Two shouts rang out. I wanted to shout as well. Eshan nodded seriously. Ayesha held onto his mother's arm. They both exchanged glances.

How could Eshan lie with that straight face? His single lie forced those two women to look at me with utter disgust. I wanted to shrink away.

My hand went to my stomach, subconsciously. There was no life in it, yet my instinct kicked in. Was this what they called maternal instinct?

Eshan's mother was shocked, and Ayesha had received the same shock as well. Perhaps, my action gave them the wrong impression. Eshan did not clear it out for them. Instead, he chose to pull me by his side and away from the reach of those two women.
