I stared at my Uncle in shock. A cold hand crippled my heart and my mind was a total blank. How could this happen? This is all a bad dream right? I knew that my Father was gone yet I cannot simply accept this fact.
Tears welled up in my eyes and slowly dripped down my face. This was the reality I had to face. There's no running away now.
My Uncle made the funeral arrangements and did his best to console me, which was to no avail. I hated myself for letting my Father out of my sight. I should not have assumed he could handle the storm and survived.
Everything just did not seem to make sense after that. Time passed by with me sitting on the old chair in my late father's office, pondering about what I could do. What I should have done. But never had I expected that Uncle had already made plans for me and my bleary future.
"Endellion, sweetheart, I've made some arrangements for you to go to a school next week, I advice you to get ready. It is going to be fun!" Uncle said, barging into the opulent room. I sighed and rolled my eyes. Seriously? School?
"Uncle, is it a public school? You know I don't like interacting with people my age." I said. Uncle smiled broadly and nodded his head.
"That is exactly why I want you to go to a public school. Don't worry, it is the most prestigious school in the state." With our conversation ending on a sour note(at least for me), I leaned back on my chair and looked up.
"Dad, I hope you can hear me up there. A year has passed since you left me and I really miss you. Please make my high school life a simple and quiet one. I don't want to attract too much attention."
