Jimin had followed Yoonji's advise and texted Yoongi. He honestly expected that the boy wouldn't give a single shit to his text. That was why he nearly died in surprise when his phone suddenly vibrated and found that it was Yoongi.
Yoongi-hyung: What do you want?
Me: I just want to thank you for helping me. I know you had something to do with Yoonji asking to hang out before she leaves.
Yoongi-hyung: I don't know anything about that.
Me: Well, whatever you say, hyung.
Yoongi-hyung: What are you doing? You should be sleeping by now.
Me: I could tell you the same.
Yoongi-hyung: I work better at dawn so I always stay up light to do my music. You, on the other hand, should sleep now. You still have classes tomorrow. It's not good to stress your body, Jimin.
Me: But you also have classes too! You should sleep now as well.
Yoongi-hyung: I'm still doing something.
Me: I will not sleep if you'll not sleep. :P
Yoongi-hyung: Fine, I'm sleeping now.
Me: Okay!
Me: Hyung?
Me: Yoongi-hyung??
Yoongi-hyung: Zzzzz
Me: Hey! That's cheating! You're still not asleep.
Yoongi-hyung: And so are you. Sleep now.
Me: You're not sleeping yet.
Yoongi-hyung: I'm already sleeping.
Me: If you're asleep, how is it that you're texting me?
Yoongi-hyung: I'm sleep-texting.
Me: Is there even something like that? Hyung, be serious!
Yoongi-hyung: I am serious, Park Jimin. Sleep now. I'll text you tomorrow. If you send me another text, I'll not reply to it.
It was Yoongi's promise to text tomorrow that made Jimin obey him. He slept that night with a smile on his face, all the heavy emotions in his heart because of Yoonji now forgotten.
The following day, Yoongi did text.
And from there, they had been texting more and more. They also started exchanging greetings when they meet at school. Jimin giving a cheerful wave and Yoongi granting him with a simple nod. They were not that close in person, but they were definitely close friends in text. They even communicate through Twitter as well and other SNS accounts, sending each other not just messages but also pictures and videos.

"Hyung, listen to me!" Jungkook complained, making Jimin look up at him.
"I'm listening to you," Jimin lied.
Jungkook rolled his eyes. "You've been texting nonstop. Who's that, anyway?" The nosy kid craned his neck to see who it was. Jimin hid his phone and kicked the other boy's shin to make him go away. Aish.
"This is none of your business, Kookie."
"Don't tell me you already have a girlfriend?"
"I repeat, none of your business. Doesn't mean that you already have a boyfriend, you're gonna stick your nose to other people's business."
Jungkook snorted. "So defensive, hyung. Jin-hyung and I just simply noticed that you've been so busy with your phone these weeks. We're just curious. But really, isn't it too fast for you to replace that Yoonji?"
Aish. How was it possible that Jimin was friends with this rabbit? HOW?!
"It's not like that. Yoongi-hyung is not-"
Jimin stopped mid-sentence, realizing his grave mistake.
Jungkook smirked.
"So it's Yoongi-hyung, huh? Knew it! You have a crush on him!"
Jimin quickly covered the younger's mouth with his hands, looking from left to right. They were currently waiting outside Jimin's house. They just had their showcase yesterday, and since it was very successful, they planned to celebrate today at Yoongi's place. The others and Jin (since he still need to get the cupcakes he ordered) would just go straight there while Jungkook and Jimin would be fetched by none other than Yoongi himself.
That was why Jimin almost had a heart attack when Jungkook screamed, fearing that Yoongi would choose that moment to arrive and hear them.
"I do not have a crush on him!" Jimin whisper-shouted, pulling his hand back from the glaring Jungkook.
"Oh really, then why did you dress so nicely? You even took an hour just to perfect your damn eyeliner! You're weird, hyung. You have a crush on two people that are siblings."
Jimin smacked him in his head. "Shut up!"
Minutes later, Jungkook was already wrestling Jimin, straddling his thighs. Jimin on the other hand had his hands choking the neck of the other boy. They were so busy killing each other that they didn't notice a car pulled up in front of them.
A sudden beeping startled both them, causing them to literally jump. Jungkook ended up sprawled on the grass while Jimin sat up with his eyes wide as saucers. They both turned to where the sound came from.
It's Yoongi.
Both boys struggled to stand up and hurried to the car. The window slid down, revealing an expressionless Yoongi.
"Hop on. Taehyung called the tenth time already, asking if his boyfriend is already inside the car," Yoongi said, tone monotonous.
They went inside the car and Yoongi immediately started driving. Jimin couldn't believe that Yoongi just saw them in that compromising position. It was quite clear that they were in the middle of murdering each other, but it also looked like they were doing something else since their faces were near and the other boy was straddling him. Jimin had this strange urge to explain himself.
They had just been texting awhile ago. He even texted Jimin before he drove away from his place. Jimin had honestly expected anything but this. Yoongi looked so...cold.
He should probably explain himself later when they're alone.
"He should've just called me," Jungkook said, checking his phone for any calls from Taehyung.
Soon, they already arrived. When they entered Yoongi's house, they saw that Namjoon, Hoseok and Taehyung were already there. Jimin wondered where was his Jin-hyung.
"Jiminie!!!" Taehyung screamed, running towards him and hugging him tightly. He could practically feel Jungkook planning his death.
"Aish, I'm supposed to be your boyfriend here!" Jungkook complained angrily, peeling Taehyung away from him. He spent three seconds glaring at Jimin before turning to his boyfriend and kissing him as if the world was about to end.
"Uggh," Hoseok commented in disgust. Jimin felt his pain.
"Umm, so it's only you two?" Namjoon asked, the hidden question hanging in the air. He was obviously looking for Jin.
It was Yoongi who answered him. "Jin still need to get something from a bakeshop. He'll arrive moments from now."
Namjoon nodded at this and didn't ask anymore questions. He flashed a smile at Jimin before turning back to the TV that was featuring some kind of documentary about a penguin couple cheating on each other.
"I'm so excited now!!! Let's have a dance showdown later when we're complete. Yoongi-hyung, Namjoon and Jin-hyung should do it!" Hoseok exclaimed suddenly, face smiling so brightly it's almost scary.
Jimin went to sit down on the couch, having abandoned by his best friend in favor of making out with his boyfriend. He looked around the house and found that it was still as chic and as perfect as ever. It had been a while since he last came, that time when they had a practice in here. Despite the fact that it was still Jimin's second time to come here, he still remembered well where the kitchen was.
The next thing he did was to curiously observe his Yoongi-hyung. Said Yoongi-hyung was currently talking to Hoseok, probably discussing things about rap and music production that Jimin had no idea of. He had looked so grumpy awhile ago when he was fetching the two of them. Jimin wondered if he had a bad day.
This thought was immediately erased because he and Yoongi had been texting the whole day and he did not once mentioned that something irritating happened. He would usually rant to Jimin if something like that happened.
Well, it really was funny how two people could be so close in texts and chats, but not in person.
It was like, the very definition of his relationship with Yoongi. He had long conversations with the boy in texts but he haven't even spoken a single word to him at school since they started texting. They would just meet and greet each other subtly, or exchange understanding glances, especially if the other one knew that the other one was having a bad day or that the other one was so happy about something. In fact, Yoongi had that really nice gummy smile plastered on his face when Jimin went off the stage after their showcase. It was the first time that the older smiled at him.
Now though, Jimin had slightly expected that he would be able to hangout with his hyung properly, talk to him like how they talk in the texts, and if possible, become close friends with him in damn real life. Looks like things were a bit far from that.
Jimin had been staring at his hyung for so long that it took him by surprise when Yoongi shifted his gaze from the chattering Hoseok to him. Their eyes met and despite being so embarrassed for being caught, Jimin couldn't look away. His hyung's gaze was too intense, too captivating. Jimin was trapped.
He watched as Yoongi said something to Hoseok, his mouth moving but his eyes were still trained at Jimin's dark brown ones. Hoseok nodded, and soon, Yoongi was walking away towards the kitchen. He gave Jimin a meaningful glance before going inside.
Jimin blinked.
What was that about?
The confused boy remained sitting on the couch, blankly staring at the TV as he thought of what happened. He couldn't decipher it, but the weird thing was, he kind of...liked it?
"Hey Jiminie," Hoseok called him.
The younger boy looked up and smiled. "Hyung! Feeling so cheerful today, aren't you?"
Hoseok wiggled his butt while waggling his eyebrows. "Of course. I can't wait to see Grumps Yoongi dance. Speaking of him, he just went to the kitchen to prepare some food, won't you volunteer to help him out?"
Jimin furrowed his eyebrows at the knowing smile that Hoseok was giving him. Choosing to ignore it, he just nodded and stood up, obediently heading to the kitchen.
"Way to go, Chim Chim!" Hoseok cheered, which made Jimin all the more confused.
He peeked inside the kitchen, head carefully peeping out of the slightly opened door. Yoongi's back was turned to him and Jimin could see that he was grabbing plates and glasses from different cupboards.
Jimin slowly treaded inside, eyes warily glancing at his busy hyung. When he was near enough, he cleared his throat loudly to get the other boy's attention. Unlike the last time, though, Yoongi only calmly turned to him, eyes blinking twice.
"Do you need any help, hyung?" Jimin said as cheerfully as he could in order to mask the nervousness he was feeling.
Yoongi raised one eyebrow. "Sure," he said with a shrug. "I just have to place these chips and prepare the soda and juice. We've got a variety of food because Taehyung insisted so."
Jimin laughed. "So we've got soda, juice, soju and...hyung, are those tea and coffee?"
"Yes, Jiminie, yes. We also have chips, steak, fries and...well, chicken soup. Don't ask me why, ask Tae," Yoongi said with a disgusted scowl on his face.
Jimin felt a weird fluttery sensation inside his stomach when he heard Yoongi call him 'Jiminie'. "Alright then, where do I start?" the younger boy said with a smile on his face.
The two boys worked side by side in silence, the only sound filling the air was the clanking of plates and spoons. Despite the calm atmosphere, Jimin felt heavy and uncomfortable with the silence. He wanted to clear something, he wanted to explain. It was weird but that's what he really wanted.
After all, Jimin did not come here expecting for them to end up doing kitchen tasks in an uncomfortable silence, he had thought that they'd be comfortably chatting and talking. Why not? They'd been doing so in texts for these past few weeks.
"Uh, hyung, by the way," Jimin started casually. "Earlier, when you fetched us... Jungkook and I were just...trying to kill each other. Nothing else!"
Oops. That sounded so so sooooooooo lame. And crazy. And defensive.
Ugh.
Kill him now.
His statement was followed by silence in which Jimin could not keep his nerves calm. He was waiting for his hyung's reaction. And he did get it after a few moments.
Yoongi snickered as he glanced at Jimin. "Okay, Jiminie. It's very nice of you to explain."
Jimin felt heat rush on his face. "I-it's just that...u-uh..."
"You and Jungkook are pretty close, though. Anybody would think that you two are-"
"No! I-it's not like that, hyung! You should see us together, we always fight! We're nothing like boyfriends!"
This only made Yoongi laugh even more, making Jimin annoyed but at the same time happy to see a rare moment of Min Yoongi laughing.
"Who says you two are like boyfriends? I meant that you two are like brothers."
"O-oh?" And for the hundredth time that day, his face was blushing hard in embarrassment.
"Mhmm. But Chim, you should remember that Jungkook already has a boyfriend. So it's better if you, uh you know, lessen the skinship a bit," Yoongi said, now looking away from Jimin. His hyung looked so awkward, in Jimin's wonder.
It didn't stop Jimin from jumping into another explanation, though. "It's not like that! We were literally killing each other, hyung. I was trying to choke him to death and he was, well, choking me to death as well."
"Yah, yah, I apologize, princess. It's probably because my car windows are tinted so I didn't see clearly. Now continue with your task. I'm not paying you to chit-chat there," Yoongi said, flicking Jimin's forehead playfully. Jimin's face involuntarily smiled widely.
"You're not paying me," the younger boy muttered, sounding sulky even though deep inside, his mood was now uplifted.
Yoongi raised one questioning eyebrow, his smile amused. "What do you want as a price, then?"
Jimin didn't need to think for an answer to this question. He had been thinking of asking this to Yoongi for awhile now. He knew that his hyung would be a great help, and well, maybe he also wanted to bond with Yoongi a little more. Preferably, in person.
"I...actually have a favor to ask you, hyung."
The older boy stopped what he was doing and looked up at him, his gaze questioning but soft and inviting.
"We have this quarterly project for my class in Music Production and uh, we were asked to make our own original song. Maybe...you could help me out?"
"Mmm, I see," his hyung said, continuing on his task. "When I was at your year, we had the same project and I got the highest grade. You went to the right person, kid." The older boy flashed a smirk, before winking at Jimin and making him feel weird and messy all around his insides. Jimin didn't understand why was that.
They continued doing their task, and soon, Jin finally arrived and they started the party. Least to say, it had been one of the weirdest party Jimin had been, mostly because Taehyung twerked the whole night along with a classical music by Mozart. And of course, let's not forget the fact that nobody dared to touch the green-colored chicken soup that Tae made, but still ended up eating it since the boy threatened to edit a fake nude picture of them all if they won't.
Yep.
Weird. Like, really really weird.
But Jimin was super fine with it all, especially that through the night, he and Yoongi were sitting beside each other, talking and laughing and teasing and just...having fun. The sudden interaction made Jimin feel closer to Yoongi—not just in a virtual way—and even made him more comfortable with the physical presence of the other.
The night ended with a smiling Jimin, his eyes shaping two crescent moons and his one hand gently settled on Yoongi's lap as the older boy laughed and told a funny tale about Hoseok.
Yep, weird.
But in a good way.
•|•|•|•|~YM~|•|•|•|•
It was funny how the two easily became so close to each other, to the point that Jimin was more than comfortable to cuddle with Yoongi at any given moment. It's nice, really. And his hyung didn't seem to mind, just letting Jimin wrap his whole body around him like a koala. Jimin was also fond with nuzzling his nose at the crook of Yoongi's neck.
What's wrong with that? His hyung simply smelled so good.
Every after school, Jimin would head straight to Yoongi's house to do his project. His hyung mostly explained to him the very nature of songwriting the first few days. Then he gave Jimin techniques and suggestions on how to write songs. Jimin was also taught of how to use a mixer and how to combine rhythms and beats to make a wonderful track. Yoongi even allowed him to listen to some of the songs he made. Jimin, least to say, was very, very, very amazed.
Now, Yoongi finally gave him the go signal to start writing a proper song. Actually, he had been encouraged to start writing already a long time ago, that first time that Jimin went to his house to ask help for the project. But each time Jimin tried, he just...failed. Miserably. He was not happy with any of the few lines he attempted to write and all of them were now living inside his trash bin.
It's a lost cause.
Now though, Yoongi gave a final shit. No more lessons, no more teaching. JUST. WRITING. LYRICS.
Jimin sighed the more he thought about it. He was currently seated beside Yoongi on the older boy's couch, almost his entire body sprawled unto the said older male, and his head comfortably settled on Yoongi's chest.
"Hyung..."
"Jimin. You've been here for an hour now," Yoongi said with a sigh, his fingers treading over Jimin's locks.
Jimin buried his face to his hyung's chest. "I know..."
"Jimin, you should start doing it now. The deadline is nearing," he scolded lightly. Not really effective to Jimin.
"But I can't think of anything. I give up. I don't want to do this project," Jimin whined. Who cared if he sounded childish?
"Is this you lowkey telling me that I should make this project for you?"
The question made Jimin scowl with disgust. He sat up properly, no longer hugging him like a koala would to a tree branch, and gave him an indignant stare. "Of course not! I'm not that kind of person, hyung. I don't want you to make it for me. I want to pass a song that I really wrote, may it seem like a freaking nursery rhyme!" After his indignant speech, he went back to his previous position, melting on top of Yoongi. "I just really can't think of anything right now..."
He heard Yoongi heave a sigh again. "Then you should start with it now. What, are we just gonna cuddle here all day or you'll start with your very important project?"
"We're not cuddling..."
Jimin was sure that his hyung rolled his eyes. "Of course we're not, Jiminie. Now go away, me spoiling you is not helping at all," Yoongi said while trying to dislodge Jimin from him, much to the younger's disappointment. Jimin only held tighter. Nobody could stop him from making Yoongi his tree branch. Nobody.
"No, hyung!" Jimin wailed. "Don't peel me away! I'll be a sad little rice cake!"
"Aish, Park Jimin. I don't even understand why I listen to your stupid pleas," the older answered as he sat back and finally gave up on trying to dislodge the younger. Jimin cheered happily.
"Hmm, better... I'll start now, promise!"
"How can you even start if you're hugging me like I'm your lifeline?"
Jimin reached for his phone that was inside his back pocket and opened the Notes app. "I'll type it in my phone," he said, one hand holding the phone and the other hand still firmly wrapped around Yoongi. The older boy patted his head.
"You need inspiration," he said helpfully.
"I don't have one. My life isn't exactly as dramatic as yours, hyung."
Yoongi went silent for awhile as Jimin stared hard at the offending screen of his phone. His mind was blank. Awfully blank.
Yoongi felt warm, by the way. Just saying.
"How about...Yoonji?" Yoongi suddenly spoke.
Jimin went stiff as rock. Yoonji.
Wow, he hadn't even thought of Yoonji for awhile now. That was odd, Jimin thought. But then, he was trying to forget her, right? Then maybe he really did succeed. Just maybe.
"What? My unrequited love for your sister will be my inspiration?" Jimin said jokingly. He hoped the bitterness in his tone wasn't obvious.
"Exactly. Uh, I forgot to tell you that she...already has a boyfriend. They just recently got to together so... You remember that best friend of hers that I told you about?"
"Mmm. The one she's in love with? Well, that's nice then. She deserves to be happy." So she already got a boyfriend. It did pain Jimin a bit, but he was surprised that he barely felt anything more.
Jimin looked up to get a closer look at Yoongi. He really did look so much like Yoonji. If only that eyeglasses would be gone, plus his long bangs cut short, and maybe-
"Unrequited love is a good inspiration. I should know."
Jimin blinked. "You have an unrequited love, hyung?"
Yoongi shrugged. "Kind of."
The younger boy honestly couldn't believe it. This ice cold man that Jimin had always thought as mysterious and laid back had an unrequited love? How was that even possible? Jimin always thought that no one would turn down Min Yoongi. He was Min Yoongi. Shit, that girl must be blind, deaf, and even dead for all he knew. It's impossible to reject such a good-looking creature.
"Who is it?" Jimin asked more, his curiosity now piqued.
"It's someone that knows someone who is the son of someone. Stop asking about my nonexistent love life and start with your project," he said in dismissal and lightly smacked the younger on the head, before returning it to its previous place which was wrapped around Jimin's waist.
Jimin snuggly settled one cheek on Yoongi's chest, feeling the older boy breathe.
"This is so hard."
•|•|•|•|~YM~|•|•|•|•
Jin nervously tapped his foot as he gazed at the boy far ahead who's sitting on the bench. He's not really sure if this was the right thing to do, but this was for Jimin, so Jin would have to push through.
He walked towards the younger boy and coughed to get his attention.
Namjoon looked up.
It was probably one of the most awkward moments in Jin's life. The two of them hadn't talked ever since they broke up, and all of the interactions they had were really uncomfortable. They barely even had a closure.
"I need to talk to you about Jimin," he said, struggling to look straight in the eye at the boy he once loved.
Namjoon jerked his head in what Jin assumed as a nod, before scooting slightly to give space for Jin to sit on. The older boy sat, back straight as a rod and body stiff. He cleared his throat again.
"What is this about?" Namjoon spoke with a low voice that Jin almost did not hear.
Jin stared at his lap. "I noticed that Jimin and Yoongi are becoming very close."
"Mmm. Anything wrong with that? You know, Yoongi-hyung might look a little mean but the truth is-"
"I know, okay. I know. It's just that... I can't help but be worried about Jiminie. He was really crazy with this Yoonji. I didn't even know Yoongi had a sister. From what I remember, you said that he only had an older brother," Jin spoke, allowing his voice to sound skeptic for the sake of lowkey telling Namjoon that he was not feeling good about this whole thing.
He narrowed his eyes and gazed at the boy as he answered. Jin would know if he's lying. "I also didn't know. I only found out about it recently," he said.
Namjoon was being unclear. Jin needed to dig deeper. "But can I at least see a picture of this Yoonji. I tried to search her in SNS but I couldn't find-"
"Jin," Namjoon cut him off with a sigh. "Why are you even thinking so deep about this all? Jimin seemed like he was already over Yoonji. Plus, are you seriously suspecting Yoongi, the man who spends half of his day sleeping and the other half producing music? He couldn't even kill a mosquito out of overdosed laziness."
Jin pursed his lips. Namjoon did have a point. Actually, Namjoon really was making sense, much to Jin's dismay. But...there's just something with this whole setup.
"I don't know... I feel like there's something wrong. You know me, my motherly instincts never get wrong," Jin stated, his eyes trained at the bush in front of him as he scowled. He didn't even notice that the awkwardness already faded and that they were just talking the way they would usually do.
Namjoon chuckled. "Of course, you and your motherly instinct."
Jin had missed that laugh, and hadn't even realized it until now. "Are you mocking me, Joon?" the older boy said with a glare that could kill even the toughest lion.
"Maybe?"
"Aish, shut up."
As Jin continued to scowl and sulk, Namjoon also continued to laugh. Jin couldn't fathom how the younger found the situation funny. He scowled even more and crossed his arms.
When the laughter was over, the awkwardness suddenly returned with a vengeance, wrapping them with uncomfortable silence as both boys realized that it was the first time in a long time that they had a proper conversation. As seconds ticked by, the silence became more intense, heavy and thick, as if there were words that needed to be said but were choked in their throats.
Jin couldn't handle it anymore.
"Umm, I think I should get going now. Thank you for your help," he said, standing up quickly.
Namjoon grabbed his hand. "Wait, Jin! Can we- Can we talk for a little more? I need to tell you something."
Despite his mind telling him otherwise, Jin still sat back. "What is it?"
The younger's eyes gazed at him intensely for a long while before he started speaking.
"I was wrong. And I- I apologize, okay? I thought I was right and my pride was too high to admit defeat, but I regretted it every minute. You have no idea, Jin. You have no freakin idea how much I miss you." Namjoon's eyes were almost begging, his hands clasping one of Jin's as he spoke.
Jin would like to pretend that he didn't know what the boy was saying. But he knew. He knew it very well. After all, Namjoon kissing another boy in a filthy club was still so clear in his mind.
"I was drunk, and you know that I was pissed off that time. I was long gone and had no idea what I was doing. Shit, if only I was in my right mind, I wouldn't have done that," the younger boy added, eyes now teary. Jin felt his heart tighten.
They had a huge fight that time. Jin's friend asked him to play the lead role in a homosexual-themed movie that they were doing for a school project. Jin, being an aspiring actor, immediately accepted. Namjoon got furious about this because the boy who's playing the other lead role had a serious crush on Jin and always bullied Namjoon. They fought because of this, Jin thinking that he was overacting and Namjoon insisting that the boy was doing it on purpose to make a move on Jin.
The small fight somehow erupted into something big and Namjoon ended up leaving and going to a club. Jin realized that maybe he said too much so he went after Namjoon, only to find him kissing some other guy.
They broke up, neither of them even trying to patch things up. Jin guessed that they just both believed that they were right and won't swallow their pride. It was awful, all those moments of avoiding and ignoring each other.
"It's not just your fault. I was wrong, too. I knew you were right when you told me that Shinho didn't really need my acting skills, but only recruited me to take advantage of the situation. I guess I was just blinded by the fact that I was being offered by a main role. It was...pretty stupid of me," Jin explained, his mind filled with what happened in the past.
"You're not stupid," Namjoon chastised. "I was the stupid one because I let myself be wasted in a weird club with no friends accompanying me. I'm really sorry..."
Jin watched as the younger boy looked away and licked his lower lip. Jin knew this action. Namjoon was trying to stop himself from crying.
He didn't even realize how he missed seeing this. He looked so adorable trying hard not to cry. He missed this. He missed Kim Namjoon.
"Does this mean that our anniversary date changed?" Jin spoke, a smile slowly forming on his lips.
Namjoon looked up, his eyes getting wider by the second. "What do you mean?"
"Well, we broke up for a few months, so if we celebrate our anniversary this year, it won't really be an anniv. But if we change our anniversary, then shouldn't it be today?" he explained, but when he looked at the younger boy, Namjoon was only staring at him unbelievably.
Jin was annoyed because the other boy was not listening. He was so serious explaining the very important system of anniversaries and yet Namjoon was just staring at him like he couldn't believe that Jin was in front of him.
The older boy was about to shoot sassy complains when all of a sudden, Namjoon hugged him tight, kissing him on the lips as the younger boy chuckled a little. He kissed Jin again, making the older boy feel the stretch of Namjoon's smiling lips on his.
"What's wrong with you? Have you gone mad these past few months we broke up?" Jin protested with his face scrunched up as he struggled to fight off the rude blush that was forcing its way to his cheeks and ears.
"Nah, I just missed you. I wonder how I was able to survive without your nagging and cooking," Namjoon replied. His face was now buried into the crook of Jin's neck, his breathing tickling the older boy a bit.
Jin smiled secretly. "Of course you missed me. Speaking of cooking, let's go to Jimin's to eat. His place is just a walk from here."
Namjoon nodded.
"Anything you want, Charmander."
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
"Do we have to knock? You said something about not knocking before, right?" Namjoon asked once they reached Jimin's apartment. Their hands were occupied with plastic bags that contained food they bought from a nearby convenience store.
Jin shook his head. "I come here all the time and never once did I knock. Jimin used to have this weird fear on strange noises including knocks. He got used to me not knocking even though he already got over that childish phobia of his," he explained as he struggled to twist the knob and used the corner of his shoulder to open the door. When he did so, though, the plastic bags held by his hands were dropped, just like his jaw. He heard another thump, probably Namjoon's plastic bags falling as well.
He couldn't blame him. He, himself, was currently in a state of violent shock. Violent, because it's too much that it's affecting his ability to think of proper adjectives.
Right there on Jimin's couch was Yoongi laid on his back, and on top of him was Jimin laying down on his stomach. It was like the younger boy was using Yoongi as his personal mattress. But not just that, Jimin had his head lifted while using his elbows to support him and he was poking Yoongi's nose.
"Yah, you're so heavy, Jiminie..." Yoongi complained.
Jin raised one eyebrow when Jimin chuckled. "You don't have a choice, hyung. You'll forever have to suffer with Park Jimin's existence," he said while poking Yoongi's nose again, his eyes turned into his usual eyesmile as he smiled down at Yoongi.
They're...really sweet.
Jin chose that moment to clear his throat. The two boys whipped their heads to the side, eyes widening when they saw Jin and Namjoon.
In Jin's peripheral vision, he saw Namjoon smirk.
"H-hyung!" Jimin exclaimed as he scrambled to get down from the couch—or from Yoongi. "Y-you're here! We were just, uh... Hyung is helping me in my project. Yeah..."
"I see. You two do look like you were really doing a project," Jin remarked.
The deep blush on Jimin's face was something to see.
•|•|•|•|~YM~|•|•|•|•
"Hey Yoongi-hyung," Hoseok whispered.
Both of them were in Hoseok's house. They were revising the new tracks they'd been working on and Yoongi was starting to get sleepy.
"Hmm?" he answered the younger boy.
"I was just wondering, should we now tell the truth to Jimin?"
Well, that definitely made the sleepiness go away. "What did you just say?"
"I... Aish, hyung. This whole lie has been going on for so long now. Jimin already seemed to move on from his silly little crush and the two of you are so close now. Like, really close. I think Jimin would understand if we will just explain prope-"
"No."
"No?"
Of course, no. What was he thinking? After two years of pining for this cute little rice cake that barely knew his existence, he finally had the chance to be close to him. He saw how serious —and embarrassed, even—Jimin was with the whole Yoonji thing. And he very well knew that shit would go down if he told him the truth. Yoongi was not ready to let this go. Not today. Not now.
Maybe someday but just not now.
"We can't do that for now. Jimin will think we are just playing with him," Yoongi reasoned. But he was a genius, he himself knew that there's so many gaping holes in his excuse.
Hoseok frowned. "But if we let this go longer, won't Jimin feel more betrayed?"
Point taken.
"And what if Jimin finds out himself?" Hoseok added.
True.
"Yoongi-hyung, Jimin would understand. Maybe he will get mad for awhile but he will still-"
"Trust, Hoseok. He will never trust us again. Don't you see? It will never be the same," Yoongi said, eyes trained on the computer screen. He'd been avoiding this conversation but here he was.
Hoseok sighed. "I think you're just underestimating Jimin. I know him, he'd understand. We did not do that to play on him or to trick him. In the first place, it all started because we couldn't tell him that Yoonji does not exist. Things just got out of hand, but I don't think we've went out of the limitation. I mean, we didn't make him hope for something. We even tried to discourage him from his feelings, right?"
The last part sounded hesitant. Yoongi understood, and he also knew that Hoseok understood his side. What Hoseok did not understand that maybe the reason why Yoongi was afraid was because he's afraid to lose something bigger, something he had waited for so long.
Yoongi spoke. "I'll tell him, but not yet."
•|•|•|•|~YM~|•|•|•|•
Days passed by and Jimin was almost finished with his project. The lyrics was already done, but not yet final. He also already made a lame track for the song, which he thankfully was able to improve with the help of his Yoongi-hyung. They were also now in the middle of mixing different combinations of the track, the melody of the song and sound effects. He had no idea that making a song was this complicated. Many of his other classmates were done because they were not doing it the complex way unlike Jimin. Well, what could he do? He was being guided by the pro.
Now though, Jimin once again found himself surrounded by six other boys at Yoongi's house. They were celebrating the fact that Jin and Namjoon were together again, for more than a week now.
Jimin smiled as he remembered this. He knew they would get back together. And he was not wrong.
"Jimin-ah!" Jungkook called loudly as he sat beside Jimin and heavily hung his arm over the older's shoulder.
Jimin moodily shook away the boy's arm. "I'm your hyung, Jungcock, please remember that."
Jungkook rolled his eyes as Taehyung chuckled. After eating a brownie dipped in mayonnaise, Tae approached them and seated on the other side of Jimin.
"Hyung, I heard that you are featuring Grumpy Old Pants in your song. Can you also feature us?" Tae said, his box smile lighting up the whole room.
Jimin blinked. "W-well...umm-"
"Yah, you sound like you don't want to include us. It's fine, hyung. We know that you don't care about us," Jungkook said, mock-sulkily.
Taehyung pouted. "But you featured Yoongi-hyung! It's unfair. I also want to sing in your song."
Jimin was about to explain that the song was not yet final and that Yoongi, being his mentor, of course knew the song inside out and could easily insert his rap, but then Jungkook interrupted.
"Taetae, of course Jimin would include hyung in his song. He has this really huge crush on him, after all!"
The little monster! Ugh! Aish!
Taehyung blinked rapidly. "Really?"
And of course, Namjoon-hyung just had to hear. "Wait, did you say that Jimin has a crush on...Yoongi?" he said, standing from his squatting position in front of the TV and walking toward them.
"He's obsessed. It's so disturbing," Jungkook added.
Jimin was very, very indignant. "Yah, JUNGKOOK-AH! Stop spreading lies about me! Namjoon-hyung, that's not true!"
"It is," Jungkook insisted.
"It's not!"
"It is."
"No, it's not!"
Namjoon was looking at them back and forth with an amused smile on his face. Jimin was so thankful that Hoseok-hyung and his Jin-hyung was out buying cupcakes or the embarrassment would be unbearable.
"It is."
"Aish, shut up Jungkook!" Jimin had enough. He did not even notice that his voice was so loud. "The song is not yet finished. How can I be sure to include you all if it's not even final yet?! And well, of course Yoongi-hyung would be featured in my song, he's the one who helped me through it!"
Jimin panted after berating at Jungkook, his eyes glaring hard at the younger.
"Did I hear my name?"
Everybody turned as Yoongi's raspy voice came. He was just sleeping inside his room awhile ago. Shit.
"What are you guys talking about?" Yoongi asked as he came closer.
Jimin quickly answered before Jungkook would. "It's n-nothing, hyung!" Jimin's smile probably looked too wide and too forced for Yoongi to raise one eyebrow amusedly.
The older boy tilted his head at the group gathered. "Really, what are you guys talking about? Include me in your conversation," he said as he looked around, to grab a chair maybe.
Jungkook didn't miss a beat, it seemed. "Hyung! Just sit here!" He stood up and went to sit at the armrest beside Taehyung, leaving a space beside Jimin.
Jungkook winked at Jimin. Ugh.
Yoongi, having no idea of what really was happening, complied and sat beside Jimin. He wrapped his arm around Jimin and turned his attention at Namjoon. "Joon, what are you guys talking about?"
Namjoon glanced at Jimin for a second, in which Jimin rapidly blinked his eyes in a silent way of begging. Namjoon, of course, was a far better and more dignified person than Jeon Jungkook. "We were just talking about how Tae wanted everyone to be featured in Jimin's song."
"Mm, really? Well, that would be a great idea, but the song still needed a lot of polishing so we couldn't decide for now. Jimin would be the judge," he said, turning his gaze to Jimin.
"I'd like to do that," Jimin said simply, conscious at Jungkook's smirking gaze on Yoongi's arm wrapped around his shoulders.
Yoongi nodded. "We'd have to adjust a few things if seven voices would be in it. By the way, did you guys know that Jimin has a really nice voice?"
Jimin felt himself flush. Yoongi sounded so amazed as he bragged about Jimin's lame singing voice. Namjoon and Taehyung were interested, having found out about this new information. Jungkook, on the other hand, didn't seem to care because he had known a long time already that could Jimin actually sing.
Looks like the youngest was interested at something else. "Well," Jungkook spoke up, and somehow, Jimin knew he was in deep shit. "If it's so surprising that Jimin-hyung has a nice voice, I think it's more surprising that his phone is filled with Yoongi-hyung's picture."
"W-what?!" Jimin was the first to react, incredulously at that.
"How many exactly?" Taehyung was the next to speak.
Then, it was Namjoon. "You're joking, right?"
"I wanna see this," Yoongi was the last to comment, his voice laced with so much amusement.
At this moment, Jimin started to panic, because well, he did have a lot of pictures of Yoongi on his phone. A few were from the boy's Twitter that he saved, some were selfies of Yoongi that he took on Jimin's phone, and a lot of stolen pictures (and maybe there are also a few that Jimin secretly Bluetoothed from Yoongi's phone to his). Talk about embarrassing.
"I left my phone at the house!" Jimin said, almost shouted, actually.
Jungkook snickered. "Nope. Just saw you pocketing it about an hour ago."
Jimin was once again reminded that he probably killed Jungkook in his past life for him to receive such a tormenting treatment from the ungrateful aforementioned boy. He just hoped that he'd get a chance to kill him in this lifetime as well.
"I will not," Jimin firmly stated. "I have my own rights and I- Whoa! Hyung, what are you doing?!"
Yoongi was, unfortunately for Jimin, currently reaching out and patting the younger's pocket. He unashamedly dipped his hand unto the pocket that held Jimin's phone and swiftly snatched it before Jimin could do anything. Everybody snickered except for Jimin. He was not thankful anymore that Jin and Hoseok were not here. They were the only sane people in this group and he knew they would reprimand them for bullying him like this.
"I'll tell Jin-hyung!" he announced as much.
Nobody seemed to care.
"Yah, there's a password," Yoongi announced.
"It's 0313!" Jungkook shouted from the other end of the couch.
"Let me see!" Taehyung exclaimed.
"Me too," Namjoon declared, standing to sit on the armrest of the couch beside Yoongi.
Poor Jimin wanted to cry. He could already feel the heat rising up to his face as seconds ticked by.
Why do I exist?
"Whoa! Jungkook was right. There really are a lot," he heard Namjoon said. And Jimin just knew that everything was over. He'd be packing tonight and flying to Hawaii. Anywhere. Just away from here and from Jeon Jungkook.
"Many of these are just selfies I did on his phone," Yoongi reasoned, making Jimin so thankful of his presence in his life. "I always do selcas on his phone because for some reason, I look really good in it compared to my own phone."
"But is it just all pictures of you, hyung?" And of course, Jungkook had to insert himself. He's barely surprised now.
Jimin chose to stare at his lap, only observing Yoongi from his peripheral vision. His hyung was silent for awhile as he scrolled. Ugh, he hoped that he won't see his close up photos of him rapping on stage that time Jimin went with him when he did underground rapping.
"But there are a lot of stolen pictures in here," Yoongi spoke, making Jimin wince and grimace at the same time. "You do not actually plan to build a fansite for me, are you?"
And Jimin of course, would desperately hang on to any escape route he'd get.
"Exactly, hyung! I saw this little account in Twitter devoted to you." Jimin was not even lying. Yoongi was not at all famous in school, but Agust D was very famous in underground rapping. "So I was thinking that maybe I could make an Agust D fansite or something."
"That's so adorable. I wish I also have someone as supportive," Namjoon remarked dreamily.
"Why are you looking for someone who's supportive? What am I then, a potato?!" Jin's mad voice suddenly rang and they all turned to see that he and Hoseok had already arrived, their hands occupied with boxes of cupcakes as they stood in the doorway. "I may not have heard the full conversation but I still feel insulted nonetheless."
Namjoon scrambled to stand up and go after Jin as the older boy sulkily walked to the kitchen to prepare the cupcakes and other food.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
It was almost midnight and many of them were already half-drunk. Jimin went out for fresh air, his face flushed with the little alcohol he took. He had always been a light drinker.
He was enjoying the cold breeze when he felt someone kick him lightly on the shin. He turned around.
"Hi, hyung." The shit-eating smile of Jungkook greeted him.
Jimin sighed. "What now, Kookie?"
The younger boy chuckled at hearing the weary tone on his hyung. His laugh did not sound teasing, though, nor mischievous, just happy. This made Jimin smile.
"Your boyfriend only have two spare rooms, so you'll be staying with Jin-hyung and Namjoon-hyung because Hoseok-hyung will be staying with me and Tae. You could also spend the night at your boyfriend's room, if you want," Jungkook explained, his eyebrows waggling suggestively at the last sentence.
Jimin scowled after heaving an 'I'm so done with life' sigh. "Jeon Jungkook. Yoongi-hyung is not my boyfriend and I do not have a crush on him nor am I obsessed with him. Please."
He was expecting a witty reply from the younger, but instead, he was met with silence. This was very rare for Jungkook and Jimin could not believe it that he glanced at his side just to make sure that Jungkook was really still there and did not leave yet.
In fact, the boy was still there. What surprised Jimin more was that he was sporting a serious face as he looked afar.
"Jungkook?"
Jungkook blinked twice, then turned to Jimin, his lips slowly smiling.
"Hyung, I'm so annoying, right? You probably want to bury me alive for teasing you so much."
"I'm so proud that you noticed, Kookie."
The younger boy chuckled lightly, shaking his head. "You know hyung, I'm really thankful of you and Jin-hyung. You two had always been there ever since I could remember. You look too adorable with all the chubby cheeks and Jin-hyung was too gorgeous to look scary, and yet, you still stood up for me when I was being bullied by those three bulky boys years ago. I was a stranger, but you two did not hesitate to help me, and until now, you are still here." He then turned to look at Jimin. "True that making you irritated makes my day but I honestly really care about you, hyung."
Jimin couldn't help but raise one eyebrow. "What's happening to you? Is this the booze talking?"
But expectedly, Jungkook, who started the serious atmosphere, was the one who broke it as he suddenly clicked his tongue in a very obnoxious way, hanging his arm on Jimin's shoulder.
"You simply don't understand, ma friend. You might get so pissed off on my teasing but in hindsight, this is all just for your sake. You're so lame at this that I, Jeon Jungkook, protector of all lame in love, needed to step in."
Jimin glared at him. "I don't understand a shit."
"You're so lame, hyung. You can't even realize that you have feelings for Yoongi-hyung. Do you even have any idea how your eyes spark when you look at him? Or how often you stare at him? Your smile is so different when you're around Yoongi-hyung. I was teasing you in the hopes that you'd realize your feelings, but after some thinking a few moments ago, I realized that it was not gonna work. I need to slap it on your face, which is what I'm doing now."
Jimin blinked.
Did Jungkook just...? The older boy honestly had no idea what to say or how to react. He and Yoongi were very close but...
"Hyung, you know that I only do this when I'm sure, right? I care about you just as I care about Jin-hyung," Jungkook said, voice soft. This made Jimin remember that time when Jin and Namjoon were still not boyfriends and only study buddies. Jungkook was also the one who made a move to make Jin realize that he liked Namjoon more than just a friend.
"B-but..." And yet, Jimin still found himself denying it. Well, Yoongi was really special for him but it didn't mean that Jimin liked him that way, right? "I-... I just admire him so much. He's a r-really good rapper and music producer, and... Yoongi-hyung is just so handsome and talented and funny and his voice is so raspy and deep and his face is just so perfect and his laugh sounds so pleasant and...and his gummy smile is so... I... I just admire him. So much. That's all."
He could feel his voice get softer and softer until he himself could no longer hear his own voice. What was happening? What's wrong with him?
"YAH PARK JIMIN!!!" Jungkook suddenly shouted, voice filled with obvious frustration as he rubbed his face with his hands. Jimin was more concerned that the people inside the house might hear than on the fact that Jungkook didn't call him hyung. "Why can't you just listen to me for once?! Jin-hyung listened to me and look what happened, he's back together with Namjoon-hyung now!"
This definitely made Jimin's eyebrows rise, momentarily shifting his thoughts from one pale boy to his Jin-hyung. "What do you mean?"
"Well, Jin-hyung was ranting how you and Yoongi are getting too close to each other and I just told him to shut up and ask Namjoon-hyung instead because he probably knew better. I knew that the only lacking was for them to talk properly and I was not wrong."
The younger boy then fully faced Jimin now, his eyebrows pulled down in anger as he pointed at Jimin rather rudely. "You, on the other hand, should now wake up. You like Min Yoongi, heck, you probably even love him. Tell me otherwise or I'll burn your boyfriend's house."
The strong and firm words coming from Jungkook's mouth definitely shut Jimin up. He couldn't understand. He was...confused.
Did he...really have feelings for Yoongi?
Were all this admiration actually something else? Something deeper and more serious?
Flashbacks came into Jimin's mind and he remembered the first time he met Yoongi through his Jin-hyung. Namjoon and Jin became good friends that time because Jin asked Namjoon to tutor him for their English class. He held his hand for Yoongi to shake as he smiled widely and introduced himself. However, the pale boy with the long bangs and thick-framed glasses merely stared at him. He did not even say his own name, but just walked away as if nothing happened.
Jimin later learned that Yoongi was naturally like that, and it was better to leave him be. He was quite scared of him, but every time he would see Yoongi smile at those rare moments, he couldn't help but smile as well.
He had just realized, the more he thought about it, that he had always been drawn to the boy. He was very curious and interested, but at the same time, the more he secretly watched, the more he discovered things he hadn't even known he had discovered. Like the way he smirks when his friends argue, or the fact that he was actually helpful deep inside but was just not into showing it.
He had helped Jimin many times before as well. But in all those times, he barely smiled his way or even gave him as much as a glance. He was really intimidating, and yet...
"You're right," Jimin whispered, voice oddly hoarse. "Shit. I didn't even know. I... I like hyung...for so long now. And now-..." The older boy turned, his eyes widening by the second as he faced Jungkook. "Now... I think I'm in love with him..."
"Job's done here," was all the brat said before flashing a quick smile and dashing back inside the house.
"W-wait- Aish! Just when I needed him."
He couldn't believe this. Jungkook just left after sending him to an emotional turmoil.
Aish.
•|•|•|•|~YM~|•|•|•|•
"Jiminie..." he heard someone call his name. Mm, sounded like his Jin-hyung. "Jiminie, wake up..."
Jimin grunted, turning and burying himself farther on the soft and comfy sheets. He heard the curtains being opened and he groaned even more, the light shining through the window and penetrating his eyes despite how much he shut it tight.
"Jimin, wake up now." There went Jin's voice again.
After a few moments, he heard Namjoon chuckle. "He's so cute when he sleeps."
"You've never seen him cry. He's really adorable," Jin said.
Jimin was trying to process all the words. Did his Jin-hyung just said something about him crying? He couldn't really understand.
When things became slightly clearer, he dared to open his eyes, only to be met by an unfamiliar room. Oh yeah, he was in Yoongi's house.
Yawning, he slowly sat up and looked around. Jin was folding some sheets and Namjoon was looking at him with an amused smile.
He frowned at Namjoon.
"Aww, Jiminie, you're so cute. I wish you were legally my son," Namjoon remarked, making Jin turn and see that Jimin was already awake.
The eldest rolled his eyes at Namjoon. "Stop gushing at Jimin, Joonie. Jiminie, go ahead and take a shower now. I'm just about to cook so go down to the kitchen after bringing this to Yoongi's room, okay?"
Jimin blinked, ears perking when he heard Yoongi's name. "What is it that I need to bring for Yoongi-hyung?"
"Just for the hangover and this shirt he lent to Namjoon. Yoongi gets really grumpy in the mornings so we figured out it's better if you'll be the one to bring this. I bet he wouldn't shout at you. Take a shower first, though," Jin explained, smiling down at him.
The youngest in the room nodded and rubbed his eyes sleepily. He complied with his Jin's orders and headed to the bathroom, only after Namjoon patted his head fondly many times though. As he washed himself, he heard his Jin-hyung's voice telling him that he and Namjoon were going down now to prepare some food. He gave a grunt as response.
After showering, he realized that he had no spare clothes. Thankfully, Jin left a set of clothes. He recognized it as Yoongi's.
He might or might not be smiling while changing into his hyung's clothes.
After that, he checked himself on the mirror first, trying to see if he looked alright. He was, after all, going to see his Yoongi-hyung. Better look good, right?
As he walked towards the bedroom of Yoongi, he couldn't help but feel his face blushing. All of the sudden, the realizations he had yesterday rushed back to him full force. It was one thing to suddenly realize that you're in love with someone, but it's a whole other thing when it would already sink on you.
He's in love with Yoongi.
He's in love with Yoongi.
Whoa, it's a big mystery how he was still alive when his heart was beating so fast it felt like he would have a heart attack any minute from now.
He breathed deeply upon arriving in front of the older boy's door. Yoongi was sleeping anyway, why was he so nervous?
And with that question in mind, he slowly opened the door and peeked inside. Just as he imagined, Yoongi was indeed still sleeping, peacefully laid on his bed as his body gently rose and fell in every breath. He looked so soft and angelic.
Jimin snorted at the thought of his hyung being angelic.
Tiptoeing his way inside, the younger carefully laid the items he was bringing on the desk, just beside the closed laptop topped with an expensive-looking headset. He tiptoed towards the door, thinking of leaving before Yoongi would wake up.
But...maybe he could just have a little more time looking at the sleeping boy's face?
Just a little.
Nerves filled with excitement and nervousness, Jimin carefully approached the sleeping form of his hyung. His hyung was laid in his stomach, his head turned to one side and arms sprawled beside his body. Jimin crouched down on the side of the bed were Yoongi's head was turned, aiming to stare at the older boy's face for just a few seconds.
It was quite rare, seeing Yoongi like this without his thick-rimmed glasses. His bangs was even pushed up a bit, revealing some skin of his forehead. He was really handsome, so good-looking. His hyung's face was not the typical handsome face, but it looked so ethereal and beautiful in its own way. A very unique face. A very handsome and unique face.
Jimin was probably already in too deep.
He also noticed something else. Yoongi looked so much like Yoonji. Now as he stared at this boy's face, free with all the glasses and hindering bangs and the usual grumpy face or smirk, he realized that he and Yoonji could be very well twins. They just...look so much alike. And Jimin couldn't even be wrong because he had seen Yoonji's face up close before, that first time they accidentally bumped into each other.
If he could just imagine that Yoongi's hair would grow longer until his shoulders, his face would be colored with light make-up, and... He really would be Yoonji.
He...
Shit. What if...
What if?
It's impossible. Nope, Jimin was just being his insane self again. It's entirely not possible that Yoongi and Yoonji were one. He knew Yoongi. He wouldn't do that to Jimin. And even if he really did, why would he?
Why would he?
Pushing the thoughts at the back of his mind, he looked away from the sleeping face of his hyung. His mind was getting crazier and crazier. Probably that's really a requirement if you're in love. Jimin didn't have any idea.
He was already on his way out when he stopped, a thought suddenly popping in his mind. Yoonji walked and even moved in a very boyish way... She looked oddly irritated that first time Jimin saw her. She was bringing Yoongi's phone. She's mute.
Jimin was not stupid.
He knew, if only one would just look at it clearly, that something was really wrong with the situation. He tried to search for Yoonji in the internet but nothing came up. Jin had also been very suspicious about the whole situation.
It wouldn't really hurt if Jimin would...
Fishing out his phone which was in his pocket, he stepped fully inside the room again. It would not hurt to call Yoonji, right?
He felt stupid, honestly, as he was about to press the dial button. This was insane. Of course Yoonji existed. What was wrong with him?
When he did press the dial button though...something rang inside the room.
There was a ringing.
Jimin's eyes widened, all the possibilities rushing unto his mind as he tried to look where the sound was coming from. It could just be a coincidence and somebody was just calling Yoongi at the exact moment.
Jimin wanted to believe that, but despite this, his body was still moving, trying to look for the source of the sound. It came from a drawer in Yoongi's desk which was unlocked when Jimin tried to open it.
Upon opening it...
A phone unfamiliar to him was somewhere in the corner, vibrating and ringing at the same time, screen facing up and displaying...displaying Jimin's name.
That was Jimin's name.
And Jimin's picture.
One that he had sent to Yoonji before.
It couldn't be...
Jimin's train of thought was cut by Yoongi suddenly stirring in his sleep, a low groan escaping his lips. The younger boy immediately cancelled the call and closed the drawer to stop the loud ringing from residing in the room. It was too late though, Yoongi was already in the middle of waking up.
Jimin needed to get out of here.
Jimin needed to escape.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
With a lazy pace, Yoongi went down the stairs to see if Jin had already cooked anything. Everyone was not in their rooms anymore so they're probably gathered in the kitchen or causing a wreckage in his living room. Turned out that it was the latter.
"Yah, what's with this yellowish pool?" the owner of the house asked with so much disgust in his face.
Taehyung, who was standing near it, smiled up at him so brightly Yoongi wanted to punch that grin off his face.
"It's Tae's Sanctuary."
"T-tae's what? What the heck?! Clean that up. For shit's sake, Tae, you promised you'll never do anything insanely weird after that one time you brought a rat's head here."
The other boy pouted and reluctantly went to get a mop. Before he did though, he stopped in front of Yoongi and whispered something.
"Hyung, Jimin is acting weird. He has been silent the whole morning. And...he seemed spaced out. I told Kookie about it but he only said that Jimin was fine and that we just have to leave him be because he was just having an existential crisis," Taehyung said with a very serious tone that was only rarely heard. That meant that something was really wrong.
The moment Taehyung mentioned Jimin's name, Yoongi's eyes quickly searched for the boy. He was listening intently at Taehyung but his gaze never left a certain boy who was watching the TV with a blank gaze.
He was right. Something was wrong here.
Jin and Hoseok were complaining about lack of help and cleaning the mess on the back part of the living room where they had left a lot of bottles of Soju and wrappers. Namjoon and Jungkook were having a competition in some kind of phone game, shouting at each other. Taehyung was grumbling as he fixed his 'sanctuary' whatsoever.
They were all doing different things in Yoongi's own house but he barely cared. His attention was focused only on Jimin.
"Hey Chim," Yoongi called gently, sitting down beside him. He felt the other boy froze, then there was silence. No response from the younger at all. "Did...something happen? You can tell hyung anything."
There was silence again, but not a normal one, judging from how Jimin's small hands were fisting and his gaze at the TV hardening. Something was really, really wrong here.
"Jimin-"
"Tell me the truth, hyung." The words were barely spoken. Jimin's voice was so low and hushed that if Yoongi only sat a few centimeters away from where he was seated, he wouldn't have heard it at all.
"What-"
"You fooled me, right?" Jimin whispered again. The words gave icy chills to Yoongi, his skin feeling uncomfortable and his heart beating fast.
"Jimin, what do you mea-"
"Stop lying!"
Yoongi knew that everyone in the room heard Jimin's sudden shout, and was now probably looking at them. But Yoongi barely cared, just like how Jimin barely cared as well. The younger boy was looking at no one but him, his eyes begging, pleading.
Yoongi's heart tightened even more to the point that it felt like he couldn't breathe.
"Don't lie, please..." Jimin begged again as a tear escaped his eyes, running down his cheekbones. "You're Yoonji, right? Yoonji... She does not exist."
Despite all the words Yoongi wanted to say, all he could do was nod.
He was too weak.
Too lame.
Too stupid.
"Jiminie, let me explain, please!" A voice spoke behind them. It was Hoseok.
The eyes of Jimin tore its gaze from Yoongi's, landing at Hoseok this time. Yoongi could clearly see the pain and feeling of betrayal in the younger's eyes. It's too much. Everything was too much.
How did it end up like this?
"You knew...? Well of course, you do." Jimin snorted bitterly, more tears running down his eyes now. "I'll give you Yoonji's number, that's what you said. Of course, hyung. I'm so stupid."
Yoongi didn't need to turn to know that Hoseok's face was in despair. He could just imagine his face. This was not Hoseok's fault. It was Yoongi's. He chose to dive into even deeper shit despite all of Hoseok's warnings.
This was Yoongi's fault.
And it finally blew up on his face.
"J-Jimin... Please understand! We don't have any bad intentions! We just wanted to...to-"
"To what Hosoek-hyung? To fool me? To laugh at me? You probably had a good joke with all the desperation I had. I don't understand... I've...done nothing bad, didn't I? B-but why?"
Drops of tears fell along the younger boy's cheeks. His hands were fisted and his voice cracked. His eyes were pleading Hoseok, asking him to answer his question.
Hoseok couldn't.
The atmosphere was stiff as everybody seemed to stop breathing, the only sound heard were the sobs of Jimin that he was forcefully swallowing away. Yoongi's eyes were trained to Jimin, and Jimin only. His mind was blank and all he could think of was that he had only wished for one thing: Park Jimin. To be close to him. But he was wrong to wish for that. He knew now.
It gave happiness to Yoongi but in the end, it caused pain to Jimin. Yoongi was a fool.
"I thought you were my friends," Jimin whispered, now looking intently at the floor with his hands still fisted.
Namjoon finally stepped in. "Jimin, please. I think you should listen to Hoseok's explanation first."
The younger boy's head snapped up at this, his eyes narrowing Namjoon. "You knew about this too, didn't you?"
Shit.
Things were getting worse by the second.
Namjoon, who visibly swallowed, looked panicked for a second before schooling his features and nodding bravely. Yoongi knew because he was observing through his peripheral vision.
Jimin only blinked, looking nothing but numb. He then turned to Taehyung with one raised eyebrow. The usually kind Jimin was now gone. "You knew too, didn't you, Tae?"
Yoongi couldn't see Taehyung because he was somewhere behind him. He heard him, though. "I do." he said, plain and flat.
Breathing in deeply, Jimin closed his eyes shut. "Who else knew, for shit's sake?!"
The question was met by silence that choked them all. Jimin was no longer crying. Instead, he looked so utterly done. Yoongi wouldn't blame him, he was feeling the same shit as well. Utterly done with life.
Then, the most unexpected voice spoke.
"I also know about it," Jin said. "Namjoon told me and explained everything the day after we got back together. Believe me, I wanted to tell you but Joonie was right, it's better if I let things be fixed by the people involved and not insert myself in the situation. I understand why you're so angry, Jiminie. You probably feel like the stupidest person on earth, but you have to understand that Hoseok and Yoongi had a reason and did not intend to hurt you," he said in the most soothing voice. Jin always saved the day.
But it seemed like this day was not one of them, because instead of looking back at Jin with understanding gaze, his eyes only hardened even more. He looked away from Jin, from any of them, and snorted sarcastically.
"What is this?" Jimin snorted again. His face both looking like he was about to laugh and to cry. He looked hysterical. It hurt Yoongi to see this. "Are you all teaming up against me? Or wait, is this some kind of a prank? You always make fun of me, tease me, so is this one of those too? I want to laugh now. Let's laugh at me now."
"J-Jimin..." Jin said, voice very worried as Yoongi heard his footsteps came.
Jimin shook his head. "Please hyung, I can't take any more lies. A lot is enough for a day, okay? You're my hyung and yet...you kept it from me. I'm not sure if this is all real or if I'm just dreaming, to be honest." The younger then turned his gaze downward and frowned. "This is a pretty stupid thing, right? Getting so hysteric over something unimportant. Maybe I'm just tired. I'll...I'll head to the room to rest..."
He was leaving...
"Jimin," Yoongi was the one who spoke this time, voice deep. He had been silent, only looking at Jimin the whole time. The younger boy stopped in his tracks but did not turn. "This is all my fault. The others had nothing to do with this."
"Yoongi!" Hoseok interrupted. Yoongi gave him a look, in which made him close his mouth.
"Hoseok only wanted to create Yoonji because he could see that you really like her. He couldn't tell you that Yoonji doesn't exist because he didn't want to make you feel sad or embarrassed. He kept on telling me that I should end the story fast, discourage you on liking her even more. It was all shit, we realized, but we had no choice because what's done is done. The others as well, only knew about it recently and did not tell you because they care about you, Jimin."
Yoongi breathed. He needed air.
"It was all my fault. I was the one who chose to keep it going just a little bit longer. Blame me, Jiminie, not them." He knew that his voice was not wavering, and his face barely had any tears, but the worry and self-hatred that Yoongi successfully hid inside was slowly eating him up.
Jimin slowly turned, finally facing Yoongi. His tears were back, flowing freely in his face as he stared up at Yoongi with a questioning face, eyebrows drawn in clear anger. "You...played with me. But why, hyung? Did I do something bad to you? Or was it just because...you wanted to make fun of me?" he whispered, eyes imploring Yoongi's. Yoongi wanted to look away, but he couldn't. He was stuck. Probably forever.
The whispered voice of Jimin slowly turned into a shout as he released all his frustration. "Was it so funny, hyung?! I probably looked so stupid doting over Yoonji who turned out to be you! Did you have a good laugh when I was blushing like some silly shit when you were with me in that amusement park?! Did you snorted at all those lame jokes I texted?! I'm such a dumb piece of shit, am I not? I should've known, should've seen it. It was so obvious and yet I'm so dense. Well, I hope you had such a good time because I'm done with all of this."
And then he was leaving again, but Yoongi had impulsively reached out his hand and grabbed the younger's arm. He held unto it as if it's a lifeline. He won't let go of Jimin. Not now, not ever.
"It's not like that."
"THEN WHY, HYUNG, WHY?! Why did you have to make me think that you're Yoonji?! Wh-"
"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!" Yoongi cut in with his own angry voice.
Everyone around them blanched at his sudden raised voice, including Jimin himself. Yoongi was surprised, too, as he was not expecting that. It was all so sudden. One moment he was succeeding in looking calm and composed, then the next, everything was hitting him like a mix of cold water and hard stones. Many emotions came rushing, and he was barely breathing anymore. He knew he was about to confess things that he might regret later, but he couldn't come to care. It was all too much.
"I love you! Heck, I can't even remember when it started, but there it is. I never intended to hurt you, much less make fun of you, Jimin. I only wanted... I only wanted to know what it feels to be that someone that you like. Maybe the reason why I tried to keep the Yoonji thing going on for awhile is because I'm enjoying it. Actually enjoying that the first thing I see everyday is your good morning text, enjoying that you keep on reminding me not to skip meals, enjoying that you would send silly selfies of yourself, enjoying that you're telling me the trivial things that happened in your day, enjoying that you actually had feelings, even if it's not for me, but for Yoonji. It's shit, but it was enough to get lost in playing pretend. You never even spared a single glance at me before. You were always this school heartthrob dancer that everyone craves for, and I'll just be this weird loner commoner that nobody really gave a shit. I... I never hoped for any fairytale miracle to happen and for you to suddenly fall in love with me. All of those are shit when you know yourself that in reality, things are much harsher. But, well, I still wondered what it would be if you'll return my feelings, if you're mine."
With a slightly trembling knees and a scowling face, Yoongi determined to continue gazing at Jimin in the eye. Looking away meant cowardice, and he was not a coward. He had been running for so long now, it was time to face the nagging words of his heart and say it out loud. He sounded weird, he knew. Jimin was probably disgusted now.
Shit, Yoongi didn't even know if the boy was straight or not.
But despite all these, he continued, this time, voice soft and no longer shouting. "Maybe...that's the reason why I agreed with all of this. I could easily make a way to cut the connection with Yoonji short, but I did not. Instead, I shittingly watered the plant, even gave it a fertilizer. And maybe I also did hope that through Yoonji, I'll finally get your attention, as Yoongi. Maybe I was hoping that we'll be friends, and that I could at least be close to you. I was never after making you fall in love with me, I'm not stupid to believe that it would even happen. Being your friend is enough, but it was not right. I...did it the wrong way. I...hurt you."
When Yoongi stopped speaking, he noticed that the room had gone impossibly quiet. He was no longer looking at Jimin's eyes, scared on what he might see there, scared to recognize rejection in those dark brown orbs. Maybe Yoongi was a coward, after all. Maybe he had been a coward all his life.
"You're not the stupid one, Jimin. I am. Tsk, this is all so stupid. Why am I even saying these things?" And with that, the older boy walked past him, intending to head to his room and maybe hide there forever. He just realized that what he had done was so embarrassing.
He was not able to do his plan of hiding, though, because he was not even a meter away from Jimin, he was being harshly pulled back. His eyes landed on the hand gripping his arm. It was small, it was Jimin's.
Yoongi looked up at him.
The younger boy looked a bit confused as he opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Yoongi just found himself, a second later, being suddenly pulled forward and...
And...
Shit, was this Jimin's lips that was softly touching his?
Oh shit shit shit, were they...were they kissing?
Yoongi pulled back.
Then blinked.
Jimin, who also looked just as surprised, blinked as well. They stayed still, doing nothing but staring at each other. Yoongi was still yet to grasp the situation. He was just confessing a minute ago, then... Wait, did they just kiss or was it only Yoongi's imagination?
The older boy licked his lips, feeling the lingering sensation of Jimin's lips on his as if it really was real. He saw Jimin follow the action with his eyes.
"Did... Did you kiss me?" Yoongi couldn't help asking. His mind was foggy and he was honestly confused.
Jimin blushed hard, eyes quickly looking down at the floor as if it's the most interesting thing on earth. "Uh, sorry. I thought...you'd like it. But umm, it was just an impulse! Don't mind it! Just forget it, hyung!"
Jimin really did kiss him.
Wow, Yoongi now felt even more stupid. The person he loved for so long just kissed him but he broke it off simply because he was too confused.
Well, what should Min Yoongi do?
Get that proper kiss he was supposed to get, of course.
The older boy dived in, his lips crashing unto Jimin's lips. He heard the younger squeak, but soon relented as he wrapped his arms around Yoongi's neck and tilted his head. He even opened his mouth to invite Yoongi's tongue in, which was quite surprising. He never knew that his cute and adorable Jimin could be aggressive when it came to things like this.
Yoongi took the opportunity and gladly explored each corner of the younger's mouth, ravaging it enjoyably. He also found out another new thing about Jimin. His tongue was actually quite playful, teasing Yoongi here and there. Everything was slowly getting more and more intense and the lack of air was getting ahead of them but still being ignored. Hands were soon snaking up under shirts and unto sweat-slick skin. Shit, this felt good.
So good.
But...
Yoongi broke off the kiss, panting hard. Jimin's hazy eyes looked straightly at his. He had not even breathed properly yet when Jimin started moving forward again, hungry for another kiss.
"Wait," Yoongi interrupted.
The younger froze midway and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Yoongi pulled back a bit, giving distance between their faces and taking a good look at the whole of Jimin's face. His face was flushed red from the kiss and his lips were swollen. He looked utterly beautiful.
"I just want to ask why you wanted to kiss me."
It took a few moments before Jimin finally blinked and opened his mouth, seeming unsure of his answer. "Uh, you said you like me-"
"Love, not like," Yoongi corrected, making the flushed face of the younger flush even more.
"Umm, yeah...l-love me so... I thought it would be f-fine to...kiss you. I've been thinking about doing that so...I was not able to stop myself," he said in a shy voice. "Sorry," he added softly.
He lifted the younger's head by his chin and looked at him in the eye. "You mean to say, you have feelings for me too?"
Yoongi knew that his voice sounded so disbelieving, but no one could blame him, he was just surprised. It never even occurred to him that Jimin could actually like him back. The younger boy was just naturally sweet and caring and...friendly. He never thought that...all of those could actually mean something else, something deeper.
"Aish! Will you stop asking, Yoongi-hyung?! He's obviously head-over-heels for you. You're way smarter than that, hyung!" someone shouted. Was it Jungkook?
Yoongi turned to the side, only to see everyone looking at them oddly with Taehyung holding up his phone.
"The heck, are you all there the whole time?" Yoongi asked incredulously, because seriously, what in the name of swagless shit were these people?
Jin spoke up in a scolding voice. "It's not our fault that you forgot we're here. Aish, will you please pull down Jimin's shirt? It's quite disturbing to see my son's abs in this kind of situation."
Jin's words made Yoongi look down at his other forgotten hand which was indeed splayed on Jimin's stomach, causing his shirt to ride up and expose the abs that kept on haunting Yoongi's dreams.
He quickly pulled off his hand and cleared his throat awkwardly.
"When are you gonna kiss again?" he head Taehyung complain.
"Wait Tae, are you taking a video of us?"
Tae nodded shamelessly and smiled. "Of course. I wouldn't miss the opportunity to record my hyung's first chance on molesting the subject of his wet dreams. I'll send you a copy in a disc, don't worry!"
And that was when Yoongi realized that Taehyung was truly an escapee from the nearest asylum. But he found that he really didn't care, he was, after all, the one who dared him to dress as a girl.
Which brought him here, just a few centimeters apart from the one he loved.

Jungkook tightened his hold around Taehyung as they were sitting on the couch. "I can't believe that there was so much drama last week."
Hoseok laughed. "But it's more unbelievable that Yoongi would be dressing up as Yoonji again soon."
All of them were once again bombarding Yoongi and gathering in his house just to cause chaos everywhere. Namjoon was already scattering crumbs everywhere.
Jin, of course, glared at him, in which the other boy hastily understood and stood up to clean up his own mess. Yoongi sighed, thankful to the existence of Seokjin.
Back to Hoseok though, Yoongi clearly heard what he said. And he was not about to agree with that.
"Yah! Who says I'm doing that shit? I'm not dressing up as Yoonji again!" Yoongi complained. Their dance troupe needed a girl character for their upcoming performance, and they wanted Yoongi to do it. It's easy, actually. He just had to walk pass in front of them and his exposure would only be like, 2 seconds.
But still. He had a dignity to protect.
"Hyuuuuung!" Jimin whined and writhed on top of Yoongi. He was sitting on the older boy's lap with his back snuggled warmly on Yoongi's chest and he was honestly quite heavy but Yoongi didn't really care because he was enjoying it. "You said you will be doing it!"
Yoongi scrunched up his face and pecked the younger's boy's nape. "I only said that I'll agree if you'll wear a maid's uniform for two days, but you still did not. So, no," he said, squeezing the younger's thigh.
The sulking younger boy attempted to stand up but the arm of Yoongi that was wrapped around his waist tightened it's hold and pulled him back. Yoongi bit his neck lightly.
"Aish, I hate you, hyung. Why can't you just do it? It's so easy!" he tried again, struggling to turn his head to look at Yoongi. "We would win if you'll be there, surely."
"Hmm, I love you, Chim Chim, but I simply don't care."
Namjoon chuckled at this while lowkey wrapping his arm around Jin's shoulder who was busy reading a book. "Yoongi-hyung is really heartless."
"Yah! I'm not heartless. I know that it may seem I do not care all the time, but you simply have to understand that I am human and deep down inside I really still don't care."
Upon saying this, he received a hard pinch in the arm from his boyfriend.
It was worth it, though. Especially that Jimin did really wear the maid uniform later that night.
