Chapter 1: Chapter 1

I can still remember the day my dad died before my eyes. It was a very hot afternoon and a sandstorm was kicking up. I was struggling as big strong arms kept me from moving any closer to my dad, who was writhing in pain as a blade was being pushed deeper into his chest. I cried and screamed at the man who was killing my father. His eyes were filled with disgust as my father begged him to spare me. That man happened to be my father's closest friend and also my friend's dad. At that time I was devastated by how even the closest of friends get to betray each other in the pursuit of power. My eyes burned with anger as the Wind King plunged his sword deeper only to make my father, the Fire King breathe no more. The Wind King's guards got engulfed by flames as my rage turned me into a burning spirit. The veins on my head bulged as I got angrier the instant I saw him, my bestfriend smirking at how am I looking right now. He always had that smirk. He was always the cool one. He was far more mature. And I always had this short fuse and gets angrier by the slightest of jokes. I looked up to him as a big brother. But now, that's all in the past. He's now nothing more than a son of a traitor and a murderer. I felt the ground below me melting as I expanded my power. I am now glowing with a bright blue flame. The hottest of all flames. With no more guards restraining me, I charged at the Wind King as fast a shooting star. And the Wind King, having the fastest of reflexes dodged my attack making me crash into a wall. The wall collapsed and partially melted. But damn it hurts. I feel like I have broken my arm from the impact. I found it hard standing up again. With blurry vision I saw the figure of the Wind King forming a slender sword out of thin air. And then I saw a smaller figure approach him. I think I'll be following my dad's death in a few seconds now. I have accepted the fact that I am defeated and my life is in the hands of the brutal Wind King. I closed my eyes, ready to embrace death. But I heard a familiar voice. "Why so weak bro? Get stronger, we shall meet again.", the voice said. And I heard footsteps walking away from me. Weak? I am weak? Who does he think he is? I felt anger and hate for myself. I felt so weak that I could not even speak just to tell him that one day, I'll be stronger to beat both him and his dad. I'll avenge my father from the betrayal they did. They betrayed me and my father. They betrayed the Fire Kingdom.
