saw it was Rohit, she smiled palely and said faintly, Rohit, it is you, you came to see me.
Rohit smiled back at her, he nodded his head and said, yes Sunita, I came, why did you do this to yourself? he scolded her lightly. Dont you know I don't want to live without you? Promise me you would get better soon. Everyone is worried about you.
Sunita looked at Rohit and said faintly, I couldn't live without you, so I had no choice but to try and take my own life, but now that you here, I will get better soon. Promise me you won't leave me?
Rohit smiled, he knew he won't be able to fulfill that promise even if he tried but to make sure that Sunita recovers quickly and goes home, he said yes, I promise I won't leave you, but you must promise me to recover quickly so that you can go home.
I will recover quickly, Sunita smiled palely and replied faintly. Tears rolled down her cheeks from her eyes immediately she finished saying that. Rohit cleaned her eyes and told her not to cry that why is she crying. These are tears of joy, she replied.
Ok Sunita no more tears anymore otherwise I would cry too. Ok Rohit I won't cry anymore. As Sunita said that, her pale face, though still pale became bright a little.
Rohit leaned in to hug Sunita, as he was about to hug her, the door opened, the doctor came in and told him that he had to go and leave the patient to quickly recover.
He then quickly hugged Sunita gently and bade her goodbye that he will come see her again, for now she needs to be a good girl, take her medications, recover quickly and then go home with her parents.
Sunita smiled faintly. Rohit left the room, the doctor checked on her recovery progress and exited her room to go treat other patients. As he came outside of her room, he found out that there was another emergency case, which he quickly went to attend to.
Rohit and his assistant went to the canteen in the hospital, they were super hungry. The bodyguards followed them and allowed them to eat this time around because Rohit had seen Sunita.
After they had eaten their lunch, the bodyguards then drove them to Bhatt Conglomerates. Rohit and his assistant had to go there straight to Bhatt Conglomerates from the hospital, to give a report on Sunita's health, convey the doctor's message and do their presentation in the board room. The meeting was scheduled for 2pm.
It was 6pm when Ravi, his wife Trisha and their son Vijay, stepped inside the hospital ward to see Sunita. The rest of their family members stayed home, they had plans of visiting her at other times before she recovers completely.
The three of them could not go inside Sunita's room all at once so her mum went in first, followed by her dad and finally her brother. After they saw her, they were very much relieved thay she had gotten much better, her face was no longer pale but bright.
Sunita had recovered very fast. Ravi and Vijay were glad that she did not pull that escape stunt anymore, like how she did earlier on in the morning. Her mum had no idea of it, all she thought was that Sunita got better and her condition never got deteriorated from the first time she woke up in the early hours of the morning.
After the visit, Sunita's table was now filled with edible fruits, her mum brought it along when she came to visit her. The nurse helped her wash them, cut some up and gave her to eat. She took it from the nurse, thanked her and ate. After eating, the nurse checked up on her again and left her room while she slept.
Ravi thanked the doctor and went home with his family. When they got home. Everyone sat at the dinning table. Ate dinner quietly, went to their various rooms, freshened up and retired to bed peacefully.
The atmosphere in the house had been tensed since the previous day, now the whole house hold could sleep peacefully without worrying about Sunita anymore.
Rohit and his assistant were sleeping peacefully aswell in their separate hotel rooms, they were no longer worried anymore. Sunita was recovering and they were able to correct the blunder they made a few days ago in the board room.
Although Rohit was glad he was not thrown into Bombay Prison and was given the chance to continue to bid for the contract, he no longer desired to use Sunita anymore as a short cut to win the contract.
Ravi had made it clear to him that everyone who works with him, merited it, that he does not mix business with pleasure. But secretly without letting his assistant know, he now genuinely loves Sunita and wanted to date her for real this time.
But before he slept, he shivered at the thought of the wroth of President Bhatt. So he gave up that Idea of a relationship with Sunita now or in the nearest future. He had Jasmine to return to.
