Chapter 43: Assaulting a City
There were many Bosses in the Abyss Battlefield. Every town that monsters conquered would contain multiple Bosses. The weakest among these Bosses were Lords, while most were Great Lords. Some towns were even protected by Grand Lords or Mythic monsters. Players didn't need to look far to find Field Bosses.
The only problem was that a monster didn't drop materials or money, just equipment.
As the Dream Chaser team left, many started discussing about them.
Players usually formed 100-man teams before leaving.
The Abyss Battlefield was comprised of various regions. Different regions had different threat levels.
The outermost region was the safest. However, there were far fewer monsters here. Players could not earn many Honor Points with so few targets.
A higher monster density could be found outisde towns, it wasn't rare to find Great Lords inside a town.
Then cities were divided in three sizes, and were considered nests of monsters.
A city supressed players attributes upon entering, increasing the difficulty to clear it significantly.
On small cities, one was bound to meet Great Lords and a high chance of meeting Grand Lords, if one was unlucky, even a Mythic could appear.
Grand Lords looked over medium cities, and players had a very high possibility of encountering a Mythic monster.
In large size cities, players were garanteed to find Mythic monsters,

Leroy and the rest arrived outside of a medium size city after five hours of travel.
"Woah those things are huge" Olympus said.
"What a large monster" Robb commented while looking at the center of the city.
Three huge Grand Lords monsters could be seen from the outside.
Wity four thin eyes and a 30 meters high body, the Abyssal Red Diermas towered above the city.
Their bodies were light red skinned and their steps made the ground on the city tremble.

"Just focus on clearing thlse outside first" Leroy said. Tens of thousands of monsters were outside the city.
The monsters had a hierarchy and the weakest lived outside.
One could still see some chieftains and lords outside.
Leroy summoned the wolves and sent them to lure the monsters.
After a moment, more than seven thousand creatures of all types rushed to their position while following the wolves.
They were at least elites of level 45, with almost 200,000 hp, it was enough to sent players running.
But even in front of the sea of monsters in front of them, the team remained calm.
Kaydara started playing and buffing the team.
Leroy summoned the ten twilight knights and along with Garo and six other personal guards, they charged first.
Olympus stood behind them to stop any creature from attacking the players.
The monsters were simply no match for the knights and guards.
As soon as they clashed, about 800 monsters died.
Everyone started attacking with their aoe skills and spells.
'Magic Synergy' 'Sin of Fury'
Leroy used his buffs before casting all of his spells at the same time.
The typhoon, the fireball, the rain of dark arrows, the waves from the dark slash...
Each of his attacks was more than enough to one shot any elite, even a chieftain would loss 2/3 of their hp.
Aeden started using his aoe spells two, a rain of explosives bullets showered the monsters.
Robb summoned a huge transparent sword that pierced the ground, it released a strong light that killed almost any creature around it.
Something similar happened as Wonder made a huge yellowish translucent hammer appear and hit the ground.
Katakuri used a chain lightining spell, continously hitting one monster and jumping to another two.
Trafford helped the knights to move after killing the creatures in the area.
Even Olympus who had a low offensive capacity himself was helping killing a lot lf monsters through his personal guard, it was a venomancer class, it's poison had a very large area, almost comparable to Ifer's spells.
The thousands of monsters died in the span of two to three minutes as more were prepared to come.
The raven knights quickly gathered the loot and retreated out of combat.
This time, he ordered the wolves to gather all monsters in the area.
More than 18,000 creatures followed the wolves, some of them even died.
This time the team wasn't acting as casual as before.
The moment that they got in range, a typhoon of dark mana swallowed an area of tens of meters. More than a thousand monsters died this time as their density was huge. The wolves had done a great job at pulling them closer.
The twilight knights no longer moved from their position, they just waited and killed, their positions unshakable.
Katakuri raised his staff and used the weapon's spell. Lightning fell on the monsters as a large lightning dragon descended. As the creature fell head on into the ground, a huge explosion killed all creatures in a 60 meters area.
This was his second aoe spell, other than chain lightning.
After ten minutes, not a single creature remained in the area around them.
Even close to the city gates, not more than two hundred remained.
Guarding the gates was a Great Lord minotaur.
With only 20,000,000 hp, it was killed quickly. Olympus tanked it and after everyone debuffed the creature, Trafford used a control spell on it and took Olympus out of that place.
A large amount of spells and skills fell on that creature inmediatly as players, guards and knights attacked at the same time.
The Great Lord, who had 98% of it's hp a second before, died without having a chance to scream.
Leroy didn't use his luck skills as he knew what the fate of the monster before even knowing of it's existance.
Like usual, the raven knights collected the loot. Everyone grow a bit jealous of it. If they had someone exclusively to gather they loot, they could grind maps and dungeons much faster.
The great lord dropped three pieces of the abyss set. When the team saw it, they were a bit stunned by the attributes, however, it would only shine when all eight pieces were together.
The team recovered their cooldown for a few minutes, seeing the great lord embbeded in the wall besides the gate, Leroy summoned his mount and pointed to the corpse.
The snake rushed excitedly to it.
After most of the team skills reclvered three minutes later, they entered the gates without paying attention to the white clean minotaur skull at the entrance.
The snake has grown from four meters long to six now, it was still too soon to use it as a mount.
Inside the city, the amount of monsters was lower than outside, but their strength was certainly powerful.
The team has just entered and saw many high lords, there was even a great lord a hundred meters from their position.
Inside the city, Leroy didn't spread the wolves and just ordered them to lure those monsters on the same street.
The creatures came in teams of a hundred on each wave, any lord monster easily had five million of hp but it didn't last long.
Having to look for their cooldowns, their rate at killing monsters was a bit slower.
After the third wave of monsters did Leroy sent the twilight knights first.
The knights formed a line and rushed through the streets, the team ran behind them while attacking the abyssal creatures in front of them.
Even when meeting a great lord, the combination of 5 knights was enough to deal with them very quickly.
After an hour, they finally arrived at the center of the city.
The tree Red Diermas were accompanied by six great lords and a few high lords.
If a great lord was enough to cause thousands of deaths to guilds, the three grand lords would be unstoppable even for a super-first rate guild.
Maybe only a super guild could fight them but it was uncertain if they could win.
"So, our personal guards will go against a grand lord, you will get the other while I hold the other. The knights will deal with the other creatures" Leroy gave his instructions, and rushed to the city center.
As the creatures detected him, they tried to stop him but were blocked by the twilight knights.
Leroy used his boots spell to increase his damage before attacking.

The earth trembled as the creature received the four attacks at the same time and continued to defend against the waves of mana.
Everyone was stupefied at the damage but quickly rushed to their targets.
Everyone has fought grand lords before either in the fields or in the trial of gods, they knew the strength of such a monster.
They were strength based grand lords, but their speed wasn't low at all.
Ifer used a magic array to supress the monster in front of his team, as Trafford and Kaydara used Tier 3 scrolls to lower their enemy's attributes.
The twilight knight had no trouble keeping the monsters out and some high lords had died already.
Leroy also used a scroll to lower the grand lord's attributes.
The giant attacked quickly but was repelled by a Shield of Heity.
'Dark Spear'
The black and silver spear pierced the center of the monster chest and exploded.

The huge mountain of muscle howled in pain as it fell on the ground.
A large typhoon followed by a rain of dark arrows fell on him.
As the sphere where the dark arrows came from disappeared, the boss had already lost almost 20% of it's hp.
Leroy knew that altough he suppressed the creature, he had to attack as much as he could before it recovered.
The nether bite spell's duration finished and the giant stood once again.
The creature wasn't particulary fast but it's huge body made it somewhat hard to dodge. Leroy used his boots spell and his movement speed increased.
He retreated back as the monster attacked his previous position with both arms.
The ground trembled and the monster howled as a bone spike pierced it's arms.
Each battle continued, they tried to reduce each boss's hp at the same time.
When the three giants had hp at 51 to 52%, Leroy and the rest moved to Ifer's position.
When the two other grand lords entered Ifer's array, they lost even mñre attributes.
"Now, chain them togheter" Aeden said as he, Trafford and Katakuri used a formation array.
As a large magic array appeared on the ground, six chains came out from the ground and two of wrapped themself on each giant.
Then they returned to the ground, dragging the bosses into the center. The formation was a single use array but it's effect were great.
Players certainly would avoid berserk bosses if possible, this was the reason why they used such a precious item at this time.
With the three of them togheter, Leroy used his luck skills before attacking along with everyone else.
The grand lords only had half their hp and their attributes were greatly reduced, with everyone attacking, they wouldn't have much time to use their berserk state.
