Queen Latifah walked out with her head held high, despite the fact that she was full of complex emotions swirling inside. It was a mix of excitement and nervousness, happiness and trepidation.
Excitement to be able to finally see her son but at the same time, utterly nervous to meet her son. Happiness to know that her son was alive and well, yet most of all, there is trepidation - rather, the fear of his reaction to her. Specifically, his possible rejection of her when they meet.
If they meet.
She gritted her teeth and resolved to meet her son, no matter what. From what Messi and Ichinose had reported, he was not rejecting his identity but he was adamant at not acknowledging the family.
Wasn't that the same thing?!
How can you accept your identity but at the same time, not accept the family?
Why was he being so contradictory?
