Chapter 47: I love Sunita and I Don't Wish to Hurt Her
Ravi drank his juice silently, he shook his head bitterly, he thought to himself that he had over pampered his daughter Sunita. Sunita has been behaving like a spoilt brat. He hoped that his wife Trisha would be able to talk some sense into her.
He had read a chapter of one of his books earlier, before Sunita came back to the mansion. He was not in the mood to continue reading anymore for the rest of the day.
The chapter he read, has already given him a dose of his reading medicine. He wasn't about to fall ill. He made a mental note to continue with the book the next day after work.
When he was done with his juice, he stepped out of his study and instructed one of the maids to take away the tray.
He went to the home gym afterwards, his son Vijay was there. He thought to himself that he could use some bonding time with his son, but he was going to use only the thread mill, at his age, he couldn't be lifting heavy things. He left the other ones for his son Vijay to use.
As father and son gymed, Vijay asked how the talk with Sunita went, what was going on between Sunita and Rohit and that he hoped it is not anything serious. If it is serious and the media got wind of it, it would be scandalous.
The scandal won't be good for her image aswell. As a model and an actor, she wouldn't want to ruin her reputation with her own hands. If she does, she would live to regret it for the rest of her life.
Ravi replied his son Vijay, he said, son it is more serious than you think. Sunita claims she loves that Rohit and that she wants to get married to him. She made a threat that she would slit her wrist if we don't give in to her demands.
Your mum has gone to talk some sense into her, I hope she succeeds. I hope so too dad, I want the best for my sister Sunita. She shouldn't be like this. She should know the family loves her. Father and son sighed and continued gyming.
Upstairs in Sunita's room, Trisha talked to Sunita, mother to daughter. She explained to Sunita that love is not enough, that Sunita didn't know Rohit enough to want to make rash decisions about marrying him because of feelings.
Sunita was adamant and did not want to change her mind about Rohit, so her mum resulted to using emotional blackmail to make Sunita see reason why she should stay away from Rohit and get married to one of her father's friend son.
But to avail, Sunita would not budge, her mind was already made up. She replied her mum that she was serious when she told papa that she would slit her wrist If she does not get to marry Rohit.
Her mum slapped her immediately after she made that statement. She then told Sunita that she should not say such things anymore. Sunita held her face and resumed her crying. She cried softly.
As she was crying her mum asked her, what if Rohit does not want to marry you? You are not even sure if he likes you. I don't want to hear you mention death in this house from hence forth.
Sunita still held her face which has become red with her hands as she continued to cry, she stopped responding to her mum. Her mum then stood up and said, clean yourself up, you look pitiful. You would do what your father and I say, understood?
She did not wait for a response from Sunita, she opened the door and left Sunita's room. Sunita continued to cry. After a while she went into her bathroom, took a hot bath, wore her pajamas at midday and slept.
Her phone was muted, when her friends had called her later to inform her of their safe arrival, she didn't hear. In fact she didn't even go downstairs to have dinner, she slept till the next day.
By the time she woke up in the morning, her dad and brother had left for work, her mum and one of her aunty had gone out with the maids for grocery shopping for the house, her uncles were all at work, the little ones had all gone to school, her cousins were at the university and she was not so close to any of her aunties who were at home in the mansion. Non of them came to her room to even check up on her if she was okay.
She yawned, and climbed down from the bed, she checked her phone, the battery had died, she quickly charged it a little and put it on. Lo and behold she saw the missed calls from her friends.
She left her phone to continue charging, she went into the bathroom, brushed her teeths and took a hot bath. When she was done, she got dressed and called her friends back.
She apologised for the missed call, she explained to them that her phone was on silent, she forgot to un mute it, she also asked about her friend's ill mother, she was told that the situation was not too good and that she had gone into coma.
She consoled her friend that she should not loose faith that she should continue praying. She even promised her friend that she would go to the temple to pray for her friends mother. Her friend thanked her and they ended the call.
But did she go to the temple later in the day? No she didn't, she never visited the temple ever since she was a little girl. She always got whatever she wanted ever since she was little.
Anytime her whole family wants to visit the temple, she would cry that she doesn't want to go that she is afraid of temples. Her mum will want to force her to go but her dad will tell her mum to let her be. Hence she was left at home with one of the maids to take care of her.
From then onwards, her family made a mental note not to carry her along whenever they want to visit the temple. When her dad wants to go on business meetings and Sunita will cry she wants to come with him, he would use the temple as an excuse, that he is going to the temple. When Sunita hears it, she would stop crying and not want to follow him anymore.
After she ended her call. Sunita went into we chat, browsed other social media networks and checked her email if she had gotten the role she auditioned for.
Bombay fashion week ended last month and she just finished shooting for a magazine cover last two weeks. Her modelling career was already making waves for her, her acting career has been under the rocks.
She hoped she got the major role she auditioned for. When she checked her email, she found out that she had gotten the role. She become excited. She had gone for so many auditions in the past, and she never got the big roles but got only small insignificant ones.
She was so excited that she thought of calling Rohit first and informing him about it. As she was about to call him, she remembered her dad had forbidden her from seeing or communicating with him.
She became sad but not for too long. She called her best friend Ganga afterwards and told her about the role she got that she auditioned for. Ganga was excited for her and congratulated her.
They chatted on the phone a little longer and ended their call. After the call ended, Sunita went upstairs to the terrace to receive fresh air.
At Bhatt Conglomerates...
The meeting in the board room had ended successfully, Ravi went to his office. When those bidding for the contract including Rohit had left the building, he instructed his bodyguards to go fetch Rohit.
He did not want to give the impression to others in the meeting that he was favouring Rohit, otherwise he would have told Rohit to see him in his office as soon as the meeting ended.
When the bodyguards stopped Rohit, they did not rough handle him, he was told nicely that President Bhatt had sent for him to come see him in his office. His assistant did not leave him to his fate, but followed him back into the building.
When they reached president's Bhatt's office, his assistant waited outside while Rohit went inside.
Rohit was terrified of President Bhatt as he sat down in the sit opposite him. President Bhatt looked at him and asked bluntly, what is the relationship between you and my daughter Sunita?
Rohit stammered as he answered, sir we are friends. He was smart, he quickly figured that President Bhatt had gotten wind of his dinner with Sunita last night. He now knew the real reason why Sunita acted the way she did yesterday morning.
Do you have any romantic feelings towards her? President Bhatt asked. Rohit stammered, he was still frightened but he did not want to loose the chance of not being with Sunita. He thought that maybe President Bhatt was testing him, that he would not want his daughter to be hurt.
So he thought. He had no idea that President Bhatt had him investigated. President Bhatt now knows he has a fiancee back in Delhi. He didn't get Rohit arrested because his background was not a mafia kind, he never belonged to or tried to join any secret cult in the past. He was a nice boy that did not harm Sunita.
But President Bhatt wouldn't have him pursue his daughter Sunita, and not especially now that he discovered he had a fiancee called Jasmine Singh back in Delhi where he came from.
Rohit stammered and replied to President Bhatt, I love Sunita and I don't wish to hurt her. President Bhatt then shot him a fierce angry look. Rohit almost peed in his pants. One of the bodyguards was about to give him a blow when President Bhatt raised his hand for him to stop.
President Bhatt then asked, what about Jasmine your fiancee? Who will look after her then? Or are you to hurt both women because of your desire to use the back door to get the contract?
He continued, and made it clear to Rohit that whoever he does business with, actually does merit it, he was not a shady business man. He does not give out contracts base on family ties.
So he warned Rohit to stay away from his daughter and focus on the business he came here for. Then he said fiercely. If you don't adhere to my instructions, you would not only loose the chance to continue to bid for the contract but you will also spend the rest of your miserable life in Bombay prison.
Then he asked Rohit, do I make myself clear? Without uttering a word, Rohit shook his head still trembling. Then President Bhatt instructed his bodyguards to throw him outside of his office.
Rohit was thrown out of President Bhatt's office but because of the company's image, he was not rough handled outside of the office.
Rohit and his assistant hurriedly left the building afterwards. When they got to he hotel. With fear in their hearts, they checked out and went to book another hotel, the one that is not too from Bhatt Conglomerates.
They assumed they were free from the watchful eyes of President, but they were wrong. In that same hotel they booked, President Bhatt had his men keep an eye of their every movement. Incase Rohit disobeys his orders and tries to see Sunita, then he would rot in prison.
