Miya is standing in front of the mirror. Checking and admiring herself. She's wearing a royal blue chiffon dress that hugged her waist and paired with some 4 inch beige high heels. She just curled and let her hair down that reached her waist.
She left the note on top of her dresser that she wrote earlier. Miya sighed and took her brush and put it at the side of the note to avoid the wind blowing it away.
She can't help but feel guilty about this. She's going out without Estes knowing it. It's not like he is her husband or a boyfriend but he's still her friend and thinks that he deserves to know.
While thinking about what is the next step she's going to make, she heard a slight knock on her door.
She felt her heart skipped a beat. What is she going to do? Someone's outside her door waiting for her to open, but she can't just open it! That person outside will be confused about her clothing and will know that she's going somewhere.
Yes, she's a goddess. A woman with high rank, but that doesn't mean she always needs to wear an elegant gown or a crown inside the castle.
"Miya? Dinner is served. Let's eat together." It's Estes.
It's been a while since they have eaten a meal together. Sweat is starting to form on her forehead and gushing down her face. Guilt is killing her.
She also needs to attend the party at the Sacred Statues. Not only she doesn't want to turn down her friends but this might also be her opportunity to meet her mate.
And when she finds her mate and marry each other, two Kingdoms will have to merge and will strengthen their security.
But something's stopping her from having that opportunity, or maybe 'someone' is stopping her from grabbing that opportunity.
Estes...
Because of his overprotectiveness towards Miya, she can't even step a foot to their garden. She has been a prisoner to her own palace.
She sat down to her bed and grabbed her bow and arrow. She sighed then looked at the locked door in front of her before speaking.
"I'm going to bed early, Estes. I want some rest. Let's just eat breakfast tomorrow together. Is that okay?" She lied.
'He will probably catch me' she thought. He knows that Miya will never go to bed early even though she's super tired. She stays up late and wakes up late. Miya's more of a night person, opposite of Estes.
She heard the doorknob ticking but the door won't open. She immediately closed her eyes when she heard Estes slammed the door.
"Why is the damn door locked, Miya??" Estes sounds irritated already but Miya tried to remain calm except her heart tells otherwise.
"For privacy, Estes." She answered short.
Miya knew Estes can already break down her door using his magic but what's stopping him from doing it so?
"Privacy?? Really Miya? It's not like someone is going to barge in your room." Estes said. He's getting impatient.
Miya rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah? You are just doing it right now."
She heard Estes called one of the handmaids and asked for something. "Do you have a spare key to Señorita Miya's bedroom? May I please borrow it?"
The handmaid bowed down and nodded. "Yes. Here you go, Señor." And she gave him the key.
"Thank you."
Miya was alarmed and quickly took her bow and arrow and went to the balcony before Estes can open her door.
She inserted the arrow with a rope on the end of it in the wall. She made sure the hole she made was deep to avoid the arrow from breaking. She looked down the balcony and saw Odette and Kadita waiting there.
"What took you so long??" Kadita asked.
Miya put her index finger in front of her mouth, motioning them to keep silent. Odette nodded while Kadita rolled her eyes.
She heard the door swung open. So she immediately used her special power to avoid Estes and the guards coming inside my room.
She turned invisible.
Her power doesn't long enough so she quickly but carefully went down from her balcony using the rope from her arrow until she reached the ground.
She pulled the rope and got the arrow down. She hid it in the nearest bush with her bow.
"OMG! Kadita did you see that?? Someone just pulled down the arrow! And there's a floating bow a while ago! So does that mean, ghosts are real??" Odette gaped.
Miya face-palmed while shaking her head. Kadita lightly tapped Odette's shoulder. "Hey, don't be an idiot. Now I feel bad for your husband marrying you."
Odette's eyes widen. "How dare—"
Miya immediately cut her off. "Guys we don't have time. Estes is already finding me. We might not get into that party if we keep on babbling here."
"Who said that?" Odette looked around.
Miya grunted. "It's Miya, I'm in front of you. Just hold my hand and both of you will be invisible too. We don't have much time, we need to move. My power doesn't last long too." She explained and grabbed both Odette's and Kadita's hand and stormed off towards the carriage which they will be using to go to the party.
The magic worn out, they became visible again. The horseman almost yelled because of shock when he saw them sitting inside the carriage. Odette motioned him to keep quiet and the man nodded.
The carriage started to move away from the castle. It will take an hour before they get to the said party.
Miya sighed. "Can I take a nap first? I got tired because of turning invisible and everything." She explained.
Kadita nodded. "Go ahead. You have an hour to rest. You'll need all the energy you can get for the party later."
Odette smiled. "You look great Miya. If your mate sees you, he'll probably start drooling."
They all laughed. "Thanks, Odette. You both look awesome too. And I do hope I meet my mate there."
It's kind of weird to see Kadita also coming to the party because the main point of the party is having to meet your mate. Doesn't she hate mates?

"Señor Estes? Should we follow them?" One of the guards asked.
Estes shook his head and smirked. "No. It's fine. Let her face reality. Did you send the wolves to the party?"
The guard hesitantly nodded. "Are you sure about this Señor? Señorita Miya and other gods and goddesses might get harm because of the pack of wolves you just sent." The guard worriedly said.
Estes picked up the note Miya left for him and crumpled it, threw it in the trash bin. "I don't care about the other gods and goddesses. All I know is that Miya can protect herself and will come back here in the Kingdom and will never get out of the castle again until we're married to each other."
The guard frowned. "But Señor, weapons aren't allowed in the party. How are you sure about Señorita's safety?"
Estes smirked. "She has the power to be invisible, just like what she did earlier to escape us. And she'll come back here because this is her only home."
"Señor, what if she found her mate at the party and did not go home?" The guard asked again.
He shook his head. "Don't worry about that. Miya will never find her mate. I made sure about that."
"H-How?" The guard muttered.
Once again, Estes devilishly smirked. "Because I killed him a long time ago."
