Chapter 35: Earth Shaker

Percy was pissed. He had left the Demi-god world behind... or at least he thought he had. He was a little ashamed to say that he had not listened to all his friends, his mother or even the gods when they asked him and somewhat begged him to fight for them again. He had given them all a firm no, and he hid away from the world that for so long was his home. It was selfish, but the reminder of what he'd lost... he couldn't raise a fist to protect it all anymore. He had lost his purpose... But now he had found something to fight for again.

Percy Jackson didn't know what devine being decided to destroy his world, but he'd had it! The moment he had something worth fighting all the darkest creatures of tartarus converged to steal it away.

Not today!

Percy's power build upon it's self as the ground shook and the air seemed to turn thick and humid. The clouds were brought down to earth, within a five mile radius in that instant no one could even see their hands in front of their faces. The dark wizards and the graecus felt a pressure bearing down into them, making their backs be damp by cold sweat. What was once a chaotic scene turned quiet in an instant. When they thought it was all over the ground slightly moved beneath their feet. Surprised at first the death eaters were frozen for the briefest of moments, but with a scene of urgency Lutius waved his hand signalling for everyone to advance again. Nico suddenly showed up at Hermione's side from a dark portal bringing two other demigods with him. Seeing this Ron backed up to Lucius's side pulling out his wand and pointing it at the new foes.

"Where is Percy?" Nico said frowning

Hermione pointed at the water behind her. "He was struck by an 'Crepitus' spell and was sent flying into the water." She explained.

Nodding Nico seemed relieved. "If he's in the water then he's fine" he assured.

Feeling better she refocused her gaze on the mass of enemies, they were overwhelmed. Even if Percy was with them she didn't see escaping as an option. "Hermione, can you disapperate?" Nico asked in with a frown on his face.

"I won't leave Percy!" She said resolutely scowling at the suggestion.

"No. that's not what I meant. Normally I have the ability to shadow travel too, it's something similar to what I know wizards can do. But I feel that ability blocked, like there is some force locking it out in this area. Is it the same for you?"

Hermione paled at the thought, she quickly attempted to apparate a few feet to her left but nothing happened. "Merlin!" She cursed. "What is happening?" They couldn't run and they were surrounded on all sides with only three people on her's.

Clap, clap, clap. Three even claps rang out in the open banquet area. The lamures and dark wizards parted as three figures walked between their still forms. One was immediately recognizable to all four of them.

"Salena!" Hermione cried out in bewilderment. She was followed closely behind another familiar figure... Voldermort. Hermione didn't want to believe she had been betrayed for the second time that day. She didn't know Salena as well as Ron but the backstabbing felt in some ways more painful.

Her anger started to cloud her vision for a moment before she reigned it back into control. She focused on her best friend for the past few years and needed to ask one question. "Why?"

Salena smiled at the question like she felt gratified. "It was all part of a much grander plan... Let me ask you something Hermione." Salena's smile blossomed to a blinding degree. Salena had always been the most beautiful person Hermione had ever known, but today she seemed radiant. It all felt simply disappointing. Why would such a beautiful person seem so deranged? Hermione shook her head indicating Salena could ask the question.

"Although you only been introduced to the fact demigods exist recently, what do you think is the difference between the gods and their half mortal children?" Salena's eyes were alight with passion Hermione had never seen in them before, she felt uneasiness at the question all the same. After a few moments of thought Hermione remembered the dream she had a week ago, and quickly came to an answer. "Power."

"Exactly. I knew you were smart. Yes, the amount of power the two beings have is somewhat half give or take. And that is where my dear lord Voldermort comes in..."

Suddenly torrents of water shot through the waiting Lamuires scattering their formations and creating chaos within their ranks.

"Percy..." Hermione whispered in joy.

But she'd seen a snear on Voldermorts face, like this person was mere rodent someone just delaying their demise. She started to worry, maybe she should think of an escape plan.

~Percy~

He appeared out of the water as dry as he had left, with each step the ground shook, and the look of determination of his face was scary. Even some of the Lamuires wanted to back away from the tall green eyed demigod because wrath was all that was promised in his presents.

Percy took out his bronze pen, it's light illuminating the darkness in the pond. Percy flicked the cap open, it's tip growing in length and it's handle fit Percy's grip like a glove.

Riptide, the weapon that has help him defeat kings, and giants. It's familiar weight helped Percy feel more at ease as he twirled it around. He was worried that his skills may have been a bit rusty, but he knew it would have to be enough. Percy reached for his watch and twisted the dial, immediately making it expand into a circular shield. Percy took a deep breath, his body itching for battle.

Then, he moved.

He was fast, quicker than anyone could believe. The boy was like a whole other person. But Lucius scoffed at the sight. "Muggle weapons." the old man sneared.

"Medio ignis!" he cried out sending a flash of fire. Lucius's plan was to burn his insides and keep going till he was dead.

Percy flexed his shield arm, catching the spell with the flat of his shield, reflecting it away into a hedge row. Ron's eyes went wide, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Is this really a human?" Something inside Ron's head told him to push forward and confront Percy's rampage, but he was frozen in fear. Percy reached out to the water around him and a river flooded towards the people surrounding his friends. The water's edge froze into a blade and flew towards his enemies. It moved past the death eater's defenses and stabbed into a group of lameirs.

"ARGH!" Cries could be heard from the crowd. Ron in sudden fear dropped his wand and tripped back on to the ground. Percy leveled his blade under Ron's chin, seeing the stupid red head completely give up under his attacks Percy lost interest in battling him further and with a wave of his hand he sent a gush of water at him and pushing him away like a fly.

Ping!

Suddenly, Percy found himself being flung away through the air. Luckily he had enough time to build up enough water in the area previously. Like a hand the water caught him and safely brought him down in front of Hermione, Nico and the two brothers.

Looking up to see who attacked him he seen the snake man... "Voldermort I presume?" Percy said with a ferocious smile on his face. He wasn't going to let this guy go today... unless he was limping.
