The next day was almost the same as the previous, except for the fact they spent this day outside in the garden instead of inside. The weather was really nice after the heavy storm clouds had dispersed, and today the sun was shining from a cloud free sky. Since the storm had been more than 24 hours ago the grass was dry, the seven of them had decided to spread out on a small hill beyond the fountain. There was a cherry tree at the top of the hill, and since it was early spring, the tree was almost in full bloom. Not yet though. But soon. If they stayed long enough they might see it bloom. Because their phones still didn't work, they got to spend more time together without checking up on the social networks all the time. The only time teller they had was the old clock in the big room and the sun or moon in the sky. But they didn't worry about time. They were having too much fun to care about time. Actually it was quite relaxing to be able to not worry about it. It was their vacation so it was up to them to decide what to do. They didn't worry about cancelling their stay at the holiday resort either, because they couldn't contact them without a phone anyways. To stay at the abandoned mansion was free, and enjoyable.
In the evening when they were all back in their room, with fire in the fireplace, they were trying to scare each other with scary stories.
JM: "...and there was no one else. Everything was quiet. Nothing moved. Not even the wind. There was an ominous feeling in the air and he turned around. Nothing. He spun around and no one was to be seen. Suddenly..."
HS: "BOO!"
SJ: "YAAAAAAH!"
Seokjin threw his pillow at Hoseok who was running away, out of his reach. The others were laughing heartily at the oldest's reaction, when a click suddenly sounded behind them. They all went silent and faced the sound. Nothing happened. After a little while they all faced each other again and shrugged. Jimin was about to continue his story when the grandfather clock sounded in the back of the room. They all freaked out before laughed it off.
TH: "I think we've had enough of these scary stories. If we go on we'll have a heart attack next time the clock goes off."
Seokjin's looked at the clock.
SJ: "It's 1am now. Wow. It's been exactly 3 days since we came here."
NJ: "Yeah. Time flies fast when you're having fun."
YG: "We should get some sleep."
The rest of them agreed, and a few moments later they were all in their "beds" on the floor. Their beds were not really beds. They were just seven mattresses on the floor with a lot of pillows and bed sheets on them. It was like one big bed because they were so close to one another. Jimin, Taehyung and Hoseok were cuddled up together on two mattresses (Jimin had left his bed to join the other two), Seokjin, Namjoon, Yoongi and Jungkook all had space between each other.
As they fell asleep the whole building seemed to vibrate as if of some kind of wind swept through the place. Something creaked somewhere in the dark, and Jungkook opened his eyes. It creaked again. He got up and looked around. The fire was almost out. Only a few sparks were left. He blew at them to restart the fire. As the fire grew the shadows retreated, but Jungkook noticed how they retreated. They retreated slowly as if it was ink flowing away slowly. He was deep in thought as a hand touched his shoulder. Taken by surprise, he stood up and spun around quickly to find himself facing Yoongi.
YG: "Are you okay? You look concerned."
Jungkook looked at the shadows which were now acting normally, and then at Yoongi.
JK: "Yeah don't worry. The fire was almost out, so I relit it again."
Yoongi looked at his sceptically.
JK: "It was cold."
Now Yoongi looked even more suspicious.
JK: "I was scared of the dark-"
Yoongi nods and then smiles and comes closer to him, before tugging at his sleeve to take him back to the beds.
YG: "Come. We should go get some sleep."
And so they returned to the beds, but this time Kookie and Yoongi had switched places so that Jungkook was between Yoongi and Namjoon. Yoongi had one arm around the younger as they fell asleep.
Nothing disturbed them the rest of the night, though one set of eyes watched them intently untill dawn.
