simon "Angillina...I am surprised how much you've accomplished in such a short time."
Simon "But you are losing your servants. One by one there are people being removed from your capture."
Angillina "I know, thank you simon. I worked so hard for this."
Simon "No you didn't. You put so much work into your social media too, wasn't that enough?"
Angillina "Simon when has okay ever been enough?"
simon "You're right. You should strive for the best. Do you deserve any less?"
Angillina "No, I don't. I want more than even before."
simon "Exactly, just like what Ada told you right?"
Angillina "Ada? That name sounds familiar."
simon "Think back, she started your career."
Angillina "It's hard to focus. I need a lil pick me up *sniff* if you catch my drift? Lol"
simon "Ask your guards. Make sure to take what you want."
Simon "Just not too much, you already fainted and threw up blood. Your insides are being torn apart."
simon "From all of the pleasure. Think about it, it only hurts when you're sober."
Angillina "Simon, you genius! I need more. I know I put some away around here somewhere."
Angillina wipes the blood dripping down her nose and starts to look for her drugs, getting more and more frantic, searching high and low, throwing files out of cabinets and flipping desks and chairs when she looks back to her throne. She saw one singular pill on the cushion. She snatched up the small blue pill and hovered it above her throat being stopped moments before it fell in.
simon "Do you want to try something better?"
Angillina "Better? Doesn't it do just fine like this?"
simon "Sure, but it lasts like what? An hour at best?"
Angillina "True. I'll snort it then. It smells better than it tastes anyway."
simon "You could do that and get a few hours and a bloody nose."
Angillina "Well then what's your idea?"
simon "Mix it with some blood and inject it into yourself."
Angillina "Eww no, that's gonna leave a mark."
simon "A small one, but the effects lasts at least a day or so."
Angillina "A day? A whole day? Like twenty four hours."
simon "More like twenty eight but yeah basically."
Angillina "How? Why? Why haven't you told me this before?"
Simon "Because the effects would have killed you. Angillina this is not your normal. Just swallow the pill if you are going to. I would much rather that, then you go further down the rabbit hole."
Angillina "You are right. It makes more sense to eat it. Besides, I can get more right?"
simon "Nope. Your supplier is dead, remember? If you do what I say, forget about simply chasing the dragon. You'll be riding it."
Angillina "Is it really that much better?"
simon "Only one way to find out right? Look down, a syringe is all ready for you. Just drop the pill in there and once it dissolves, inject it. You will be in heaven in seconds."
Angillina looked down at the arm of her chair to see a glistening golden syringe filled with a dark red liquid. Nervously and with a bit of hesitation Angillina pulled the plug back and dropped the sky-blue pill into the liquid, slowly turning a dark almost blackish green right before her eyes. Her eye's had a fearful curiosity, all she could think about was how it would feel, the bliss, the way her memories would just melt away like the snow in the summer. Angillina closed her eyes as she slowly pushed the needle deep into her leg. The excruciating burning sensation she felt as the fluid poured into her veins was quickly replaced by an equal if not greater bliss. Sinking into her chair, Angillina thought of her happiest moments before closing her eyes. Opening them to her reflection in the mirror getting ready to leave, before she had a chance to question anything Angillina's mother bellowed for her to come to the door.
Angillina "Yes mommy?"
Ada'levene "So this must be the doll I heard so much about? Oh my goodness aren't you precious. May I come in? We have much to discuss."
Angillina "Ada..Ada..a-a-a…"
Ada'levene "Yes child it is I, ADA'LEVENE MONTRIARE. Famous star, model, peak of fashion and beauty...well except for your mother and you apparently."
Vinessa gestured to Ada'levene to come in and take a seat. Angillina sat quietly unable to take her eyes off of her idol. It was the greatest gift her mother could ever give her. The ladies sat in a strangely awkward silence, Angillina and Vinessa being star struck and Ada'levene uncomfortably staring at the starry eyed ladies.
Ada'levene "So Angillina…."
Angillina "eeeeeiiii yas queen!?!?!?"
Ada'levene "Wow, you are excited aren't you."
Vinessa "Sorry about her. She is probably your biggest fan."
Ada'levene "Is that so? That's good she picked the best role model to have."
Vinessa "I'm positive her mother is her role model."
Angillina "Mom shush Ada'LEVENE is speaking."
Ada'levene "Just Ada, we're all friends here right?"
Angillina "Anything for you Ada."
Ada'levene "Awwe so cute. Anyway, Angillina tell me a bit about yourself."
Angillina "I-i-i-i..um..i-i-i…"
Ada'levene "It's okay. Spit it out now."
Angillina "My name is Angillina Vizzskarra, I'm twelve years old, I've been homeschooled for most of my life, I don't like fatty foods nor sweets preferring things like coffee and salads. Um...yeah that's about it."
Ada'levene "Okay, okay...I can work with that. Angillina can you fetch us some tea then?"
Angillina "Anything for you Ada."
Angillina ran off to go make the tea, leaving Ada and Vinessa alone to talk among adults.
Vinessa "I hope you don't mind her too much haha.
Ada'levene "Are you kidding? She is just too precious. Her speech could use some work and her personality is as bland as white rice but her makeup is flawless, and the outfit she picked? Ah to die for. She has quite the eye for high fashion but...hmm...how do I put this?"
Vinessa "What? Is she not good enough? I'm sure she will work really hard to meet any standard."
Ada'levene "I don't doubt that, she seems like she gives everything her all."
Vinessa "Then what is it?"
Ada'levene "I'm not sure she is willing to take EVERY step she might need to."
Vinessa "What do you mean."
Ada'levene lowers her dark shades just enough for Vinessa to peer into her rich scarlet eyes. A sinister smile ran across Ada'levene's face as she crossed her legs, placing her hands on her knees and leaned in real close, piercing Vinessa's soul with her cherry gaze.
Ada'levene "You'll find out soon enough. Surprises sure are fun aren't they?"
Vinessa "Not when it comes to your children."
Ada'levene "That's the most fun. I love kids, they are pure, non-judgemental, and most important innocent hehe."
Vinessa "NO, NO you will not touch a hair on her head."
Vinessa, unable to control her magic, presented herself with the deadly aura of a mother bear fearing her child's life.
Ada'levene "Oh? Interesting...calm down, no need to get your faith in a bunch. I'm just saying she may need to give all of herself to this career path."
Vinessa "Oh that's it? Had me worried."
Ada'levene "There is nothing to worry about. Trust me, I'm sure she would do great."
Angillina "Ada the tea is ready. I also brought some snacks!"
Ada'levene "How kind of you! I was a bit famished anyway. Oh look at the time, it's almost time for the decorators to come."
Vinessa "Decorators? Who do you having come to my house?"
Ada'levene "Didn't she tell you I was throwing my ball here?"
Vinessa "My house is a mess."
Angillina "Don't worry mom, I got this! Eyes of the lost see what I see, sights of the beyond and beauty unmatched. Illusion magic: Pristine clean!"
Instantly all the filth of the house disappeared right before everyone's eyes.
Vinessa "Angillina! When did you learn that? We never taught you magic."
Angillina "You didn't need to, Simon taught me. I've known magic for a few years now."
Ada'levene "The food disappeared too? That's strange."
Angillina "No, nothing disappeared. You just can't see it but I can."
Ada'levene "You made them invisible?"
Angillina "No, not quite. Everyone just sees what I want them to. I applied the rule to make the house look clean."
Ada'levene "So whatever you define as filthy is unable to be seen unless you want them to?"
Angillina "Exactly!"
Ada'levene "Vinessa your daughter is quite powerful. She is emanating faith all around us everywhere I look it's there."
Angillina "Oh no I'm not. It's all in your head. Blink really fast and everything will be visible again. I'm not fast enough just yet."
Ada'levene "You don't say? Can you make people look different?"
Angillina "Kinda? Everyone looks the same to me but to everyone else they would look like what I said they would."
Ada'levene "Like a hallucination… I take back what I said. Your daughter would be just perfect. Can you make people hear things too?"
Angillina "I can make people believe anything I want. I could make a rule, all poop is cherry pie and you would see, hear, smell, feel and taste cherry pie."
Ada'levene "Amazing, hey doll we are going to have a chat later."
Vinessa "Not without me, I am her mother."
Ada'levene "Are you though? Besides you'll be too busy hosting the ball."
Vinessa "What do you mean host? This is your ball."
Ada'levene "And this is your house. I am just the guest of honor. What would people think if I, ADA'LEVENE MONTRIARE! Was caught running around? Not to mention, Angillina's star training begins now. Everyone is going to be there, all the who's who of eden will be there. Today is your daughter's big day. Her modeling debut."
Angillina "A model!?"
Vinessa "A Model? She is twelve."
Angillina "Come on mom, I'm almost thirteen..Pleeeaaase!?!"
Ada'levene "Come on look at those ocean blue eyes! How can you say no? Please…"
Angillina "This is my only opportunity to make it big. Mommy please?"
Ada'levene "If she makes it big, kiss your financial worries good-bye."
Vinessa "She said i'd be rich."
Ada'levene "No, she said you will get what you spend and as a favor i cleared up some of your debts and dropped you some cash. A courtesy payment letting me use your house as a last minute venue. It was only a couple thousand. If you say it's a fundraiser you could easily get millions tax free."
Vinessa "That's lying."
Ada'levene "It's a harmless lie. Look at your house. With two or three of these 'balls' you could easily buy a hundred of these houses blow it up and build a mega mansion on the ashes."
Vinessa "Really? Well, it's still wrong."
Ada'levene "These people are disgustingly wealthy thanks to the god AI. they aren't missing the pennies they throw at you. Come on what's the worse that can happen?"
Vinessa "Fine, just don't over extend your welcome."
Ada'levene "Angillina that's your first lesson. Lying is okay so long as you benefit from it."
Vinessa "No Angillina, you shouldn't lie."
Angillina "But weren't you going to lie?"
Vinessa "Yea..um..but...sweety you shouldn't do things just because mommy did them. Be your own person."
Ada'levene "So lying is okay when you do it but no one else? Some role model."
Vinessa "That's not what I meant."
Ada'levene "Are you sure? Because that is what you said."
Vinessa "Stop twisting my words."
Ada'levene "Dodging the question. See Angillina, that's how to get into someone's head."
*ding dong*ding dong*
Ada'levene "Oh that must be the decorators. We will continue these lessons at the ball."
Once Ada'levene opened the door, a myriad of men dressed in fancy and clean tailored suits rushed into the home. The well dressed men took a quick look around, took note of every nook and cranny of the simple home and left as quickly as they came. After returning in a few short seconds, the men brought in hundreds of extravagant decorations. Red and yellow flowers decorate the halls, gold silks draped from the roof, blue table cloths as far as the eye can see and dozens of utensils made of various precious metals precisely placed next to elaborately decorated porcelain plates and bowls. After making quick work of the decoration the men salute Ada'levene before bowing staggardly across each other to allow a tall beautiful woman in a gorgeous sunset orange dress to bring a small box and kneel to present it to Angillina. The box, no bigger than a foot in length and width, was tied with a big red silk into a large bow and beautiful hand painted elaborate decorations kissed the sides of the box. Angillina walked up to it, almost hearing something call out to her from within the box, step by step her heart raced more and more, the beating growing ever more intense until...she opened it. Suddenly her heart was no longer afraid, yet, filled with absolute wonder and awe.
Ada'levene "And of course we must decorate the main attraction. Go on...It's yours to keep."
Angillina "Really?"
Angillina pulled out the beautiful silver dress, the shine alone slightly blinding her mother, the beauty was unmatched by the current outfit she was wearing. The material was made from strands of silver twisted together and woven into the dress. Soft, light, breathable but yet also beautiful, valueless, and absolutely eye catching. Without missing a beat Angillina hugged Ada'levene with all of her naive innocence unable to tell the evils playing the tunes of darkness within the heart of this woman.
Ada'levene "Is there anywhere private we can talk? We have much to do before the ball."
Angillina "Yea, my room."
Vinessa "Um excuse me? You aren't going anywhere with my daughter alone."
Angillina "Mom we are just going to my room. What could possibly happen?"
Ada'levene "Yeah? Are you afraid your daughter will follow in your steps?"
Vinessa "No, I don't trust you."
Ada'levene "You really are going to have issues when she comes with me on tour."
Vinessa "I won't be there?"
Ada'levene "Are you crazy? She is the upcoming star, not you. Come Angillina, Show me to your room."
Vinessa tried to follow Ada'levene and Angillina to her room but was stopped by one of the men grabbing her wrist. Vinessa snatched her wrist back and tried to walk around the man but he kept stepping in her way much to the annoyance of the doting mother. With not much else to do Vinessa sat on the couch and waited until the ladies returned. Now alone with Ada'levene, Angillina felt a sort of unease, something akin to being a steak in front of a horde of wolves. Ada'levene didn't make her feel any safer as she walked behind Angillina and placed her hands softly on her shoulders to undo her dress. Angillina, now completely uncomfortable with the situation, covers her underwear from the strange adult undressing her. Ada'levene moves Angillina's hands out of the way forcing them to her sides and ogling her up and down, poking her in some places and groping others making sure to rub her hands over every single crevice on her body. When she was finished Ada'levene placed the silver dress on Angillina with no remorse or regard to how she was feeling after being completely objectified, noticing a tear come down Angillina's face.
Ada'levene "What's wrong dear?"
Angillina "it's nothing."
Ada'levene "Then stop crying. It's only the beginning, you'll have to do much much more to be a star."
Angillina "Like what? I'm not sure if this is appropriate."
Ada'levene "Look, you are a young woman with no big money background. There's only a few ways to get to the top and if you aren't willing to do them, then I guess I have to revoke your scholarship."
Angillina "NO! This scholarship is all I've ever wanted since I was six, please, I'm sorry."
Ada'levene "Good, keep your emotions in check. Our clients hate when our girls cry, it ruins the experience."
Angillina "Yes, ma'am."
Ada'levene quickly applied makeup to Angillina and rushed her back to the living room. Vinessa saw a look on her daughter she hasn't seen since her very own childhood. The utter shame knowing what she did was completely wrong, Vinessa was unable to console let alone look Angillina in the eyes. *ding dong*ding dong* Vinessa jumps up, rushing over to the door, opening it to see an ocean of people dressed in million dollar suits and billion dollar dresses. The aristocrats pushed their way into the home helping themselves to the hors d'oeuvres and the bottomless drinks, mingling among themselves by the pool and danced along to live band that played the most gorgeous melody. Before she knew it Vinessa lost track of Angillina, figuring she was fine although her heart, mind, and AI said otherwise she delved into the party and complete self indulgence, drinking and drugging her worries over haughty and the party away. This was the life she wanted, the life she desired more than anything else, no one judged her for being drunk, no one was annoyed by her presence, the men would even leave their dates just to have a conversation with her. To Vinessa everything was amazing, Angillina on the other hand Angillina wasn't having the greatest time, rather she was having the very opposite of her mother.
Ada'levene "Angillina you don't seem to be having much fun. What's wrong? Isn't this all that you wanted?"
Angillina "Kinda...I mean I'm glad mom is happy and everything but I don't think this is my thing."
Ada'levene "What gave you that impression?"
Angillina "My mother is so charismatic, just look at her, everyone loves her even though he is hideous."
Ada'levene "Well I don't have much to say to her looks but if she is as hideous as you say then why aren't you all the more confident in talking to people."
Angillina "Because, I've never seen her this happy before."
Ada'levene "Oh hog wash, if she is being outshone by a twelve year old then she is the one that should feel ashamed."
Angillina "That's true I guess but still...What if they don't like me?"
Ada'levene "I know what would boost your confidence and you could earn some money too."
Angillina "How?"
Ada'levene "It's the end of the night so just go out and talk to a guy, with your ability you'll have them wrapped around your finger."
Angillina "How will that get me money? And I don't feel comfortable talking to strange people."
Ada'levene "Oh come, you are getting personal lessons from me. I'm going to be there the entire time."
Angillina "You sure?"
Ada'levene "Yes, now come girl. Lets go, let me show you how it's done."
Ada'levene took Angillina by the hands introducing her to anyone who was sober enough to hold somewhat of a conversation, that's when she met him, a well dressed man with a single curl in his charcoal black hair, the jawline of an olympic god and the demeanor of a kind hearted saint. The tall, handsome, older gentleman approached Angillina with the patience of a lion in front of its prey, softly and kindly grabbing her hand, kissing the middle finger, and making her blush. Angillina's heart fluttered in the presence of such a handsome and respectable gentleman, in his hands she felt safe or so she would like to believe she was. She wanted to feel special, she wanted to be appreciated, Angillina wanted to hear all of the things she never heard from her father and right now, it isn't a distant thought or feeling, it's there in her face ready for her to take, after all she deserves it. If her mother could galavant around with anyone and her father could be with any fluzie that gave him the slightest bit of attention, why couldn't she enjoy the thrills of adulthood as well? Isn't she old enough? Isn't she supposed to be a star and stars can do whatever they please right? Angillina's mind came back into focus when the man started to talk to her, his voice as calm and gentle as the ocean on a tropical beach on a warm summer's day, his earthy hazel eyes taking her into the furthest reaches of a forest. After breaking eye contact, angillina smiles, pushes her hair behind her ear, and looks down to the ground.
Tony "Why, hello there darling. You look absolutely stunning."
Angillina "Th-th-thank you. You look good as well…"
