Chapter 62: The Secretary - Sarah Winslet
The Archadians along with the Hexians started their journey to find the lost legendary weapons in the universe. Hacker was left to protect Earth and try to help them find the weapons by making a mini-cosmic energy weapon detector. It has an access to his computer in order for him to easily respond to Stephanie whenever he finds one.
"I guess it is the start of my real training." Aaron thought. The first thing he did was to find a reliable secretary and five substitute warriors to defend Earth when the Archadians are on a mission. There are more than a million applicants for the Secretary position alone so he created a system which can cater a million of interviews in one day and the system is also the one evaluating the applicants. He also created a battle simulation system as an assessment tool to those who wanted to join his special force.
Upon rendering the process of hiring for Secretary, there is a beautiful woman, who got the Hacker's attention because she seems looked familiar. She passed the interview and got the most convincing evaluation. Aaron set an appointment with her for her final interview.
"Congratulations for passing the initial interview Ms. Winslet. I'm the substitute of Queen Archandia as she is having an important matter to settle and I guess you already know my name pretty well. She will not be with us for quite some time but you'll still be my secretary whenever she returns if you impress me in this interview." Aaron introduced himself to the woman.
"Yes, King Aaron. I'm one of your greatest fans. I'm Sarah Winslet. I really wanted to be a part of your Team." Sarah introduced herself as well.
"Well Sarah, you clearly do understand the nature of being part of Earth's protector, it simply means that you are willing to offer your life if you really want to render your service. What is your motivation for doing this?" Aaron asked his first question.
Sarah took a deep breath and answered, "Well, protecting Earth is the same as protecting my love ones. All of the people who know me are my motivation. My family, friends, frenemies, enemies, and whatnot. All of them who know my existence and value."
"Interesting, and why do you consider your enemies as one of your motivators?" Aaron raised his follow-up question.
"We always consider our enemies as those who bring us down but I have a different perspective about them. They also have a major part of my well-being because I could not learn a lot of things without them. They may wanted to destroy us and we tend to protect ourselves from them. We tend to resist from them and eventually, we become tougher and stronger if we survive them, that's why they are also considered as one of my motivation." Sarah answered.
Aaron was impressed by Sarah's answer and proceed to his second question. "Are you willing to sacrifice your life for the sake of those motivation?"
"I may not be the most naive person because I still want to live despite of protecting them. My point of view to your question, your Majesty, is different. I want to protect them because of the reason that I want to protecf myself. Protecting your family doesn't mean that you have to be willing to sacrifice your life in order for them to live. We people do have a diverse ideology in terms of protecting someone, it is why we always complicate things. Considering others feelings is one of the most challenging task we are going to take. I have realized that sacrificing ourselves for our love ones just to let them live happily will be my last and final resolution if it becomes irreversible. All of us wanted to protect our love ones but many of us doesn't realize that they also want to protect us so for me, protecting and loving myself is one way of protecting them. My answer is No, your Highness. I'm not willing to sacrifice my life for them but instead if given a situation wherein I've got no choice but to offer my life to protect them, I will definitely do it without hesitation." Sarah answered his question.
"Very impressive, Ms. Winslet. You do have a very authentic mind. This will be my last question. How am I going to believe you?" Aaron raised his third and final question.
Sarah thought for a moment and can hardly answer. "Uhmm... I don't know, your Majesty. I know I don't have the right to persuade you because you do have your own way of thinking so and I respect that. it depends on your perspective if you want to believe me or not but if you really want to believe me then you can do so."
Aaron stared at the eyes of Sarah and he felt the genuineness of Sarah's words. "Okay then, you're hired. Congratulations." Aaron decided to let Sarah be his secretary.
"Thank you very much, your Majesty. Would you mind if I ask when will I start?" Sarah asked cheerfully.
"You can start right now." Aaron said.
"Now that you're already my Secretary, your first mission is to help me assess the remaining slots for my Team which will be called 'The Witlockers'. You need to search for my special force. You are already a member of it. We only need five more. Can you do this as your first mission?" Aaron said.
"I will do this, your Majesty. How are we suppose to search for them?" Sarah asked.
"We will find those who can pass my special simulation battle assessment test. It is a battle simulation system with different varieties of monsters. The test taker will choose his/her weapons suitable for him/her to beat all the monsters he/she will battle in that simulation test." Aaron explained.
"You're really brilliant, your Majesty. ShadowGirl is really very lucky to have you.hehe." Sarah said.
"You really think so, Sarah? I guess I made the right thing to hire you as my Secretary. You'll be working along with me from now on. You will have your training for today, and we'll search for the remaining members of the Witlockers tomorrow." Aaron said.
Sarah is the first member of Aaron's force. Can he protect Earth while Queen Archandia and the Archadians are having an important mission?
