Chapter 9: Marriage acceptance
after Parvati and Prasanth left Marina tried to talk to her brother
"Deep why don't you consider marrying Vina, I know till now you haven't seen her in that way but you almost everything about her, in my view Vina can be my good sister-in-law, I don't believe you won't fall for her either, I know I am not aware of what you feel right now, but i can say you won't regret marrying Vina, Deep think carefully"
Marina said her piece and left patting her brother's shoulder
Deep was calm when Marina tried to talk him out but one can say by looking into his eyes he has complicated feeling and the signs of confusion flashed now and then and said "Marina what do you know? " Deep retreated to his bedroom after giving this remark
while the brother and sister had one kind of conversation on the other hand their parents also had their own
when both Parvati and Prasanth entered their room
"My GOD, did I do it? I still can't believe that I didn't give any chance for Deep to convince me, see..... my legs are still shaking after doing a dare!!!! "
Prasanth sighed looking at wife's odd behaviour
"Parvati why do you feel like this,.....shouldn't your behaviour earlier be normal....as a mother trying to make her son get a good wife to see his life getting better, why do I feel that your reaction is kind of odd "
Parvati looked at her husband as if trying to say 'did you know so little about me after spending so many years, oh god why did I fall for him...hmph'
"Prasanth what have you been doing all these years, don't you know our son is so good that he never made us worry about him, was there any time when we need to discipline him? "
" Dear I know what you mean, it's just I didn't get why you are so excited, anyhow now all is good so you can relax, Deep knows what to do with his life, trust him ok... "
Parvati sighed and sat in bed as if she can't do anything after realising how her son can handle his own affairs
" that's right I should trust him, I'm tired... I will take a nap, you go out and do what needs to be done"

'what do you mean by what need to do, just say directly to cook for lunch' Prasanth huffed and left while Parvati started dreaming her husband cooking delicious food
Deep layed on bed being dazed as if he is in deep thought and reminiscing something soon he found himself more worried and confused and the answer he is wishing to get is for only one question
'what does Vina think now that we are engaged'
and the concerned party is watching TV with popcorn on one hand and coke on the other
when Vanitha wanted to look at her daughter's condition after having a conversation, this is how she was, one look was enough to make her daughter get punished....but calming down her urge to scold Vanitha slowly went inside joining her daughter on bed to watch the show
"Mom, when did you come? "
Vina was startled when Vanitha tried to take popcorn from her pack
"why are you startled, I should be the one questioning you, what are you doing alone?, I thought you would be thinking seriously and by now you would have made a decision, who knows I would see you like this"
Vina pouted after listening this
"Mom, why do you say like that.....didn't I already agree to your arrangement "
Vanitha started to have headache
" Vina are you a girl, have you seen any girl who behaved like you, when it has only been a day after getting engaged, now that I think about it, I feel sorry for my son-in-law, I shouldn't make Deep suffer "
" Mom, you are my mother why do you take his side, when it has only been a day after getting engaged "
Vina pouted and imitated her mother
Vanitha sighed at her daughter's behaviour
"Vina tell me truthfully have you ever had a feeling for Kuldeep, when you both get married are you confident of getting along with him"
"Mom what's there to be confident haven't we been getting along well all these years, in future we will be fine as well, you don't have to worry about us"
"Vina....what you mean to say is... the way you feel towards Deep now is....the same as before, wait.. what I mean to say is you feel the same way when you were children"
"Obviously mom, what's the difference, isn't it simple to say I like Deep"
"Baby you got it wrong, really wrong it's good you like Deep but it can't be the same way you felt towards him since your childhood"
Vanitha didn't get how to make her daughter understand her point
" Baby the way you like Deep can't be the same, since you are willing to marry him at least try to see him as MAN whom you are going to marry not as a BOY with whom you grew up since childhood "
"Mom, what's the difference the point is I like Deep , I agreed to marry because it's him not some other guy, because I feel alright being with him so probably there won't be many problems to stay together after we get married"
Vanitha found some hope for her daughter
" so what you mean to say is... if we have found any other guy to marry , you would have rejected, right.. "
"is there any doubt"
"No, no, in the end you agreed because Deep is your would be husband , not some other guy right.. right"
Vanitha was so happy that she took her daughter's hand and started swinging side ways as a child with a thought
'so in the end my baby really liked Deep it's just she didn't know that she will one day be inseparable from him, thank God now I can have some peace of mind' and left
while leaving she found her husband pacing back and forth waiting to get some hints from her daughter through his wife, so that he can relax
seeing Vivek 's state Vanitha can't bear to tease him so she just briefed her husband on her conversation with their daughter
"So dear now you can finally relax, I think our daughter feels herself to be more independent, so till now even if we let her.....she never tried to depend on us and that's the reason she never fancied getting into relationship, but I think Deep can make her depend on him making us less worried"
in the end both Vina and Deep's parents were anxious about their children's opinion and finally let go their worries after getting positive reply
to be frank Deep's calmness is another way of acceptance so in another sense both agreed to get married according to their arrangement
