Arthur swept his gaze on his surroundings which were covered by the bodies and shouts of the large men holding weapons.
Swords, greatswords, axes, hammers, you name it.
"Champion!"
"Champion!"
"I am always ready for battle!"
"That's not it!"
Arthur heard a cacophony of voices on one side of the are, something about someone being a champion, while he heard the last sentence, he became curious. As he swept his gaze further, he glimpsed a unique figure not far from him; there was a young man with black hair wearing clothes that you rarely see among the others, getting flustered by the discussions of the men around him, shaking in denial of what he was told of.
Shocked at the sight, Arthur unconsciously made his way to the young man, not minding the fact that the person was still taking trying to deny the fact of something.
"A, ano"
"!!!"
As he put his hand on the man's shoulder, th man jolted back due to the surpise. As he turned on his back, he saw a handsome blond-haired man, wearing a Japanese dougi, used for sports such as kendo.
But what surpised him is that his appearance is not like the others, but the fact that his face closely resembles one of the foreigners in Earth.
"A, are you from Earth as well?"
"Ah? Yes, I am. My name's Arthur Yoshikawa, but you can call me Arthur."
Then the two shook hands.
"Tae Ho, Lee Tae Ho," Tae Ho said as he let out a sigh of relief, knowing that he wasn't the only one who got dragged into here from Earth.
"Wait, you're THE Lee Tae Ho?"
"Oh, so you know me?"
Arthur answered his question with a mild smile and bit of light shining in his eyes. "Yes. You're the best player in Dark Age, and the two-consecutive title holder of the MVP. I'm very impressed with your skills. I'm a fan of yours." He then bowed.
Tae Ho laughed. "I'm flattered. Thank you but that's all in the past," ending his sentence with a bit of a conplicated look in his eyes.
"Ah! Tae Ho-sa—"
"O-oh, it's okay, you don't need to use honorifics. Just call me Tae Ho."
Arthur nodded at his suggestion. "Tae Ho," Arthur asked, "how did you get here anyways?" Tae Ho blanked out at the question for a bit and then embarassingly replied, "I died while I was playing in the championships match of the tournament."
"..."
"...what?"
Arthur let out a sigh. "I also died while I was playing the championship match in kendo."
Arthur saw Tae Ho having a surprised face, his eyes saying, "Championship match in Kendo?!", but he gave him a mixed look.
They stared at each other for a while before both let out a heavy, indiscernible sigh.
""So we're the same...""
They both let out a light chuckle.
But their chuckle was interrupted when a warrior approached Tae Ho and put his big hand on his shoulder.
"Fret not warrior, for we will go to the gates of Valhalla together."
"Oh Odin!
"Thor!"
"It's opening!"
Tae Ho got flustered at the man's remark while Arthur soundlessly laughed at the side, thinking, "Why did I get here? What does it mean?" As he brooded over, his thoughts got cut off by the sound of a huge gate opening and the huge crowd cheering.
(Maybe it's not so bad after all. Let us see what awaits us beyond the door.) Arthur thought with a smile on his face.
The door leading to the land of the warriors of the gods opened up.
It's time to enter Valhalla.
