Chapter 2: A Person In The Statue
'I have always lived in your shadows for so long and now I have my own identity.'
'I have now crushed your name and power. I no longer have to live in your shadow and after killing you I will get everything that you have worked so hard for.'
'These dogs who once used to kneel before you are kneeling before me.'
'HAHA I have everything while you have nothing, not even death is in your own hands.'
His face became so sinister while looking at the statue.
The middle aged man started saying the vows which pulled him back to the reality. He then gave his best dazzling and innocent smile to the statue and looked towards the people who were kneeling with a ruthless expression. None had seen his change in expression as everybody's heads were lowered.
The middle aged man started to dictate the lines written on the book
"I Jun Liang will vow my loyalty to the new European King, The King of the Underworld of the Europe."
"I will forever remain loyal to the King and will always follow his orders without any question."
"I will sacrifice my life in order to protect the life of the King."
Jun Liang, the middle aged man started to say many more vows which were repeated by the people. Echoes were heard in the hall and in the empty corridors.
After the vows was completed, they all stood up and then deeply bowed to show the respect to the new king.
Earth has seven continents and each continents except Antarctica has one person who has the highest power in underworld. They are known as the King or Queen of the respective continent.
'Queen of the dark' was the only female ruler who had ruled the underworld at present as the rest were all males. As being the only female ruler, the other rulers also used to respect her.She was known as the "Goddess of Death" among the rulers of the continents.
The Kings and the Queens are responsible for the diplomatic relations between two continents. Also they are responsible that the commoners do not get involved in the wars of the underworld.
Now back to the hall, waiters were again serving wine but it was a bit different from the last time. The cups used had a design of snakes from the foot of the glass to the stem. The head of the snake contained a green emerald which seemed very rare and expensive. The cup was made up of gold where as the snake was made up of silver.
The King was also served the wine but the cup he had used had structure of a dragon on the cup. The dragon which was on the cup was the Need-Hwang dragon which means Malice Striker or Striker in the Dark. According to the myths Need-Hwang Dragon is the second most ferocious dragon in the entire world.
This cup could only be used by the King or the Queen when they take over the powers and responsibilities of the underworld. This cup could only be used at that particular day and then again was kept safely by the new ruler until the next ruler appears.
He stared at the cup with disdain because it was only the imitation of the cup that should be used today.
He had seen the cup when the previous Queen took her title. It was grand yet majestic but she had hid the cup in a safe place which he didn't know.
The position of the cup as well as the other heirlooms was a secret kept only between the new King and the previous along with a few most trusted hidden guards. So he didn't have any idea about the location of the heirlooms and this thing had become the thorn in his heart.
After taking a sip from the cup, he glanced at the statue just to see disdain in the eyes of the person inside the statue.He knew he could fool anyone with this imitation but not the person inside the statue as she was the true owner of the heirlooms. He clenched the cup in his hand and took a deep breath to suppress his rage.
He took a sip of wine from the glass and stood up from the throne. He then said to the people that he would surely provide them benefits for supporting him.
He than raised his hands to begin with the celebration. The celebration was nothing else but just congratulating the new king while giving him gifts. They were praising the new king endlessly. After all having relation with the most powerful person in the continent is not that bad.
When it was almost dawn, the gifts giving session was over and people started to leave the hall but they didn't forget to bootlick the new king before they left. The crowded hall soon became empty. The only person remaining in the hall was 'him', the new king and his trusted hidden guards along with Jun Liang.
He then walked towards the statue while glaring at it with a ruthless expression. He then pressed a ruby present in the middle of the shield. In fact the ruby was a button and when it was pressed the statue suddenly started to open revealing a person inside it.
