Chapter 35: Keep Digging
"Yuina, this is the guardian of Nightfall Dragon. Farrell Miller."
"What?" Yuina looks at the man who said to be the third guardian. Nightfall Dragon. The dragon who can control the stone and ground.
Farrell smile to her. "Hi there."
"Hi. I'm Yuina." She said to the man with a smile.
She then looks at the man which has long hair and his attire look shabby. "You're…"
"I'm here to send some food supply for this village. I originally from Ivory tribe. I come here once every month." He explains. He notices that Yuina eyes trail him from his top until the bottom.
"Ah...I see."
"So, Farrell. Did you also hear a voice from your mind when first you seeing Yuina's face?" Zane pat on Farrell's shoulder and the three of them took a sit forming a circle.
"Yeah... it's not my voice. I also feel like burning inside and my heart thumping a bit faster than usual." He said.
"Did you also feels the same, Zane?" Kyra turns her head to Zane.
"Yup. Exactly the same. But then, that time my abilities suddenly can function and I manage to save Yuina that day."
"How about if you show us, your abilities," Kyra said and turning to look back at Farrell.
"Like what?" Farrell lifts up his eyebrow. This is the first time he heard about this. He never thought the ring that he wore got something powerful hidden behind it.
"Lift your finger and direct it on the ground?" Zane gives suggestion.
Even though Farrell's a bit hesitant to do that, he still lifts up his finger and directs it on the ground. Move his finger like what Zane told him.
But to their surprise. None object moved. Not even one small stone. This makes Farrell turn a bit sullen.
"Are you sure Kyra this is the right stone we're talking about?" Zane whispers to her. Hoping that Farrell did not hear him.
"Zane." Yuina looks at him with a bit scrunch on her forehead and she sightly shook her head. Instructing him to not hurt Farrell's feeling.
Farrell at the side heard what Zane just said. Yes, it's a bit embarrassing.
"Farrell, it's okay. We can try it tomorrow or later. No rush." Yuina tries to soothe him.
"Yeah. Take your time. We're not in a hurry anyway." Hayden pat on Farrell's back and he then stretched his hand out to Yuina.
"Princess..time to sleep." He said and that makes Yuina blush a bit.
'S..sleep? He said it and sounded like we're sleeping together! Uhm..'
"Princess?" Hayden calls her name again when Yuina did not reply to him and freeze on the ground with blushing cheek.
"Ahem." Kyra nudges Yuina's arm a little. "Go go go..it's late. You must be tired." She said with a meaningful grin on her face.
"Erm." Yuina took Hayden's large hand and stand up. Before she left them, she wishes a good night to the three of them.
"Is it me, or did I just saw Yuina blushing?" Zane ask.
"No, your eyes still okay. She did blushing. She likes Hayden, but she never knows her own feeling." Kyra answers him.
"Are they together? They look like a lover." Farrell asks while still looking at the two of them.
"Hm? Well, no. But Hayden is Yuina's bodyguard. A private knight something like that. Yuina has someone that she loves back then, but that someone kills her father and put the blame to Hayden and intent to kill both of them. That is why Hayden took Yuina out of the Castle and gather us together. To secure Yuina's position as the right heir for the Zirconia Kingdom and of course, to protect this country from the other four kingdoms."
"That's complicated."
Kyra chuckles a bit. "So, wanna hear about this kingdom tales?" She looks at Farrell. Her gaze is soft and she's a bit comfortable with him than Zane.
Not because she doesn't like Zane. But because she knows Zane is playboy and carefree. She doesn't want to put her guard down while she was with him. Who knows, that perverted man will use his sweet talk to play with her heart later?
While Farrell, he looks like a kid. Young and innocent. She never had a little brother. So, it must be nice if she can have one. She thought.
"Sure." Farrell also smiles at her. 'Ah~ she's cute.'
"I'm in. I don't wanna interrupt that two lovebirds." Zane also agrees. Even though he already knows the story.
…
"Don't you feel heavy on your head?" Hayden asks while helping Yuina to take off her hair ornament. It some kind of hat-shape but was decorated with a lot of stone and jewels. After all, it's their traditional dress.
"Yeah, but do you remember when I had to train to put the book on my head when I was thirteen?" She pulls the pin from her hair slowly.
"Mhm.."
"It feels like that. Heavy. But, maybe I already accustomed to it. Thanks to that Lady Roka who train me.." She chuckles.
"Yeah. You're the one who keeps making her yelled and add more wrinkle on her face."
"I wonder..how is she right now. Did she survive that night? Or did she.." She lowered her head a bit. "Last that I know, Casey told me all my servant have been killed that day."
Caress her silky hair, Hayden said. "I'm sure she's fine. We never know whether she's in the castle or not that day, right?"
Yuina nods her head a little. "Come on, wash your face and change your dress into your night attire. I'll wait outside and call me once you're done."
"Okay."

The next day.
"Zane. We need to dig this area too." Hayden looks on the ground where he was standing.
"Can't you strike it with your lightning? It will save us time." Zane almost faint when he needs to dig the ground. It's already the third hole. Not one of them has water.
"I can't. if I do that, I'll attract soldier to come here. Do you want us to be caught?" Hayden turns to look at him. He still looks sturdy and not exhausted at all while he and Farrell look like they gonna collapse anytime soon.
"Ahhhh…..come on. Why they're no water source in this area?" Zane complaining. But still following Hayden's order.
The three of them start digging the third hole together.
"Can't you figure it out yet, Farrell?" Zane asks again after twenty minutes digging the hole.
"Hmm…I wish I could be more help right now." He feels a bit awry. Well, he wants to help this village. According to the book and tales. The dragon that he had can make the ground obeys him. But why he can't use his power?
"It's okay. Just keep digging. We can't always use our abilities all the times. Sometimes, we need to use our own strength and brain to survive." Hayden said.
"Oh! Big brother. How I wish I could be like you. So strong with muscle and firm abs!" Zane whining.
"Want to be like me?" Hayden raises one of his eyebrows to him and Zane nodded like a dog wagging his tail and shiny eyes.
"Dig more. And by the end of the day, you could form a muscle on your arm. Keep doing the digging labor for days..and voila! You can have abs on your body." He grinning at him.
Zane faces immediately turn sour. "That's….no thanks, I rather have my own curve like now than to burning my face under this hot day just to have that abs."
Farrell on the other side already laughing softly.
"Keep digging, Zane. Keep digging." Hayden smirking and turns back to digging the ground.
