Chapter 9: News of the competition
"It's all thanks to my will of getting stronger".
The elder didn't bother to imagine what his power would be now since from the previous time he knew this guy wasn't normal.
Even though when he is stronger than him now, if he tried anything bad towards this kid it would only bring him in harm's way, not the other way around.
Without even bothering he looked at Sam and said give me your id ill upgrade it to core members one.
Sam did as he was told and gave his bead to the elder, the elder took the bead and turned it into a bright golden version which showed him being a core member.
Currently, Sam was 30k away from opening a new box but he wanted to wait to open the next one which was 500k.
The elder took Sam to the core area where only Spirit rank cultivators were at.
The strongest person in the core area was at the peak of bronze rank.
Which was quite an impressive achievement but sadly right now in the eyes of the elder it looked like some trash when compared to Sam.
Almost all the core members were at the bronze rank and only Sam was at the spirit rank.
The elder took Sam to where his daughter lived in the core area.
The daughter of the elder immediately felt the presence of his dad and immediately came out to see Sam coming down flying with his dad.
She bowed towards her dad then asked:" who is this person?"
The elder replied "a new Core member".
Hearing this she decided to check what his cultivation was with a bit anticipation in her eyes but when she felt that Sam was only at the spirit rank she immediately became disappointed.

She looked at her dad then said:" why you here dad?"
"I'm here to ask you to take this man to the 1st room on this peak".
"What? Can you repeat yourself, dad?"
"I said to take him to the top of the peak and show him the 1st courtyard and the things he should know", the elder was expecting her daughter to say that so he was ready to reply.
"But isn't that room only reserved for the number one member of our sect?"
"Yeah it is"
"But it's only for people with the highest talent or cultivation and this guy is only at the 5th stage of spirit rank".
"Haru would you mind showing her your power?"
Sam heard what name the elder used to call for him and then remembered that the original owner of this body was called Haru.
Side note: and it was cause of this reason the princess never able to find out who had helped her.
Sam looked at her then tried to sense at what stage she was, he immediately noticed that she was at bronze rank stage 3.
"come at me without holding back".
She felt disrespected hearing Sam tell her to fight him, someone, almost 8 stages below her ask her to fight him with her full power.
Even though she was angered by what Sam said she still didn't use her full power thinking it might injure Sam seriously.
She attacked Sam with the strength of a cultivator at the 8th stage of spirit rank.
She threw a fist towards Sam but the fist was blocked by a barrier that appeared in front of Sam.
Sam looked at her and said," i believe this should be enough for you to use your full power".
The elder's daughter was quite surprised and started to slowly threw punches with more and more strength to break the barrier but nonetheless, nothing happened to the barrier even when she exerted her full power.
She suddenly stopped with a hint of shock in her eyes then said:" follow me then".
The elder looked at Sam then said:" there is going to be a competition between the core members that will select who will be fighting in the upcoming big competition held by the empire".
"do your best to increase your power so you can join the competition".
"Sorry elder but I'm planning to go to the Dragon empire right in about 15 days". Sam
"Well lucky you the top three competitors get to go to the Dragon Continent to join the Continental Tournament held almost 3 months from now".
"Sam's expression changed from bland and emotionless person to that of an excited and energetic one".
He immediately asked "where is the competition held at".
"It's at the capital in about 30 days from now, everybody can join this tournament but if you wanna represent the sect you have to do a tournament for that before the actual competition happens, the sect will pick good representatives to make our sect look good in front of the people of the empire".
Hearing this Sam nodded then looked at the girl and asked her "can you lead me to where I'm meant to be at".
The elder's daughter introduced herself to Sam first then started to lead him up the mountain.
Obviously, Sam did not give his actual name to the girl he gave the one that he had given to the sect.
Sam looked at her then said "thank you".
Then straight right after that Sam started to go into training mode until it was time for him to come out without worrying about anything in this world.
He started to create new links with his sword, which was pretty easy as his sword had already absorbed lots of spiritual ki from him.
He maxed out his sword skill, which also came with a new handy cheat.
He finished his sword training 15 days before the competition, he still he had 15 more days, which he spent on learning new skills and in that 15 days he trained them to the average level of 4.
It was currently 2 hours before the competition and Sam was standing alongside with at least 10000 other people that were trying to participate in the competition.
