Chapter 22: A Slight Unforeseen Incident... (1)

Immediately disappearing from his current spot, the Librarian vanished only to reappear outside Chen Hua's manor.

「Glitter Re-... Elder, welcome, as an elder of the sect you can get a 50% discount on the glitter removal fluid. One bottle is enough for one person, I would recommend that you get 2 to also remove any glitter in your room. Be sure to remove it from the room before removing it from your self.」

「Okay... Thank you... Do you know how that glitter appeared and why this dastardly stuff is so hard to clean up, I mean, I can't even use my qi against it.」

「Well, It's glitter. It sticks to everything and gets everywhere, it is equivalent to a plague, but, the only symptom is having glitter stuck on you and spread anywhere you go, hence, the reason why I fled as fast as I could when I realised that I had accidentally caused a glitter rain. The Litch parade didn't make it any better.」

「Litch? I have never heard of such a creature.」

「They are quite odd... Although oftentimes violent that one was one of the oddities amongst them, although he wielded an undead army of corpses, he only used them to parade about rather than the usual.」

「What other creatures do you know about?」

「I know of a few although they do not exist in this region, I will find some time to add a bestiary to the library... Perhaps I should make it into a technique... Interesting, very interesting, what would happen if I were to try and make a technique that would impart predetermined knowledge upon practice? What would happen if it were to be adapted into other professions...」

「Anyways, the glitter removal fluid is quite easy to make, I have all the ingredients here, for a batch of 50 bottles it takes 50 stalks of star grass, 5 ice water pellets made from 3ml of 3 Freezes spiritual water and 1 Purple frost lotus (makes 5), and 5 flame water pellets (made from 3ml of 3rd forging spiritual water and 1 red flame lotus.

In theory, to concoct this, you only need to throw the star grass into 1000 ml of 3rd condensation spiritual water, remove the impurities, then simultaneously refine the 10 pellets, the secret to this is to have them alternating, evenly spaced in the cauldron, and separated with the Stargrass essence slowly swirling it clockwise. By the time it is done, the spiritual water in the cauldron should have reduced by half and be more concentrated meaning that you can now begin to mix the 10 pellets and star grass by starting from the middle and quickly stirring it anticlockwise. Next, as you're doing that you want to drip the fluid already mixed in the centre into the spiritual water below, mixing that in a clockwise direction.

When everything is mixed, separate into 10 ml bottles and seal with a minor vial sealing array to prevent energy leakage. Not only is this stuff useful for removing glitter we can sell it for 75 midgrade spirit stones a bottle as tracking fluid removal fluid as it can remove most common tracking fluids.」

「Just how did you get your hands on that amount of such rare materials, the lotuses only grow in the harshest of environments and the spiritual waters are just too precious, they are refined from spiritual energy and a few other rare materials and can practically be considered liquid spiritual energy.」

「They only cost a few high-grade spirit stones, I can easily make that much back by selling 20. In fact, if I really wanted to, people would still buy it at an even higher price as it will never be a bad idea to keep a bottle on you. It can even mask one's aura temporarily after use... What if I were to combine this with a hiding technique...」

Suddenly, there was a loud knocking on the door, opening it, the librarian disappeared as 3 disciples with traces of glitter in their hair appeared at his front door.

「Glitter removing fluid costs 50 mid-tier spirit stones.」

「Sect master, one of the inner disciples organised a small team of 7 to enter the forest...」

「I see... 4 high-grade spirit stones for 8 bottles. You need the 8th bottle to clean up the place you were waiting at. Glitter is similar to a plague, it spreads anywhere one travel, it will cover and stick to anything. We will have a disaster on our hands if it manages to contaminate the sect as I Don't want to be finding glitter in this place for the next 10.000 years.」

「Is it really that bad?」

「I guarantee that If you don't remove that small amount of glitter from your hair, one bottle is enough for the three of you, you will wake up finding you pillows covered in glitter, soon it will spread to anything or anyone who touches your hair or the pillow further spread ing it. Although it is small in quantity what happens if a lot of people have these small traces of glitter?」

「The inner disciple brought a few bottles of it back wanting to experiment on it after finding out that it wouldn't come off.」

Standing up and stepping over the threshold of his front door he shouted out: WARNING! From This Point Forwards, There Will Be No Glitter Allowed Within The Sect! I Will Not Mention What Will Happen If You Are Found To Be In Possession Of It, But If You Wish To Experiment With It, It Is Recommended That You Bring 5 Bottles Of Glitter Removal Fluid Per Person, You Also Need To Clean Up The Area You Were Using.

「Problem solved, no one is going to be bringing the stuff into the sect... wait, tell that Inner disciple to go and collect as much as possible and I will provide him with the glitter removal fluid for free when he is done... I will clean up the bottles and seal them If we can drop them from the warship onto our enemies then they can have fun with it...」

「Okay, I will hurry.」

「The total cost has been brought down from 4 high-grade spirit stones to 3. Market price exchange rate applicable for midgrade or lowgrade spirit stones.」

「Thank you, young sect master, We will notify you when he is done collecting the glitter if he accepts.」

「Deciding that since he had a bit of time he would get started on his ideas for making a technique that would bestow knowledge. Prying into his vague memories he recalled a strange ranking system.」

Common Foreign Bestiary Technique:

There are seven tiers to the CFB Technique, It is for those who want to learn more about common foreign beasts, Cultivating it will directly impart the knowledge into one's mind. and each subsequent tier will contain the knowledge for the next tier.

The First-tier will teach about F-Grade beasts and their power, strengths, and weaknesses.

The Second Tier will be for E-Grade beasts.

The Third for D-Grade beasts

The Fourth for C-grade beasts

The Fifth for B-Grade beasts

The Sixth for A-Grade beasts

The Seventh for S-Grade beasts

Ding! Technique created. Unranked. (Below Yellow Tier but the knowledge contained ranks from Below Yellow to Silver Earth(Heaven))

Just as he finished putting it into the library one of the 3 disciples from before came and said: Brother Lu has finished Collecting as much of the glitter into the jars, there is only a thin coating left on the surfaces around the area in which it appeared.

Following the disciple to the scene of the incident, he found the inner disciple called brother Lu sitting there covered in glitter. Taking out the glitter removal fluid, Chen Hua cleaned up the area and the inner Disciple. Using arrays, he strengthened and sealed the jars storing them away.

「Young Sect Master, thank you for helping.」

「Say, are you interested in researching creatures from beyond this place?」

「What do you mean?」

「Strange creatures capable of using weird magics, mysteriously powerful, but weak in the eyes of the strong cultivators here.」

「Yes, Absolutely! If Young sect master gi-」

「No need to go spouting nonsense, There is a technique in the library called the Common Foreign Beastiary Technique.」

「Thank You!」

Eagerly running off the inner disciple ran off to immediately to fetch the book. Arriving at the library the librarian had already cleansed him of the tainting glitter and had the newest technique of the library in his hand.

「Interesting, very interesting. The concept behind this is too profound, even I cannot discern the origin of such a thing. I can't even make heads or tales of what this would be supposed to do if not for the introduction. But for some reason, against all common sense, This technique actually regresses in difficulty as the stages go higher... I see. The first levels are so hard because of the sheer amount of information in the... To think that such creatures could exist... Ghouls, Wraths though similar to souls, goblin shamans, goblins, kobolds, Chimera, a strange lizard called a dragon for some reason...」

As the librarian was pondering over his newly found knowledge he found a disciple walking in.

「Hello elder, the yo-」

「I know, Here it is, this jade slip will last a bit longer than the others, a total of 9 days. The levels actually get easier the higher you go so don't be too worried about the time when you see the first stage.」

---

Back in the woods, Chen Hua took out a few cheap and simple materials that could be bought for only 10 low-grade spirit stones. Tossing them in he fired up the cauldron and formed a small block out of the materials. Tossing it into a jar and tightly sealing the lid he waited... Snap!

Opening the cover he was greeted with the dastardly infectious annoying disease called glitter.

Glitter Tracking powder Recipe:

100 Goldfish and or Carp scales,

Qi Pellets of any grade, the higher the grade, the longer they will stick and the harder they will be to remove,

Pure Slag Sand. (The more spiritual energy the slag withstood upon failure the finer the resulting glitter is making it even harder to remove.)

30 feet of spider sticky spider silk. The stronger the silk, the greater the direct friction between specks of glitter resulting in a greater movement slowing effect.

Taking the blasphemous creations and the utterly appalling recipe with him he returned to the sect and locked the glitter in the most secure part of the vault.

Returning to his residence, Chen Hua took out the scroll and placed it in the middle of an array. SEAL! With the scroll placed in the middle of the array, the various strange lines began to wriggle.

Coiling Dragon Bullsh*t Seal!

Repeating this step for a second scroll he took them and thought that he should start to experiment with random things a little bit more...

Using his newly theorised seal that was a mix of inscriptions, arrays, and alchemy, he sealed the scroll. As the lines began to wriggle the spiritual ink concocted form many different, strange, and entirely random items from the alchemy workshop area that were both dirt cheap and containing spirituality along with a few spirit stones, began to shimmer as new inscriptions other than the original thing formed constantly shifting and shrinking until it centred onto the scroll covering it in a bunch of indecipherable lines. Because he had imprinted all of the used materials with the Spiritual Imprinting technique he could now sense the use of the seal...

Luckily, he had named it with the right name. It looked impressive, like a gigantic coiling dragon, but, the entire thing was a load of BS. If one were to forcefully open the scroll, it would collapse causing the spiritual energy within to run rampant and tear the scroll... probably (nothing was certain). If one were to inject their spiritual energy, it would be absorbed thanks to the 1000 year crystal iron dust. If one were to burn it, well... That was self-explanatory.

Well, how do you open it? Simple. All one had to do was separate the outside edge of the paper from the other parts of the scroll, this could be done by inserting a thin thread into the scroll and bringing it past that edge.

Proud of his baffling creation, he gave it to the librarian to study.
