Chapter 37: Welcome On Board
The Next Day...
Sonal woke up very early in the morning, as early as 6am. She went to the bathroom to put on the heater, while the heater was on, she took the opportunity to brush her teeths.
After brushing her teeths, she went into her wardrobe and brought out the necessary documents that Mehra TV had requested of her to bring along when she goes there today.
After bringing out her documents, she went over them to make sure she was not missing any important document.
After looking through her documents she noticed that one of the documents was not there. She then went back to her wardrobe to look for it.
After searching and disorganizing her wardrobe she finally saw it, the document was beneath her clothes, away from the other documents.
She remembered she kept it there when she came back from the Interview the other day and forgot to keep it back where she kept her other important documents.
She has a compartment in her wardrobe where she normally keeps all her important documents, and the ones that were not important were kept outside in the locker in her room.
Sonal quickly took the document she was looking for and arranged it with the others. After arranging her documents, she put them together in the bag that she would be taking along with her when she goes over to Mehra TV.
She would have arranged it the previous night but she was on the phone with Jasmine whom made her gist more than necessary that when they were done and she hung up, she was tired and decided to sleep and arrange her documents in the morning.
When she was done with the arrangement of the necessary documents she needed, she took off her clothes and went to the bathroom.
By this time, the water in the heater was already hot. After taking her bath, she switched off the heater and went to get dressed.
After getting dressed, it was already 7am when she went downstairs. Her mum was already sited at the dinning table and checking the latest news with her phone.
Namaste mum she said, went to her mum and touched her feet for blessings. Her mum blessed her by touching her hair lightly and asked her to sit and have breakfast.
Sonal sat, the butlers served them their breakfast and they started eating. When they were done with breakfast, Shruti wished Sonal well and asked her to give her updates when she comes back later in the day.
Thanks mum I will replied Sonal. After that, Sonal went to Mehra TV while Shruti went to her friends for tea and outing.
At Mehra TV...
Sonal was asked to be at Mehra TV by 8am this morning but she got there 15 minutes to the time at exactly 7:45am.
When she got there, she was asked to wait in the waiting room area until it was 8am. As she sat, she still wondered why she was asked to come to the TV station even though she had thought hard about it last night.
She decided to leave her mind at rest, she thought to her self, I am here at the TV station and it is almost 8am, I would find out soon enough.
When it was exactly 8am sharp, the secretary to the head of the human resources department came and spoke in a friendly manner saying miss Arora, the head of the human resources department request your presence, this way please.
She stood up and followed her quickly. When she got to the door of his office she knocked twice. The human resources department head answered and said, please come in.
When she entered his office she greeted, namaste sir, he replied her and said namaste miss Arora, please do take a sit.
She sat down and and said thank you sir. The head of the human resources department then continued. Miss Arora it is good to have you back at the station. Miss Arora, congratulations you are now the new entertainment anchor, welcome on board.
Please see my secretary outside, she will direct you to the person in charge of operations, you will be directed on what to do as regards your job description.
As for your documents, please leave them at the human resources department at the room to your left, my secretary will direct you on who to leave them with for proper documentation.
Before the head of human resources could continue, the surprised Sonal said thank you for your consideration sir, am deeply grateful but sir am aware the department hired Mr. Shamu for the job last week, why am I suddenly hired sir?
He replied and said miss Arora you have nothing to worry about, as for the full details of why you were called and given the job will be explained to you.
Sonal replied and said smiling, alright sir, may I please be excused, the job has to be attended to. The head of the human resources department smiled back and said off course miss Arora you may.
Sonal left his office, when she came outside she spoke to his secretary outside briefly before entering the room to the left to drop her documents and for further clarification.
She knocked twice and was asked to enter. On entering she greeted Namaste and some of the department staffs answered, namaste miss.
After inquiry, She was again directed to who she will drop her documents with and who will explain to her the full details surrounding her employment letter.
She sat down and she listened carefully, her curiosity about her employment letter was about to be satisfied.
Miss Arora!, she answered and said yes sir? As you are aware Mr. Shamu was hired by the department last week as the entertainment anchor.
Well he no longer works with us, his appointment was terminated with immediate effect as at yesterday that you were called.
Some members of staff from the financial department found him suspicious, they directed their complains to the human resources department.
A thorough investigation was carried out afterwards by the legal department and we found out that most of his documents were forged.
He did attend Delhi university but he was rusticated, he never graduated, his documents are fake.
During the interview for the job the both of you made it to the final round only. On the basis of that, we decided you are the right per for the job.
Congratulations again, we hope you have a good time here with us as Mehra TV. She shook his hands, said thank you sir and step out.
When she came out, the secretary took her to the head of operations and returned to her duty post.
