Chapter 55: The Airship
The next day Juny told us to follow her and we went to a mountain behind the city. We begun to find monsters inside there too but Juny quickly took care of them. It was like she knew where they would pop up from.
Juny- I've been training on this mountain since I was a child. I know practically what to expect on every corner.
Rainy- amazing.
We continued for some time, and we found a cave that had an iron door inside. Passing the door, Juny told us to not talk about anything we find here to anyone outside. She explained that this is the secret laboratory of Wutai, where they research for new weapons and such.
Rainy- and after all this secrecy, is the airship?
Juny- yeah, our airship is a better model that we are still upgrading. On some more years, it will be like a flying ninja fortress! Pretty cool if you ask me.
Rainy- and you are letting us take the airship for a month or two?
Juny- well, actually we need to test it and it will be a two months test. So if you kids want to go somewhere, we can ride you there as we don't have anywhere to go.
Ron- it won't fall right? You have a good wizard doing the enchantments?
Rainy- err, Ron. This isn't going to fly with magic, but with science.
Ron- What!?
Ginny- they can make a ship fly with science? Now I want to see it more!
Juny- it's called airship but is not ship-like. You'll see.
We continued through the laboratory and soon after that we reached an hangar. There it was, the airship. It was a giant metal vehicle that didn't look like anything I've seen until now. It wasn't like a plane, or like an helicopter. It wasn't obviously like a ship, and it certainly wasn't like something our world could recreate. I can't compare it to anything, it's all made of metal and the only thing I can talk about is that it has a lot of propellers and other things to make it fly. It also has a balcony on both sides to sightsee I guess. Or to fight enemies.
Juny- this is our airship. Wutai's own airship. After the calamity, it was fairly difficult get Midgar's advancement on machinery. But at last we have finished our own version of the airship. Capable of going from here to the other side of the world on less than 5 hours, and with enough capacity for 20% of Wutai's citizens. This, with some more years, will be our own flying fortress.
We entered the airship and it was amazing. It had anything you would need on a journey, and considering that it can go anywhere on the world on 5 or less hours... it might be an overkill.
The next week we spent it on Wutai. We told Juny that we would go to Gold Saucer to see what it is, and why she recommended it so much. She told us that it was a surprise but that we would have fun there for sure. I trained on the mountain and on the field some hours everyday, but less than in Hogwarts. I also went to eat with Ron and Ginny, and I've been spending more time with Ginny to know her better and to experiment with the magic. It didn't work. It seems that the wizarding magic can't be mixed. We tried using a mixture of the two spells, using her one and me the other, and even taking both wands and try to use both spells at the same time. But we will need another point of view for this.
The last day on Wutai we met Juny's father and he was a good guy. A little serious for my liking but good nonetheless. They told us where to go and we said immediately Gold Saucer.
[some time later, Inside the airship]
Rainy- hey guys, are you having fun?
Ron- yeah, this is awesome! I can't believe this isn't using magic but muggle technology!
Rainy- yeah, the muggles are more intelligent and dangerous than what you would think.
Ginny- I want to learn more about this muggle science. I might be able to make something with it.
Rainy- by the way. How did you learn so many attack spells Ginny? A lot of them are for high years on Hogwarts.
Ginny- after witnessing your awesome battle against that ninja... Juichy was it? I thought that I needed to defend myself, and I want to be like you. So I've been training the attack magics I could find on the library.
Rainy- well, I'm flattered by that, but you haven't been neglecting the rest of the classes for that right?
Ginny- err, maybe a little? But I've passed all the tests! Even if it wasn't with a good score!
Rainy- anyway, right now it's good that you are strong. But if you are training... when do you train your body?
Ginny- ... my body?
Rainy- yes, you know, push-ups, a martial art, or even yoga!
Ginny- ... I don't do anything of that...
Rainy- ... the-
*BOOM*
Ron- what was that!?
Rainy- I don't know! I'll go see!
I went running to the explosion and I found there a lot of shadow-like monsters attacking the guys that make the airship move.
Rainy- (damn! We need to help them!)
I conjured Joyeuse and attacked one of this shadow monsters with a cut, killing it in the process and the monster dissapeared on a black smoke. Now that I see them closer, they are pretty small and they have big yellow eyes. I killed some more of them, and the rest disappeared. Soon after that Ginny came.
Ginny- Rainy! We need help on the rest of the ship! There are shadow-like creatures killing people!
Rainy- on other places too!? damn! I'm going!
And I had to spend the rest of the journey killing this shadow creatures that didn't seem to really die.
