Chapter 24: Coffee Shop
Lexi immediately hailed a cab outside the mall. She instructed the cab driver to go the C cafe where she always drinks and writes her schedule when she is still working in the C company. She neess to think. Step back and check on ther bigger picture. She needa to plan ahead. She doesn't want to get hurt but seems like it is inevitable so she needs to thinks of ways for her to not hurt that much. For someone so illogical when she accepted to contract she suddenly needs something to shield herself. How stupid to do it now. But then again, here she is sitting in her favorite spot, ordering her favorite coffee.
"What did you say?!" Alexander suddenly stands and his voice echoed to the 4 walls of the boardroom and everyone bows their heads with fear. Directors, managers and their secretaries are quitely observing the situation. One thing is for sure, the President now is in a bad mood and this means hell to everyone. "If you did not find her, you are fired! All of you are fired!"
Kay is trembling. Is this how it will end? Her 5 years of service? She didn't see any signs from Ms. Min of being troubled. Surely she is not after money. She did not use the card. Not also kidnapping because the guards surrounding them did not see a thing. She purposely run off. The sales lady said that she purchased a dress, changed and left the other paper bags for "Kay" to bring to the hotel. She still has plans of coming back. She saw Lexi's clothes inside the bag and the dress she bought from Chanel. Now, where is she?
Lexi knows how sad this will be after 4 weeks. She will surely miss him. He is sweet and demanding all together that makes him so interesting. She knows that there are more that what she sees. There are secrets, they don't talk about personal things which is great because it will just make things harder for her to let go. Is she ready to let go? Is he? Is it better to just end everything now? The thought of leaving him becomes a physical pain that she placed her hand on her chest. She can't breathe. The problem is clear and she has to accept it before she can make a solution. She is in love. Now, she needs to find ways for her not to hurt much. She looks at the bring sky. Everything looks warm and welcoming. Even the sky is cloudless, you can only see the bright blue sky. She loves him but she figured she loves herself more. She can't be with him. This types of love story will only end great in a novel but not in real life.
As she sips her third coffee, she notices it is becoming dark. Kay might be furious that she left her. She quickly check her phone for messages and calls. There are 30 missed calls and 10 text messages. Oh No! She is in trouble. Some of the calls came from Kay and some came from Alexander. All of the messages though came from Alexander's phone.
"Where are you baby?"
"Where the hell are you?"
"Are you coming back?"
" I can't track you,where are you?"
"Please tell me where are you"
Lexi knows that she turned off her phone so that no one can disturb her. She hurriedly exits the cafe shop and hails a cab.
"Lucas! Where is she?! Don't tell you can't find her?! Did you check all CCTVs around the area?!" Alexander is furious and worried. He is asking her Uncle if his Father had to do anything about the disapperance of Lexi. His Uncle assures him that his Father did not do anything and quite busy with the pending event which is the root of all his headaches.
Why did she run away? Did she figure out who he is? Is she not happy with him? Is she leaving him?
