Chapter 41: She Liked Him
That night Rohit was not as ease, he could not sleep properly and he did not know why. It has been days since he last spoke to his fiancee Jasmine, but that was not the reason for his sleeplessness.
He rolled on his bed in his suite several times, he then sat up, stayed like that for a few minutes, got up and walked around for sometime.
He was restless, it wasn't about the contract, he knew it too well. Was it about his fiancee, he thought about it for a few minutes and said to himself, if it was Jasmine I would have called her a long time ago, no it is not her.
Then suddenly Sunita came to his mind, he smiled a little, she is indeed gorgeous and beautiful he said to himself.
Almost immediately, he slapped himself lightly and said, what am I doing? I have Jasmine, I love her, I can't be thinking of Sunita.
He sighed, went into his fridge and took a bottle of water. He didn't bother using a glass as soon as he opened the bottle of water, he drank it.
When he had drank to his heart's content, he kept the bottle of water back into the fridge. After that, unconsciously, he went outside his room to the lobby.
Although he did not admit it, but he was hoping to stumble upon Sunita just like he did the other day.
It was just a little past 12 pm, he only saw a couple in the lobby who were on their honeymoon. They were being lovey lovey and just entering their room.
They did not even realise that Rohit came out of his room. Upon seeing the couple, how romantic they were, he subconsciously imagined himself being with Sunita and acting same way.
He tried to snap out of his thoughts but this time, he did not succeed. His thoughts had succeeded in taking over his mind.
He said to himself, I hope I have not falling for Sunita. She is the daughter of President Bhatt. I shouldn't do anything to annoy him. What if my assistant's suggestions about going out with Sunita backfires instead of helping matters?
He asked himself, shook his head and went back into his room. When he got back, he still could not sleep. He decided to just think about Sunita lovingly.
After sometime his mind was at rest, he then felt bad, if he thinks about Jasmine, he doesn't feel relaxed this way but why is it that with Sunita, he feels relaxed.
He decided to let it be, he had important work the next day, he continued thinking lovingly of Sunita so that he could sleep. After a while, he finally slept.
He woke up the next morning, got dressed, took his bag containing his office portfolio and stepped out of his room.
Outside of his room, he subconsciously looked around to check if he will see Sunita. He was aware Sunita lives at the Bhatt Mansion. But he remembered she mentioned her friends were staying at the Bhatt hotel and suites.
He locked his door and went to his assistant's room to call him just like he does every morning. They left for Bhatt Conglomerates right away.
The board meeting went successful as usual. When it was over, he spoke to Vijay for a few minutes. When the other competitors saw how close Rohit was to Vijay, they began to look down on Rohit.
They began to suspect Rohit that he is going through the back door. Vijay saw their expressions and how badly they looked at Rohit so he told Rohit that they should deal with business matters at the office and when they are outside they can talk as friends.
Rohit understood immediately, he agreed with Vijay. He wanted to win the contract, he did not want to cause trouble for Vijay at the same time.
He bade him goodbye and left with his assistant. As they were exiting Bhatt Conglomerates, he looked around to check for Sunita. He didn't want to ask about her from Vijay, he didn't want to cause a misunderstanding between them.
His assistant noticed he was looking around. He then asked, Rohit sir, is there a problem? He answered and said no, no problem at all, am just admiring this scenery. I hope to improve on Burih firm someday, he lied.
His assistant believed him and said ok Rohit sir, that is a great idea. They left afterwards and went for lunch.
Meanwhile at Bhatt Mansion...
Sunita was in her room. She was browsing through her phone when suddenly her phone rang. She looked at the caller I.D, it was her best friend Ganga calling.
She smiled and picked it up. Hello Ganga. Hello Sunita, how are you? Ganga responded. Ganga am fine and how was your honeymoon? Honeymoon was sweet, Ganga replied. Sorry I wasn't able to attend the ball, am sure your performance was top notch! she continued.
Well Ganga, you don't have to be sorry, you married now, I understand and yes my performance was top notch. They both laughed after Sunita said that.
They continued on the phone for a while and ended their call. After the call, Sunita went to her mum's room.
When she got to her mum's room, she knocked twice. Her mum asked her to come in. What it is dear? Her mum asked her as soon as she entered.
Mum! I want to go spend sometime with my friends at the hotel. You know they don't live in the city, they would be going back next week.
Mum please can I stay with them in the mean time before they leave next week? Her mum was reluctant at first but after much persuasion from Sunita, in the end, she finally agreed and told her she she will inform her dad when he comes back home later.
Thanks mum she said, and left her room. She went to her room to pack a few clothes and items she needed.
She went to the hotel afterwards. She went up the elevator, and came out on the floor of her friends room.
As she came closer to her friends room she smiled, she remembered when she bumped into Rohit the other day.
It was true she wanted to spend sometime with her friends before they go back to their home town, but the main reason why she was there was because of Rohit.
She found him to be handsome with exemplary character. She liked him and was trying to create an opportunity for him to ask her out.
All her friends had boyfriends and her best friend Ganga was married. She was not going out with anyone at the moment, her friends tease her at times about it. So she saw this as an opportunity to have a man for herself.
She knocked on her friends room, as soon as she entered, the elevator opened and Rohit stepped out.
Rohit stopped and looked at the spot where he had bumped into Sunita, smiled and continued walking to his room. After a while, Sunita came out of her friends room with her friends and they went out.
Her friends wanted to have more fun before they traveled back to their home town, so she decided to take them out to some places where they would have fun.
Rohit heard some girls laughing loudly at the lobby. He decided to go check just in case if Sunita is among them.
As soon as he opened his room door, the elevator that Sunita and her friends entered closed. Rohit looked and wondered if Sunita was among the girls that were laughing.
He was not quick enough at opening his door, he said to himself. He closed his door and went back to continue with the documents that was currently at his table. But before he continued, he went into his fridge and took out a juice. He took a glass cup and carried it with the juice to the table.
He filled his glass cup with the cold juice, drank some and continued working. When he was done, he slept off with ease.
