Bob now understood the meaning behind of his Master's teaching. What a hero is and what it takes to be a hero.
True heroes are selfless, they disregard their own safety just for the sake of other's safety. Risk their life just to save lives. A hero, even if ordinary and weak, will find their own strength to endure countless overwhelming obstacles and extreme difficulties.
Not just Bob, but also Mittle gained a new whole level of respect towards the Hero Sect. She was moved by their sheer will to save and selflessness for others. Unlike the Sword Dance Sect, whose all disciples are full of arrogant pricks and malicious people.
Revant was currently clenching his fist so hard his nails was about to pierce his skin, he once thought that maybe there are no saviors nor heroes, no such person came when his village was massacred, it was only him who was trying to save but doesn't have the power to do so. After not saving even a single person he thought to himself that he was no hero, he is just a vengeful ghost wanting to devour the blood of his enemies.
Saitama patted Bob's back, nodding at him.
Seeing his Master nods, Bob understood what Saitama means.
"Welson right? I praise you for having such belief, even sticking to your principle in the face of extreme handicap. I applaud you still wanting to be a hero despite of your crippled arm right now. I've known many cultivation experts, many did enough feats and accomplishments to call themselves a living legend. But there are still many of them, in the face of first experience of failure, cannot overcome the shameful moment, resulted in a demon sprouting in their heart doubting themselves which in the end chose to end their life and some even succumb to madness. Welson come." Bob praised Welson with seriousness. Even Revant was a bit surprised by his Master sentimental side.
Adel, Welson, David and Mathew looked at Bob and was moved by the speech but upon Bob's request they seem apprehensive. To them, the identities of Saitama's and others are still unknown to them, except for Mittle. It is also because of Mittle and her background of a disciple of Sword Dance Sect making them wary.
Saitama stepped forward.
"Go, a hero will help those that are in need, this time is no exception. As a professional Hero, you are the victim this time and need help, let us do our duties and help you." Saitama stepped up and tried to convince them out of suspicion.
"Although I am indeed a disciple from Sword Dance Sect, that was in the past. As of now, I temporarily cut off ties with them." Sensing the four people giving her cautious looks, Mittle stepped forwars and clear the misunderstanding.
Thinking about it deeply, Welson finally stepped forward and went to Bob.
"This is going to hurt so endure." Bob warned. Welson prepared himself.
"ARGGHH!!" Welson screamed in agonizing pain as he felt a very burning sensation in his bones, as if millions of ants are gnawing through his bones and tendons.
Adel, David and Mathew looked worriedly at Welson, they can even feel the pain just from hearing the excruciating howls of Welson.
"Done. Try moving it? That's right, use your cultivation technique, try moving your energy in your arm." Bob said instructing Welson.
Welson did as he told and tried circulating his cultivation energy towards his arm and found it perfectly fine, astonishing him, Adel, David and Mathew.
"Amazing." Welson exclaimed. A person that can completely heal a crippled arm, an expert!
"Th-then then, you-then you- the 8 Se-sects annual discipleship, maybe they can join us?" Thinking about it deeply, Mathew suddenly suggested in excitement.
"No we can't Mathew, we don't even know if they are here for The 8 sects annual discipleship. And if ever they really are, they have all the right to choose a Sect on their own, we have our own dignity, we don't coerce people into joining our Sect, only those who are willing." Adel shook his head, interrupting Mathew.
"The 8 Sect Annual Discipleship? What's that?" Hearing it, Saitama wondered.
Mittle stepped up and answered for Saitama.
"The 8 Sects annual discipleship is a grandeur event or ocassion where the 8 Sects are gathered in the Royal Central Plaza, the very middle of this kingdom. It is a big event solely for the 8 Sect to open and recruits potential disciples. It is organized by the Royal Family, the current ruler of this kingdom and supervised by the King Behemoth himself." Mittle said.
"Right, although it is an open recruitment of disciples for the Sects, one still need to pass a test. If there are some Sect that are interested in you, they will try to recruit you and you have the wonderful option to choose what Sect you will enter." Adel continued.
"Of course, since the 8 Sect's are all involved, then so do The Hero Sect. But the thing is, only rarely there will be someone choosing our Sect, and those that picked us has all the same view as us. If one is given an option to pick between the Hero Sect and another one of the 8 Sect, certainly one will choose the latter. In fact, in the previous 8 Sects Annual Discipleship, only 3 people joined us while other Sects have dozens and even have hundreds joining them." Adel can only bitterly said.
"Why does most candidates wont pick us? That is because the overall strength of our Sect is weak, the weakest of the 8 Sects. If it wasn't for the cultivation of the Sect Master, my Master, then we wouldn't even be considered as a sect and be just a nameless force of power. Also the disciples in the Sect aren't really all that talented but all are good person, all have one reason to join the Sect and that is to save people." Adel added.
"Even the ordinary cultivators look down the Hero Sect's with disdain and contemp. In this world where strength prevails, the weak can only be bullied and insulted, the weak are powerless and can only submit to the strong." Adel said sadly.
"Yet this 8 Sect's Annual Discipleship bullshit for us, became a pretense for them to insult and bully our Sect. Every time a potential candidate will select a Sect, the other Sects will use it as an opportunity to shame us, asking those candidates to state the reasons why they wont pick the Hero Sect. Of all the candidates that will appear, our Sect tried every time to appeal to them, extending them our invitations to join our Sect but almost everyone refused. Our Sect has the lowest pick rate and the other sects uses that to insult, degrade and defame us, but my Master only endure, giving invitations to every candidates hoping to let them join our Sects." Adel became slowly agitated, even David, Welson and Mathew are turning red from remembering those shameful things in the past, where they were always bullied but cannot do anything about it, afraid of the idea of the enemies retaliating towards their sect.
Saitama and the group was only silently listening to Adel.
Even Mittle was unaware of the struggles the Hero Sect was currently facing. She clealry knew the bullying done by other Sects towards the Hero Sect. Even the Sword Dance Sect joined in the fray and bullied them but everytime thay happens, the Hero Sect endures and kept silent. The Sect Master just kept giving invitations to each of the candidates but most refuse.
Mittle was becoming more and more ashamed towards her Sect, making her more resolute than ever to leave the Sword Dance Sect.
"All of them, every single one of them, thought that we are just cowards for keeping silent. They think we are willing to be cowards, cowering behind the Sect Master at all times? Even if the The Hero Sect turns the other cheek, we still care for our face, we still care for the little bit of reputation we have left."
I once promised that there will be a mass release if it reached 100k views, almost there!!!
