Born in an ordinary family in Oregon, the western part of the United States, Wald Jones showed strong athletic ability, was mischievous, and often fought. He was a problem child that worried his parents a lot.
As a teenager, Wald loved fantasy and science fiction. At the age of fourteen, he saw an animation called Spider-Man in Marvel's fantasy comic magazine, which changed his life. Wald was crazy about Spider-Man. He envied his ability, and yearned to become a city hero and crack down on criminals just like Spider-Man. So, on a sunny afternoon, he caught a spider in the warehouse, let it bite himself, and then laid on the sofa in the living room waiting for the venom to take effect.
