Chapter 17: Lonely Constant

Walking above the old wooden floors, I held myself together while steadily making way into the long corridors of the small house. Stopping every other step as the sounds that creeped behind me made it feel as if someone was there.

Feeling my lips quiver from the fear, I walked upstairs onto a long hallway with rooms on either side. Taking a few more steps slowly, I stop infornt of the first door and notice its unhinged.

Leaning to pop my head inside, I leg out a shallow breath and found nothing. Pondering with shaken posture, I did not know if I was releived or angry that there was nothing.

Thorough, I checked each room one by one and find nothing to take of note. My mind wanders as I immediately think of the basement.

Heading back down the staircase, the wooden step below my feet gave way. Slipping and crashing violently towards the ground, I let out a sobbing cry. Looking down from my shoulder, I felt immense pain as it had dislocated from the fall.

Sitting up, I yell into the air and with the flow of adrenaline coirsing through me, I stand and run shoulder first into the edge of a doorway. Falling as the sound of my bone connecting echoed through the house.

As I grotted my teeth and hummed my pain to a vault, I rested for a while until getting back up. Wrapping my arm in a sling from an old rag over the falling nightstand, I pushed on to the basement.

~

Creeking open, the door beside the staircase opened and as I stared down a damp, dark pit, I carefully made my way down.

Shining my light, I raised my hand and luminated the basement with intense light.

Turning my gaze around the room, I stopped at a small, blue object under a mountain of furniture.

Walking towards it, I crouched and exampined it closely. Pulling it out, I panicked and collapsed backwards from the freight.

A blood stained, blue high-heel was what I found and beside it, a pool of dry blood. Shakes and overcome with grief as I knew Rin didn't wear these type of heels, my mind wandered as I was torn over how relieved it wsdnt Rin.

Standing up, I utterly froze as an excruciating sensation hit the pit of my stomach with such ferocious depth...

Standing still as can be, I feel a hot burst of terrible smelling air brush my hair forward from behind me. Unable to move, the sound of a horrid, cold and deadly animal grunted softly.

Shaking as I tried to stand still, my intinial action was to wave my finger and send the light on hand away from me. As I did, the sound of the animal steady followed and I covered my mouth while making my way out of the house.

Once outside, I caught my breath and hid behind the short, stone wall that was falling apart. Closing my eyes, I lifted my hands and tried to open a mirror to get the hell out of there.

Once I was able to do it, I stood and was abruptly dragged through the yard by my leg.

Screaming, I was flung up and crashed violently onto the ground. Gulping for air, I couldn't move my body as multiple cracks had rang off before crashing. Turning my gaze, the animal opened its jaw of razor sharp teeth beside my cheek. Absolute horror had consumed me and in that moment, I saw the light from my hand getting covered up in deep red blood.

Closing my eyes as the light was leaving my vision, a sudden burst of colors rang off above the area. From the corner of my eye, I was shocked when the beast like animal shined and looked straight from a horror movie.

A sudden burst of powerful air ripped through the ground. The next thing I see when I opened my eyes was Pira's, angry filled rage as her once calm and gentle hair, had turned into a dark shine while her eyes were twisted in deep violet.

The beadt screeched and shuddered as Pira's creations were more powerful than anything I had ever seen. Pure rage and chaos, ripped through the old house as if it was a nothing but air. Torturing the beast, Pira was inches away from the animals snout as she raised her arm to it.

Its body wad then torn to shreds and water alive by the creations of death itself. The sound of its shattering bones filled the air and a rugged, iron smell hit my senses as I was barely conscious. Looking down at me, her posture and appearance dimmed in the drop of a hat as if I was the only thing she was seeing.

~

In and out of consciousness, I suffered immensely through the long nights in Piras grand room. There, she treated me with everything she had as my wounds were severe. Having to leave scars, I didn't even want to think of how messed up I was as every inch of my body was covered din some sort of bandage or light.

Healing me took alot out of Pira as my light and hers didn't mix well. There after, she began to hurt herself as her hands became infused in a deep, hellish color. Continuing even after her hands were burnt, I remained unable to over and helpless to stop her.

Crying subtle tears, I knew how much Pira was pushing herself and I angry that I was so naive to think I was invincible with my new power. Distraught, more time passed until I was able to open my hands again.

On the next set of treatment from Pira, I grabbed her hand and bursted a built up creation to heal and stop her from using her light to save me. Angry after the fact, I doze off for several days.

When I woke, Pira had fallen asleep beside emerald as dozens lf her creations were wrwrapped around the entire room as Pira didn't bother to make any effort in moving from my side.

Holding my hand, I looked with a soft expression and lifted what felt like two heavy weights that where my arms into the air. Closing my eyes as my light had fueled quite a bit, I sent new light into her creations. Energized, it dodged not make a difference as they stayed beside Pira regardless.

~

Time eventually passed as I had regained my balance once again. Through so much hardship, my scars did not fade as Pira hoped.

As I opened a mirror to near my home, I was thinking of what I was going to tell Mirana and Amy about how I got my scars.

In any case, I hugged Pira and she tightly wrapped her arms around me. Leaning back, I waved and crossed over. When I stood on my street from coming out a thin allyway, I headed home.

What was waiting for me behind the front door sent shivers down my spine as a luminecent color was shining out of the very house itself.

Who, other than Pira and Mia, can have such power and what are they doing in my house...
