Chapter 3: CHAPTER 3: Life and death
*knock knock*
James "Cole I don't want to talk to you right now."
The thunder banging on his door came to a sudden stop. Making james worry about what is on the other side of the door. Fearfully he approached the door.
James "Cole I'll get my mom, I don't care your dad is a ranger Cole!"
Jody "Knock knock. I told you I'd be back!"
James opened the door waiting to be hit.
James "Oh Jody, your face is red. Did something happen between you and Cole?"
Jody "May you let Jody in please!"
James "Why are you here?"
Jody "Earlier you said you want Jody to do you a favor correct? I will do whatever you want to the best of my ability, please allow me to serve you in exchange for a small favor. "
James thought to himself that something seemed off. Jody's sudden change of heart wasn't normal, being so strong willed it's out of character for her. Not that James cared either way.
Mrs.Ambler "Who is at the door James?"
James "No one important, just a girl scout."
Mrs.Ambler "This late at night? Tell them we don't want any!"
James "I'll tell them to go away."
James opened the door to see Jody's bright red eyes. She was drenched from standing in the rain for so long. The smile on her face that sent a chill down James back. This wasn't the time to back away however, today was the day he was to claim what was once out of reach, Jody.
James "I'm not sure I can let you in. "
Jody "You sure? I will make it worth your time." she bit her cherry red lips as her fingers slid down James's chest. "Every second will be pure bliss." she whispered in James's ear. "Every single second."
James "Pure bliss huh?" James dons a crude italian accent "Seems like an offer i can't refuse."
James walked to the steps waiting for Jody to follow him but she just stood in the rain, still and unfeeling like a granite statue.
James "Are you coming? My mom's show will be over soon."
Jody "Are you saying Jody, the scary demon is allowed in?"
James "Yes, now hurry up. My room is at the end of the hall. I'll be there shortly."
Jody walks in silently sneaking her way into James's room when she heard a faint cry in the distance.
Deablos "It sounds like James has baby sister. Remember don't harm children."
Jody "Is that you or her speaking? Whatever, I had no intention of harming the child anyway."
James shortly after Jody enters the room. Slowly closing the door behind him with a wicked smile.
James "Oh! Jody. You look so cute, like a sad puppy."
Jody "Thank you, for your compliment. So, what is it you want? I'll grant one wish in exch... "
James "Before all that, I wanna know why you changed your mind? Did you come to your senses and decided to upgrade?"
Jody "No, it's quite the opposite. You see, I need Cole to not hate Jody. It puts a real damper on my plans for them. I thought it would be an appropriate time to make an appearance."
James "You said that you'll grant one wish. What if I don't want one thing?"
Jody "Ah! You make an excellent point. How's this? I will fulfill any and all of your desires if you and Cole became friends again, after you apologized to him of course."
James "All of my desires? First i want you to strip."
Jody "As you wish."
Jody takes off every last bit of clothing. making sure to put on a show for James. When she had finished, Jody stood there waiting for the next command. eyes glowing a deep rich eerie blood red. James starred into in her eyes and the devil stared back.
James "Your eyes are so beautiful. Let me take a picture of you, please."
Jody "I'm at your command, no need for formalities."
James opens the camera on his phone getting ready to take a picture when Jody's face for a split second morphed into what James thought was a horrifying monster.
James "What the hell was that? your face turned into a monsters."
Jody "James, you must be imagining things. As much as I would love a photo shoot, I think you should reconsider."
James "Nah I want to show Cole what a slut you are. How I made you undress for me first. Just look at you! A dirty pig, like the rest of the red-eyed trash. what won't you do whore? don't worry, I'll train you right."
Jody "Don't show cole what belongs to you. I am above the other demons. I know my rightful place."
James "I'm glad you already know your place. But you're absolutely right! Cole doesn't deserve to look at you."
Jody already felt digesting being in his house. She could not let him ruin her vain attempt to fix things or let Cole see how she is absolutely disgusting pig not fit to be by his side. She will fix things, she will make James pay for her pain a thousand times over.
Jody "May I have some clean clothes, please?"
James "Is that how you ask?" James's Azure eyes started to dim. Getting as dark as his request. "Do it properly, Like that piece of shit."
Jody drops to her knees, touching her head to the ground. "My lord may you grace me with warm, dry clothes please."
James hands a familiar pink bag.
Jody "My lord you found my bag. Cole will be pleased to know you had them."
James "Don't tell me you bought these for him."
Jody "No I begged him for days to buy them for me. So it would mean a lot to me if you gave them back."
James "Sure, you can have them as long as you put them on for me.
Jody "My apologies my lord, but these are to be worn at the request of Cole and Cole only."
James angrily slaps Jody. "I said put them on, I'm your master not him. Were you lying about doing any and all things?"
Jody "My apologies, I forgot to whom i was speaking with. I'll put them on right away."
Jody without a word put on each piece of clothing. James messes up her hair and smears her cherry red lipstick all over her face.
James "That outfit really suits your eyes and I love how that dress fits all of your subtle curves, it's perfect. Now let me get my camera perfect."
James took picture after picture for twenty each a different pose and position, each worse than the last. Though only twenty minutes it delt like it went on for hours. Jody had only one goal in mind. One reason to go through this humiliation, one reason she was here, Cole. Anything for Cole she told herself over and over. Suddenly the front door opens.
Mr.Ambler "Honey, kids I'm home."
James "Shit that's my dad. Don't go anywhere I'll be right back."
When James leaves Jody starts to tear up. how many pictures did that bastard take?
Demon "Does it hurt? Did negotiating help? you should let me do it my way. I'll make him pay here and now for what he has done to you."
Jody "And just what do you have planned? You only cause despair, hatred, and pain. How is that better than what I'm doing now?"
Demon "You would still have your dignity. Do you think this is better? You and i both know he isn't going to keep his promise. Come on this isn't new, we have punished countless scores of people. Have i steered you wrong before?"
Jody "No, you know best. Always have. What do you have planned?"
Demon "shhh you hear that?"
A wicked smile was sewn onto her face When she heard a baby in the distance cry.
Jody "I see, I'll let you handle things then."
James walked into his room ready to finish playing with his new toy when he realized what Jody had in her hands.
James "What do you think your doing? This isn't what we agreed to, put her down you bitch."
James rose his hand to smack Jody again but not knowing what she would do he lowered it. Jody wrote a strange character on the child and wrapped her in a blanket.
Jody "hm hm hmm hmm hmm. la la la la la la. Aren't babies so cute. Be a shame if she painted the walls wouldn't it?"
James "Put her down, please I'm begging you."
Jody "If I do she might slip. It's a lot harder than I thought. I cannot wrap my head around how you humans do it."
James "Why are you going back on our deal?"
Jody "Because she loves Cole and I want them together. Didn't I tell you this already?"
James "You're sick bitch. You have only known him for what five, six months maybe. He doesn't love you and you don't love him."
Jody put her finger on James's lips.
Jody "Watch your mouth. Settle down, I won't cut her life short. It was brought to my attention some time ago that it is evil to do that. I wouldn't want to be seen as a demon, ya know. I need Cole to fall head over heels for her and stay with her forever. In order to make that happen you will do as I say."
James "Anything! Just don't hurt her."
Jody "Let's Head down into the living room. I think it's time to show off the prize you brought home. I mean you wanted me to be your girlfriend right?"
She said every word so calmly James knew she was serious, he had no choice but to comply.
James "Mom, dad I have a surprise to show you."
James walks downstairs signaling Jody to do the same.
James "Everyone meet Jody Crishall, my girlfriend."
Jody walked down in her beautiful royal purple and scarlet dress. Shocking James's parents.
Mr.Ambler "James, My boy! She is absolutely stunning. I can't believe you caught one like her. Did you finally grow up a bit? I was worried you were bewitched by that new girl in your class."
Jody "It is absolutely my pleasure to meet all of you, especially this little one!"
Mr.Ambler "Yes my little Natasha, is one of the best things that's happened to me."
Jody "Your name is Natasha. That's so cute, it makes me feel a bit bad for this."
Jody spat out the pills she had hid in her mouth. returning her eyes to their rightful color.
Jody "Ugh I hate those damn things. They are so bitter but I've got to admit super effective not for me fortunately. Mr.Ambler I'm a bit hurt you didn't remember me, after all the fun times too."
Mrs.Ambler "Let us go, please. We won't call the police. I promise."
Jody "What's the fun in that? No no no Mr.Ambler I'm going to have my fun with you three."
Mr.Ambler "If you leave I'll give you whatever you want."
Jody "Funny, I said Similar words to your son and instead of showing me mercy like I would've done, he made me strip down to my bare skin and take pictures. instead of showing mercy he made me put this outfit on, that he stole i might add. The one i was saving for a special night with Cole. Although you knew that."
James "Keep them out of this! Do what you want with me and leave!"
Jody "You're sick and twisted, and they have known for quite a while it seems. The fact that your father was even worried you had a crush on me says it all. They knew of your tendencies and allowed it, in fact hide it. They are just as to blame as you."
James "That's crazy. No way they would hide anything of the sort."
Jody "Those pills were yours. They are anti-psychotics aren't they? And i have a good guess on where you got them!"
Mr.ambler "James it's true. At a young age you were diagnosed with a new form of psychosis. No doctor in Eden has ever seen anything like it. It was the only way to keep you safe."
James "But those pills are common meds. They just correct an imbalance. You said they will fix me. That I wouldn't have to take them anymore."
Jody "Oh! this just got exciting! Those pills can't cure you and they aren't all that common. Hahaha, I can't believe you thought that. Come on dad what do you have to say. You did something to get them."
Mr.Ambler "The price kept rising on those damned pills and they got so expensive after a while. We couldn't afford them anymore so I struck a deal to get you a lifetime supply in exchange for a simple favor. I don't know how but they found out that i worked head of security but they said if I let some cargo slip through, it was easy and i thought anything that it was could easily be found."
Jody "Well good job you found me! Those pills James while they temporarily cures you. It wears at your program forcing them to turn even after years of use. In hell we use it on espionage missions."
Mr.Ambler "James I'm sorry. I did what i had to do.
Jody "Mr.Ambler No need to feel sorry for letting a devil in Eden for personal gain. After all you did what you had to do right? James, dear do me a favor? Plug my phone in to the stereo and press play please. We need a festival to celebrate the truth coming to light."
Mr.Ambler pulls the gun on his waist on Jody. Cocking it, he steadied his aim and hardened his heart ready to take down the threat to his family.
Mr.Ambler "James on my signal grab Natasha."
Mr.ambler nodds at James ready to pull the trigger he starts to cough up blood. his coughs got more and more violent causing him to drop the gun. Slowly walking over Jody picks up Mr.Ambler's gun.
Jody "Can't kill a kid can you?" Jody places the gun to her temple "You know my power defys logic. I'm the very concept of darkness too bad I want to take my time with you."
Jody pulls the trigger to hear it click over and over.
Jody "I thought as much. Give me the bullets."
Mrs.Ambler kept coughing until ten blood covered rounds fell on the ground.
Jody "Now that's over. Let's show your family how sick you are James. mommy dearest can you please undress. James you too, you're not getting out of this."
James was scared what could she possibly want with them both naked. The fear in his heart turned into a fluttering feeling like millions of butterflies were trying to escape.
Jody "This is what you deserve and nothing less. Mom kiss James please."
Mrs.Ambler nervously kisses him on the cheek.
Jody starts to load the gun "Come on now. You know that's not what I meant. tongue kiss him. make out. Do it or I'LL BLOW A FUCKING HOLE THROUGH YOU. Sorry I lost my composure for a moment. "
As they start kissing Jody records it on James phone, making sure to carefully capture each and every detail.
Jody "This is so hot, right James? Isn't this what you wanted to do to me." Jody smiled after she noticed James's excitment. "mom James needs attention."
Mrs. Ambler "I can't do that he is my son."
Jody "Are you are saying you could do it on a thirteen year old boy just not your son? No wonder he's fucked. It runs rampant throughout the family. don't even look at Cole whore!"
Jody pressed the cold metal against her head. Mrs.Ambler lowered her head and did as she was told.
Jody "Honestly lady if it were me. I'd just take the bullet. You have no morals."
Mrs.Ambler "My angel said it would be best if I did."
Jody "Well its intelligent. My fathers program leading people to me for years. Bend over the couch slut. James do the honors please."
James stayed still, unwilling to do as Jody commands.
Jody "Are you going to defy your queen? Fine maybe my orders weren't clear." Jody shoots the ceiling then presses the barrel up against Natasha's head. "Do it or I'll kill your little sister."
the gunshot rang through James's ear but instead of fear he felt millions of butterflies. In order to save his sister he did as he was told.
Mr.Ambler looked painfully away as he cannot bear to see his family disgraced in such a manner. Jody grabbed his head and forcefully made him take in every detail.
Jody "Look! Look at your wife preform her duties as a parent. Taking care of their child's needs, isn't that right Mr.Ambler? I bet you wish to preform your duties too, your wife seems to enjoy it. James set himself as the man of the house, so you should give him his the title as such."
Jody gently places Natasha next to Mr.Ambler. he tried to crawl away as Jody rips his pants open. Jody grabs hold of his penis and cuts it off. carefully as not to make him bleed out too quickly.
Jody "James come here and eat this. Packed full of protein. "
James sees his father writhing in pain making him steel his heat. with one word sends Jody into a rage "NO!"
Jody "EAT THE DAMN THING! before I get angry and you wouldn't want to anger your queen right?"
James out of fear just swallows the whole thing, gagging on his vomit. it was the worst thing he has ever eaten. Jody picks up the gun and natasha craddleing her so she stays asleep.
Jody "She's a heavy sleeper huh? Any who time for a game to celebrate cole becoming the man of the house. It's a household favorite. Mrs.Ambler choose your son, baby or your husband."
Mrs.Ambler "I can't. Okay, I fucking can't. what did we do to deserve this?"
Jody "You gave rise to James's perverse nature. Dickless Let a devil into Eden for his son's sake, possibly endangering this city immensely. cute lil Natasha nothing but your bastard son made me Dishonor Jody's body and that is a sin I cannot forgive."
James "your pure evil. Red eyed demon! If there is a God, he should strike you down where you stand."
Jody "Wouldn't want father to get his hands dirty. A sacrifice must be made, James thanks for volunteering to play the game. Choose will it be your father, mother or natasha"
Jody kicks him the bloodied knife. James couldn't choose. he cried tears of blood, permanently staining his face. In a moment of strength Mrs.Ambler's eye burned red.
Mrs.Ambler "James. I need you to choose me. I curse myself and I curse her. I don't want to die by her hands. Be strong for all of us."
Jody "Shut up, harlot! You had your chance. James make a decision."
James hands shook as he turned to his mother. Unable to find the strength to stab his mother, Jody walks up behind him and grabs his arm.
Against his will she pushed the knife deep into his mother's heart. James felt her insides get sliced apart as the knife slid inside, the warmth of the blood oozing on his hand. That feeling returned. "What is that feeling?" He wondered.
Jody "I'm keeping my promise to you. pure bliss. Ah! A mother's love. Sacrificing herself for you to feel bliss in the purest form!"
James eyes turned a reddish blue hue.
Jody "The medication can't keep up, yes come to me."
James "Haven't you done enough? I feel bad, my mother's dead and I'm sorry. It's not even fair! Why make us suffer like this?"
Jody "I killed a countless number of people over the years. One of my favorite pass times is to stand around in clothes like this and kill pedos. It felt SOOO good to punish evil. That's when I realized my purpose. In a way I'm doing God's job. I'm the good guy, I punish evil."
James "You're just evil. A monster that needs to die."
Jody "Difference of opinion I guess. Hey dickless you have any thing to drink?"
Mr.Ambler "Yes in the fridge."
Jody walks over to the Fridge. throwing item after item out, unable to see anything she wants to drink.
Jody "I don't see anything."
Mr.Ambler "Keep looking I assure you that it's there! James, listen you need to get my phone. If i move my hands I will die"
deablos "Master, the father is planning an escape. It's advised to kill him."
Jody "Im aware. I wish to play with him a bit."
James starts to quickly pull the phone out of his pocket. just when he is half way through Jody walks in and plops right on the couch with a cup and a bottle.
Jody "Oh! Don't let me stop you! Queen of hell on your couch and all. Go on, get to it. Guess you won't need this toy then, I mean more are coming right? what are you going to tell them? Help my dickless dad let a demon in, that i tried to assault made me fuck and kill my mom. Send everyone! Please help me. hahahahaha. go on call them. The clock's ticking."
Jody with one hand crushes the gun like it was tissue paper. Digging through his dad's pockets James finally pull the phone free.
Mr.Ambler "Good going! That's my boy! Now put Natasha down!"
James "Yea put Natasha down bitch."
Jody places Natasha in a crib nearby.
Jody "Stay cute or Im going to kill you too okay. Good baby!"
Jody calmly walks in front of James, her breath reeked of evil and impure thoughts.
Jody "James are you going to call them or should I? I'm growing impatient."
Jody grabbed James fingers. and started to peel them back. you could hear the cracking in each joint.
James "aaaaahhhhhhh she broke my fingers. She just broke my fucking fingers."
Jody "Well whatever. James, my boy can you run to get rubbing alcohol, fuel, or anything that burns please. I wish to speak to your father alone."
James scrambled running as fast as he could to make Jody happy. Maybe, just maybe this will save him.
Mr.Ambler "Please I beg you, let us go."
Jody "I thought we had a deal? Must I remind you who came to who begging on their knees for their child to be healed? My servants gave you anything you asked. Defied my orders, lied to me, sharing classified equipment with unauthorized personnel. All you had to do was kill him."
Mr.Ambler "I didn't think my son would do this."
Jody "I told you when your daughter was dying in your arms that is exactly what he would do!"
Mr.Ambler "Please! I beg you at least let Natasha live. I have nothing left, but my life to offer."
Jody "I can't make any promises. It's in his hands now. You waged your son would do the right thing, pray he does."
James was upstairs gathering the materials Jody told him to retrieve, when he saw a window. Desperate he started to climb out.
Deablos "James is trying to escape from the bathroom window."
Jody "If you run they are going to die anyway and it's only a matter of time before I kill you too."
James climb back in and walks down stairs, handing Jody two bottles of rubbing alcohol
James "We only have a bottle and a half."
Jody "That'll do pig, that'll do."
Jody "Got a light? Oh I see it. It's in your pocket. Mr.Ambler smoking can kill. Too bad you'll be long dead."
James "Stop it."
Jody "But it's true! Look, it's eleven at night I don't have the time to explain the dangers of smoking. I would like to wrap this up and sleep."
Jody pours the bottles of alchohol on Natasha and Mr.Ambler.
Jody "Ok James, It's on you. pick! Natasha or daddy?"
James "No, I will not."
Jody "Why do you say this?"
James "Because you haven't hurt Natasha at all. You always threatened me with her but you have never put her in harms way. Telling my angel that you don't intend to harm her, so if I don't pick my dad you won't do a thing. "
Jody "That is an excellent deduction from my dad's servants but I do not care for what they have to say. You're going to choose."
James "No I'm not. I'm going to take fun out of your little game."
Jody "My power defys reality itself. Tell me how will you escape my wrath?"
James "I'm not an idiot. Like hell I'll tell you."
Jody "I would beg to differ, but hey what does the devil know?"
Jody just smiled. James was in fear shaking. This female no older than himself, single handedly ruined his life. Jody just stared and smiled, almost as a display of dominance. This angered James so much so he felt invincible. Encouraged by his anger he ran at Jody and tackled her to the ground. After tussling a bit the knife she left on the floor rolled toward Mr.Ambler. James fought hard and Finally pinned Jody to the ground.
James "Ha, bitch I win. I fucking win you dumb bitch."
Mr.Ambler Grabs the knife, taking a defensive stance between Jody and Natasha.
Mr.Ambler "Now I'm calling the police. you are disturbed and need help. Calling yourself the devil, stop your delusions of grandeur!"
Jody cried out almost like she was being tortured. her screams were powerful enough to make Natasha's ears bleed. Overpowering James, she stands in the middle of the room. her skin turned into scales, her nails were sharper than a razor. With a flex of her arms wings and horns sprouted from her. She had become the embodiment of darkness.
Jody spoke in a distorted and demonic voice "First peter Chapter five verse eight. Be alert and of sober mind for the devil prowls around like a lion seeking for whom which to devour."
James "What the fuck you crazy bitch. Stay away from me."
Jody turned serious. The psychotic grin she kept plastered to her face disappeared and her eyes dimmed. James and his father remained still, fearful of what would happen if they did. Suddenly she sprung up, Her smile returned like she was in absolute bliss. Her eyes were dark as blood. The sinister look in her eye signified to James, the girl known as Jody was no more.
Mr.Ambler "Stay still Jody until the police come."
James couldn't move, standing in utter terror. Mr.Ambler held the knife Jody used to emasculate his firm. It was the only way to save himself from her.
Jody "Delusions of grandeur? Mr.Ambler does it look like I'm delusional?"
Mr.Ambler "James go get the gun in my room."
Jody waited for James to retrieve the gun for Mr.Ambler. Finally coming to terms with what he needs to do. he didn't have much time, he was able to slow the bleeding, but unable to fully stop it. If he could somehow stay alive long enough for James and Natasha to get out alive then that's good enough for him.
Mr.Ambler "Ok stay still or I'll shoot."
Jody starts walking toward Mr. Ambler. Every step she took, the house shook as if it was trembling from her power.
Jody "Revelations chapter fourteen verse one through five. The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. The name written on her forehead was a mystery."
A text in bright gold was embroidered on Jody's forehead not in any known language appeared.
Mr.Ambler "Stay still or I'll fucking shoot you. JODY STOP!"
Jody "To whom do you refer?"
James "Jody, he will kill you. It's over, we won!"
Jody "MY NAME IS NOT JODY!"
James "T-th-th-then who are you?."
Jody "I am the light bearer. The one who claims tainted souls not fit to be in Heaven, the dragon, the god of sinners and demons, the tempter, mother of lies and treachery, satan, beelzebub, baphamet, the princess of darkness, queen of hell, but you may call me Lucifer.
Mr.Ambler on instincts starts shooting wildly at Jody.
Jody "Do you think I'm one to be trifled with?"
One by one the bullets stop mere inches from Jody. Before Mr. Ambler could fire his final round Jody appeared in his face. Coming face to face with her true form makes him drop to the floor. Without a word Jody bends over and grabs the gun, with a wave of her hand it turned to ash.
Jody stared into Mr.Ambler's eyes paralyzing him. Jody hands James his fathers lighter with a grin.
Jody "Now James, please choose before I do!"
James picked up the lighter and watched the fire.
He went blank, his eyes fully red now. He only felt hatred. It was just darkness so black that nothing could be seen. Not even the blood on his hands. Mr.Ambler horrified watched James set his daughter a blaze.
James "You went to hell and back for her and not me? Your only son. I could have been cured. Now you won't have any other choice but to love me."
Jody "Yes, thats it! Say hello to the demon known as James Ambler. Mr.Ambler I hate to say however, I told you as much."
James sat down and hugged his mother's dead corpse. His sadness turned to a rage that pierced Jody.
James "I will kill you. How dare you make me suffer like this."
Jody "Yield to your queen. I will not tolerate insubordination."
James comes close to Jody and takes a swing at her, stoping before he could hit her. James tried with all his might to break free of her grip.
Jody "I'm the principality of darkness. If I felt inclined I could stop your heart from beating right now. Now be still, I have to collect my due."
Jody picks up the knife on the ground. With no words or care how much he screamed and pleads to let him free, walked over to Mr. Ambler and she stabbed him in the stomach over and over. All that was left is an eviscerated and brutally mutilated corpse. When Jody came from her blood lusted rage she looked at James.
Jody "James Ambler, do you still love Jody? Do you still love her after all she's done to you and your family? The pain she put you through is nothing compared to what will happen when I kill you."
James " What are you gonna do to me? What else could you possibly do?"
Jody "My power allows me to send your consciousness into a dimensional time loop. I'll make you live this night over and over until the end of time. Fortunately, you have to die first."
Jody grabbed him by his hair and held the knife up to James neck when she thought for a bit.
Jody "I'll be right back."
Jody runs upstairs and back down with James's old school camera.
Jody "A digital camera? I remember when these came out. Its been a while since I had last saw one."
As Jody sets it on a tripod as James crys. He couldn't take it anymore. The crush he once had crushed his life. He knew there was nothing he could do.
James "Why would Cole ever be friends with a monster like you is lost on me."
Jody "Monster is rude, I prefer demon. My doings are not undeserved."
James" I didn't deserve this. Yes, maybe I went too far with you. To Force me to lie in my parents blood is cruel. To force me to kill my sister is evil."
Jody " Why does everyone blame me for their sins. I gave you a choice. I was gonna let you and the baby live, albeit with me. You would be alive, but you made the right choice I'm not ready for kids yet. Not until Cole and Jody wants one."
James "what's your obsession with him? You've known him for less than six months."
Jody "See this goes back to eons before the beginning of time."
James "That's a lie. You're only thirteen."
Jody "My current host is thirteen. I however, have been there when the stars were born and the first humans walked the beautiful earth my father made."
James "Then why waste the time with us."
Jody "I came to collect my servant. The teacher didn't tell you the whole truth. Only the people who start to rationalize or enjoy it eyes turn red. The only exception I have seen is my host she hates me dearly, but Its the price she paid to have me inside of her."
James "You're saying I enjoyed this."
Jody nods "Your words, not mine."
James "how could you say I enjoyed that? I didn't call you. I didn't ask for you to show up at my door soaking wet. I didn't ask for you to give me an offer even Cole would take advantage of. Who wouldn't have done the same as me? You did this."
Jody "One of my followers said it best. I am the punishment of god and had you not committed great sins, god would not send a punishment like me upon you. No one asks to be tested. No one chooses to face life or death challenges. It's when its presented how you act can determine what happens just as today. Your actions directly led to what happened to you. The test I decided to administer are the cardinal sins... face the camera please... You were envious of Cole and your sister. Your glutinous hunger for power and control was self evident the moment you ordered me around. The lustful desires you had toward me lowered your guard. It was so disgusting to have your gaze on me that I wanted to vomit each and everytime. Your greed wanted me all to yourself so much you put me secluded in your room. You were so lazy time and time again you did what I wanted because you wanted someone else to tell you what to do. You wanted to kill your family, why didn't you? Why wait until I told you to? You even needed me to help you kill your mother. Do you have no compassion? Word travels how do you think it would have worked out? James this tragedy would be all over the news. Everyone would know her name. She isn't a stay at home mom either, she works. It would have went around her place of work, the school we go to, the preschool Natasha would have went to, your father's workplace. There would be no escape for her. In your wrathful anger, you moked me instead of telling your family to flee. Lastly and my personal favorite pride. Even now, at deaths door you're not even sorry. You felt that you were the only one for me and no one deserved me, aside from you. After all of this you blame me? Me! I did nothing but test you. I gave you countless chances to change but you were to good for it and that's my fault? Utter trash. You aren't a billionth of who Cole will be."
James head sunk as he starts to cry knowing this is his final hour. She was right after all. There was no one to blame for his suffering but him. The hatred he once felt for the demon infront of him was replaced by self loathing.
Jody "No no look into the camera when you cry. I wanna see that emotion on your face."
James "Just tell me why do you love cole someone much? You never once told me. If you going to kill me I want to know at least that much."
Jody smiled and whispered in his ear.
James "What? Gross how could you? He's..."
Jody put her finger on James's mouth "Don't say it, they will hear you."
After Jody made James pay for his crimes she starts to revert back to her human form. walking out of the house with her clothes fixed, cleaned, and dry. While walking down the she noticed something following her every step. Jody without fear turns around and smiles.
Jody "I guess it's fair that you came. Wait for me brother, Your adorable sister will see you again."
The stranger remained silent as he stabbed Jody. Her body dropped to the ground with a thud.
Jody "My beloved brother don't let Cole know. The last thing Jody could want is Cole to see her such away. It would bring her peace knowing that Cole would never know that she broke her promise to him."
stranger "It's unlike you to care about your host. What changed?"
Jody "She grew on me. You'll understand when you talk to your host. Maybe father was right, humans aren't so bad after all."
Jody had closed her eyes to rest. When she opened them cole was holding her. The red and blue lights lit up his face as he screamed.
Cole "JODY! JODY! WAKE UP! I CALLED THE PARAMEDICS. JODY STAY WITH ME. I'M SORRY! I'M SO SORRY! I LOVE YOU. I KNOW IT'S LATE, BUT I LOVE YOU! STAY BY MY SIDE!"
Jody with the last of her strength took an implant out and gave it to Cole.
Jody "I need you t-t-t-to se-see like me."
Cole took one of his putting them on Jodys eye. It shone a bright lapis blue, putting the innocent smile Cole loved on her for the last time. As if fate determined that Jody was no longer allowed to be happy the blue light blinked on and off. When it stopped the pale white light slowly faded to grey.
Cole "Then you have to see like me Jody! stay with me. I promise somehow I'll make it up to you."
Jody closes her eyes and goes limp as the paramedics arrive. they see Cole barely able to stand soaked in the blood of his friend. Carefully approaching Jody they reached for her neck to see if there was anything to save.
Donivin "We got a pulse. let's go! go! go! Come on kid it's outta regulations but I know for a fact that she would want you there."
Cole couldn't think of anything but what he saw. the blood, the ivs, and the defibrillator. He held Jody's hand tightly and wept. When they arrive at the hospital, immediately the surgeon takes her in to the operating room. Cole tried to follow but he was stopped."
Tenny "Sorry kid medical personnel only stay in the waiting room."
Hours went by before Cole got any news. Anxiously Cole sat in his chair until he slowly fell asleep. not to long after the doctor walks out of the emergency room and wakes Cole.
Tenny "Hello sir. I'm doctor Vla'ad and I have some good news."
coles eyes glew bright blue with hope.
Tenny "Wouldn't get too excited it's not that good. We did all we could but we couldn't repair all the damage done to her organs. We did however managed to extend her life for a while. She wants to see you specifically. She called your name over and over, so I had the nurses tell me where you were. Come we don't have much time."
Tenny takes Cole to see Jody barely able to move. Her room was bare. No one was there to see her, not her father, mother or a single classmate. Cole almost teared up as he entered the room.
Tenny "Smile for her kid. She put up quite a fight with the ananastethia. Honestly, I don't even think it worked on her for most of it."
Cole "Jody? Hey are you ok?"
Jody "Hey cole."
Cole "The doc seems to think you're in bad shape."
Jody "Just a bit. Nothing that could kill me. I'llbe up and around before you know it."
Cole "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have kicked you out. I should have been there when you needed me. I'm sorry."
Jody "Its fine. It made me so happy when you told me that you loved me, you have no idea."
Cole "Im going to hold onto your implant unil you come back to me alive. keep my A.I.E. to remind you that you're not evil. There is good in you. There will always be good in you."
Jody "Why cant you be the good in me."
Cole "I will always be with you."
Jody "You were always slow to catch on." Jody coughs up some blood on her shirt. "Look I don't have much time, I told my father to give you my stuffed animal. Inside is my favorite keep sake, I want you to hold onto it."
Cole held her hand and nodded.
Jody "With that I can die in peace."
Jody closes her eyes after she draws her final breath. Cole smiled and cried until his father came to get him.
When they arrived home he went straight to his room. His mom concerned for her son gently knocked on the door.
Jonah "Cole sweetie! I'm coming in ok."
She opens the door to see cole slump in his pillow. She could feel the sadness in his heart. She wanted nothing more than to save him from all that pain he felt.
Jonah "Cole, come eat. Call James do something. You know I hate to see you like this."
Cole "James hates me and I'm not hungry, thanks."
Jonah "Cole sweetie. I know Jody meant alot to you, but she wouldn't want to see you like this. Come downstairs, I saved that super hero show you like."
Cole "Mom I caused her death. Me, if I just held her hand, told her not to go, to stay with me she would still be alive."
Jonah "It's not your fault, with the integration of the tainted there was bound to be puritans out there that disagreed."
Cole "I guess."
Jonah "When's the service?"
Cole "Friday."
Jonah "Tell her how you feel then, leave it all on the floor. Give a speech to comfort yourself and the others who will be there."
Friday came quick. Cole sat alone in the front row.
preacher "Jody was a nice young lady I haven't been able to meet her personally but I'm sure even with an evil program she tried to be good. Now to say a few words Cole Yankell."
Cole walked up to the stand and saw the crowd. Made up of cole's family. Cole was sure if he could the pastor wouldn't have shown up either.
Cole "Jody was a good girl. She came across as as insane, but she wasn't she knew everything that was going in around her. she was happy, sad, angry, generally broed at times. In the short time that I've known her she has been the closest thing i have had to a friend. She always looked out for me, and was there for..." Cole composed himself before continuing. "If i would call anyone a family friend it's Jody. She was bueatiful loyal and stong. She never let her bullies get to her. She told me she loved me after I told her that i hated her. Words that my father truthfully said i would come to regret. Jody thank you for being a friend to me when you deserved so much more. Thank you all for attending."
pastor "And now let us stand fo prayer. Father through your holy and divine name take this little girl into your great kindom and give her relief from her burdens, amen."
A week later it was James and his family's funeral. it was packed, filled with so many family and friends that cole couldn't find a seat. He was so deeply angered by this when it was his turn to speak, he cursed James and his family. He cursed everyone that attended until security threw him out.
Cole was walking home angry, how dare they? Jody did nothing, but be kind to everyone there and not one showed up to see her off. Not one attended her funeral.
Deablos This is bullshit. First i have to share a host with an angelic program, Then they kick us out for speaking the truth. Such crap. Hey fucker, let's go back there and give them a piece of our mind."
Cole "You cant talk to me like that."
Deablos "I'll talk any way I damn well please."
Cole "No not that. I mean you're sentient and you shouldn't be."
Deablos "Yea all your programs are. My Feathery partner just wanted to be polite."
Angelos "Hi cole. I guess this is embarrassing right?"
